Audacity It doesn't do what you want right out of the box (click and done) But if you add a high-pass filter and amplify the sound by a couple of dB you get a pretty good effect. if you add an empty second track, apply some white noise, use the same high-pass filter and use the amplifier to actually reduce the output by a few dB to create a static effect or to use as a sound for when the radio turns on or off. It's free.

Correct, it holds the chute. On the '34 and '37 it does have a rearward facing radar iirc.

There are a few chapters dedicated to this in the F-15 guide in my signature. ↓

Maybe we'll hear something big about the hornet and 2.5 amongst other stuff on January 9th, ED's anniversary. The company is going to turn 26...

Can You Copy An A-10C Joystick Config Across Versions?
Sryan replied to Emmy's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
C:\Users\<user>\Saved Games\DCS open.Alpha\Config\Input (and then various aircraft) There's a folder for each input device you own (stick, throttle, pedal etc) move them to C:\Users\<user>\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input (and then various aircraft) or C:\Users\<user>\Saved Games\DCS Open.Beta\Config\Input (and then various aircraft) If you play the beta. Technically this not advised to do so, since it can lead to problems, but it's usually fine. By the way it's the Caucasus, not the Balkans :) -
I don't think ED killed off coretex and their super hornet just because they are doing their own C hornet. In that case, why is VEAO still around? Their spitfire Mk XIV would be a direct competitor to ED's Mk IX. And according to their roadmap they already secured the contract to release the Mk XIV module. And how would it make sense from a business sense standpoint? I assume it takes a lot of love, care and nurture to help the 3rd parties out but ultimatly they make the largest investments, and it's ED taking a chunk of the profits. I don't think ED ever implied the hornet was close, not even when coretex shut down. They've always said to not hold your breath until a release date is anounced. And some of us always wanted a somewhat modern 4th gen. And now we're getting a ~'98 F/A-18C with ATFLIR and JHMCS amongst other things. Surely we can show some patience for that?

There are also Templates for nearly every type of SAM site that places all the required units. You can always add more launchers to this group.
-
Hey Vlerkies, you could save yourself that external space. Like Yurgon stated it is pretty to easy to transmogrify your stable version into the beta version and back.

The A-10 has no radar equipment other than a radar altimeter. They won't see you on any sensors if you are behind them. They can see you on their sensors if you are in front of them. If that sensor is a radar you can see them on your RWR (radar warning receiver). The A-10C has a piece of equipment known as a MAWS (Missile approach Warning System) that checks for telltale signs of a missile launch, regardless of if its radar guided or guided by other means, this is also why the system goes off when even a friendly warthog shoots a maverick.

The huey, and factually all modules are compatible with both 1.5 and 2.0. This won't cost you extra activations.

You won't have any issues fighting at night in the Gazelle :) I have the other choppers too, and while I do like them, I'm not sure if they would be as useful as a gazelle in Blue Flag. Aside from capturing FARPs, rescueing pilots and things like that. The Mi-8MTV2 Hip has nice weapons such as cannons, Gattling guns, huge amount of rockets and even bombs. It's also surprisingly fast since unlike the Huey or Gazelle it actually has two engines. But the weapons are fixed wich means you must sort of strafe with the Hip similair to how you would in a ground attack aircraft. The huey can gimbal its guns, both the pintle mounted door guns as the forward firing guns, but there's only so much you can do with the 7.62 and rockets aren't always reliable in getting the job done. You can rep me just the regular way, but it might be possible that posts here can't be repped. Similair to how you can't rep posts in chit-chat. At any rate I was glad to help.

