  1. In the Ka-50 controls. Find the cheat menu and bind autostart to something else.
  2. On the F-15 or on any plane? From what I understand about the F-16, choosing Small over Medium reduces the MPRF distance by about 33%.
  3. unfortunatly I can provide only guesses. I hope someone else can pitch in and say if I am correct or wrong. If it turns out I am right, does someone else know if this is fully implemented in the FC3 F15?
  4. I think if you have the server version installed, you should see so ingame. New icon next to the modules. and special options. You don't need to run some sort of exe. 10310 is not the default DCS port. it works via a different port. You dont need the buyable version to have the software run on the server, but you need it to get any sort of output displayed on your screen.
  5. Tacview produces .ACMI files wich are not tolerated by the upload system. Note that Tacview files easily reach a few MB for decent sized and/or lengthed fights. Your total upload (across al your posts) cannot exceed 10MB. You should look for a 3rd party service to upload your .ACMI files to and provide a link.
  6. At your service [ame] [/ame]
  7. Just install DCS: world from steam. You get the latest stable version. Opting in to beta versions require special actions. You will get a version of 1.5.3 with EDGE. 2.0 is only available in early acces (non-finished) and is not available at all in steam.
  8. You can ask any question in my thread :) While I already received requests to do other planes including the Su-27, Mirage and even the MiG-29 I've been pointing people to the excellent guide written by a gentleman named Santi871. I'll provide a link. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0By_jGRnxUhnUSGNLeGNZS0R1aG8/view
  9. Added ALT - R Corrected the fuel mass Added R for dumping. Appreciate the feedback.
  10. Hello everyone. Thanks for the kind words and the shared reputation points. It's a real motivation to keep working on this guide. I should have another chapter added by tonight. I feel like I got misinterpreted. So I changed the first sentence around slightly :) I did not mean to intend the full master in the F-15 in all air combat situations. Air Combat is a nearly infinitly more complex than plinking tanks is. Let alone Air Combat with things one cannot even see. What I ment was mastery of the avionics and the systems. When learning a new airplane, there is time that must be spent learning that. After that one has to spend a long time to master her in real combat. The latter can be a life-long journey in the F-15, I'll admit. My guide is supposed to help people with the first part, and set people on their way for the second. with the avionics in comparison, over half a decade after its release many of the CDU functions still deludes a portion of the Warthog playerbase. Thanks, note that from a cranking position it is way easier and faster to get into a beaming position as well. So if you someone shoots at you... You'll go green and blend in with your chaffs faster. I might do another example of that sometime :) I'm cool with this, but note that there's still a lot I wanna do. Once it's done I'll intend to release my own PDF. --- Thanks again everybody!
  11. You're welcome. Both systems are described starting from page 48 of the manual. I suppose you'll be delighted to read that the first sentence describing the SAS (Stability Augmentation System) reads: "The SAS improves the handling qualities of the A-10 and allows better and finer control. This results in better target tracking and reduces the amount of trimming needed" The SAS system is described in detail on page 148 of the manual. EAC (Enhanced Attitude Control) is part of the LASTE (Low Altitude Safety and Targeting enhancement) sytem. This is described in more details starting from the bottom of page 136. Note that EAC "Demands" certain conditions to be met before it works. To the point that a magnet will pull the switch back to the off position if the EAC is not satisfied. The requirements are described in that chapter of the manual. I am wondering if you do your own startup? I see you only registered this month (welcome to the forums!) and have a low post count. Many new pilots choose automatic start or a pre-started plane for their first few missions. Those automaticly take care of any SAS and EAC requirements. thumbs up if you start learning the start-up procedure from the beginning!
  12. Can you go into the axis setup, or possibly the warthog HOTAS software that all axis are working fine? Is the stability augmentation system engaged? Is the enhances attitude control engaged? For long sessions of flight I do not trim the plane for level flight. I use the autopilot in ALT/Heading mode to travel large distances. I use ALT (Wich also holds bank) in order to orbit. and I use PATH in order to climb.
  13. For what aircraft? The A-10C has training ammunition for the gun. As well as a large selection of BDU's (Bomb Dummy Unit) wich are filled with sand to mimick the balastics of real bombs. Sometimes they are equiped with a small smoke charge as well in order to spot the impact. A selection of training Hydra rockets also exists.
  14. A stick like the X-56, the X-55 or the Warthog HOTAS is worth it if you have the disposable income for it. If you look at an image of a real jetfighter stick you'll see the layouts are similair. Many modern jets that are simulated like A-10C, the upcoming F/A-18 and the F-16 in other popular simulators follow something called the HOTAS principle. HOTAS meaning hands on throttle and stick. The buttons on the stick and throttle don't just do one thing. They select avionics the pilot is interested in, and the functions of the other buttons is then changed in order to manipulate said avionics. This allows a pilot to operate roughly over half of the necesary flying equipment, and nearly 100% of the avionics necesary for combat without ever letting go of his controls. An A-10C pilot with such a stick can operate the navigation system, work the targetting pod or maverick. Designate targets for weapons or others. Command the laser. Change the selected countermeasure program. Activate or deactivate said countermeasure program. Activate or deactivate jammers, even aim the AIM-9 Heatseeking missile seekerhead around to steer it towards a threat or target, and to many other things to list. All this without as much as lifting a single finger of his controls. The question to you is, do you want to simulate this as well with expensive pieces of hardware, or memorise the keyboard controls for these actions. Modern jets, even the F-16 you mentioned, still have rudder pedals. You still need them to steer when on the ground. They're also useful for finetuning during a landing aproach or when refueling and some other cases. During normal turns, the rudder is usually worked by the FBW computer (fly-by-wire, F-16) or something like the CAS (Controls augmentation system, F-15). Real jets still rely on toebrakes in order to brake on the landing roll and taxi. By having a toebrake on each pedal the pilot can apply differential braking. This allows him to steer when on the ground or when landing and turn the aircraft in a desired direction without applying rudder or working the nosewheel. Rudder pedals are pretty much required if you ever want to get one of the helicopter modules, only the Ka-50 is decent, but not perfect, without them.
  15. Hey everyone, I've written an introductory yet comprehensive guide about combat in the F-15. For those of you who browse the forums on a smartphone, it's very data-intense due to many images and some GIFs, so be sure you're on wifi! While this information is valuable for Multiplayer, it applies to both singleplayer and multiplayer fights. However no multiplayer specific things have been mentioned. Thanks My complete guide is now published as an article on mudspike http://www.mudspike.com/dcs-f-15c-combat-guide-for-beginners/ Want a PDF? Find it here. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1965067/index.php German translation by Linol_Germany http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2821850#post2821850 The original Mudspike thread with discussion https://forums.mudspike.com/t/dcs-f-15c-combat-guide-for-beginners-by-sryan-very-img-heavy/2063
  16. Okay great! This one works. Many thanks. And don't worry about it ;)
  17. Negatory. The laser is only for rangefinding. Not for designation.
  18. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/ login ( top right ) enter your serial keys go into the game, then module manager download modules.
  19. I'll guess I'll have to do just that then. Thanks for trying to help me everybody.
  20. I'm not seeing it in the editor. Neither in the alpha nor beta. Is it possible you got it from a mod anyway?
  21. Like Aginor said they are not freely available. If you consider yourself good at it you may apply to ED to create maps for them. The criteria are as follows. sourcepost
  22. Just tried. Although in hotmail I only get a download option. Not as save as function. No luck either way.
  23. unfortunatly not for me. No keyfile = starts up fine in demo-mode. Keyfile = won't start at all Yeah I believe I did it correct. I uploaded a small screenshot just in case. Oherwise I'll have to hope someone would lend me their key to see and test if that is the cause.