I'm not sure about the intricaties of blue flag like deploying MANPADS teams and rescueing downed pilots, but I'd argue the gazelle is probably the most useful out of the three. - It's got a Viviane sighting system with good zoom and thermal vision so it makes for a decent scout. The system is mounted on the roof so if you're a decent pilot you can take cover behind objects but still scout. - With the missiles you can one hit kill any land vehicle within 4300 metres. The missiles are subsonic though, a hell of a lot slower than what the Ka-50 shoots. So you need to track a target for nearly 30 seconds at max range. - It has NADIR navigation equipment, so not only can you find your way around the battlefield, you can relay info about what you find in LatLong or UTM coordinates. - You can hunt other choppers with the Mistral IR guided missile, or perhaps become sort of a hero and shoot down a fast-mover with it :) If you choose to fly the Gazelle capable of shooting the Mistral you lose out on the thermal capable camera system though, it gets swapped for a regular daylight TV system. -It's multicrew capable in case you want to bring a blue flag buddy along. You can take turns controlling the chopper and/or have one player pilot while the other operates the weapons and sighting system.

Incredible tool! I wonder if it's possible to get curves other than the P=0 as well?
-
Most likely during the winter holiday sale or ED's 25th aniversary in January. There might be a sale before that but those are unpredictable.
-
it's been a long time since I flew the A, but IIRC you need to press "7" and then "C"
-
although I voted yes, I wonder if it's within the realm of possibility that the LHA gets swapped for a wasp LHD? That would be something I'd really like to see and buy.

SD, Those are actually training missions and a campaign ;) 10 training missions and a 13 mission long combat campaign.

Congratulations BD! it was an honor to test this with you :)

Yes it would be useful. Some birds can exceed .2 mach in a dive. So you know when you can stop checking your 6 for birdstrikes.

Brian, I'm happy to see that the project is still ongoing! I've had fun for days with your earlier Tu-22M mod for the Su-25T. This is my most anticipated module on the long term. As for the business plan, I'd rather pay upfront for all features, or atleast have the option for a 'premium version' that will see all updates included. It might be worth to check if it's worth it in the long term to maintain multiple versions of the Tu-22M for your customers who have different versions or perhaps even different combinations of paid upgrades. All we have for reference is the Black Shark 1 to Black shark 2 upgrade wich has been problematic for many, and ED did not even have to update BS1. I might be looking to far into the future, but would it not be an alternative to recuperate the costs of developing the AI by implementing it on other modules you might want to develop as well such as possibly the Su-24,B-1B, F-111 or a tornado, or to license it to other devs? I know some people are hesistant, but it would be a day one purchase for me. I know some modules are struggling through their early acces period, but we also have the mirage wich is an excellent example of progressing through early access. So far I have good faith in the work you've shown!

Hey everyone, I wanted to try and make something with the X: cockpit parameters functionality. According to the manual I should be able to find the necessary data per aircraft under Eagle Dynamics/scripts/aircrafts. But I can only find _common there. Have they been moved or something? I'm running the Alpha and Beta versions. Thanks in advance
-
No they weren't. I didn't want to imply otherwise. Su-27's were only shot down by a SA-14 and an S-75.
-
F-15's did get shot down. F-15E-46-MC, 88‑1689, c/n 1098/E073, of the 336th FS, 4th TFW, USAF, was shot down by anti-aircraft artillery on the first day of operation Desert Storm F-15E-46-MC, 88‑1692, c/n 1101/E076, of the 336th FS, 4th TFW, USAF, was shot down by a Soviet made SA-2E missile during Operation Desert Storm. Both crew members ejected and were POWs. But NONE were ever shot down in air-to-air combat.

F-4 is currently not known to be in development. It's a public secret that work was put towards developing an F-16. But the current status of the F-16 project is unknown. A third party developer named Belsimtek has stated some interest in developing a full fidelity F-15C [source at the bottom] but it is currently not known wether they have decided to develop it or not. A third party developer named RAZBAM has stated they are actively developing an F-15E module. The latest news is that the project is on hold while ED implements certain technologies to the core simulation like A2G radar. MiG-23 and Kfir are currently not known to be in development. ED themselves is developing an F/A-18C. A lot of images can be easily found on the web and on this forum. It is still hoped the module will reach early acces state this year still. There are only rumors that a Panavia Tornado might be in development by VEAO (Denied), RAZBAM or Polychop. No Chinese Chenyang, Chengdu or designs from other manufacturers are known to be in development.
