Greyman, Thanks, it was indeed worth mentioning. I feel like I am missing something, so appreciate any comments. Are you by chance running VAICOMPRO on a remote computer? If so, are you able to key the radios from DCS? I have "kludged" a solution together using an X-plane utility called "Pilot2ATC PTT Network Kit 1.3". It works to allow joystick buttons on one computer to generate keystrokes on a second computer. It's working with DCS and VAICOMPRO, but it is limited to two buttons, although I may be able to run multiple copies to get all six ptt buttons. However, I can't believe Hollywood hasn't already given us that capability and I just don't understand how to access it. I see in the manual on page 65 a section titled "PLUGIN API" that list the six (12) PTT hotkeys, so I suspect this might be how to obtain this remote keying capability, but I don't have a clue how to utilize it. Hopefully Hollywood will respond.

Yes, I opened all four ports mentioned in the advance configuration section and VAICOMPRO appears to be communicating with DCS over the network. .

Sorry if this has been asked before. I tried searching through the 350+ pages of this thread without finding any hits for "remote computer", "DCS runs on remote IP", "advanced configuration". I'm attempting to get VAICOMPRO working on a separate remote computer. I followed the instructions in the manual under "advanced configuration" and have it working to the point where VAICOMPRO's PTT panel identifies the aircraft selected on the DCS computer. I can use a joystick attached to the remote computer to key VAICOMPRO and it successfully sends commands to DCS computer. So that seem to be good. However; what I am missing is this: how to key VAICOMPRO from the TM HOTAS PTT controller attached to the DCS Computer. Is there a way to send the PTT buttons from the controller on the DCS computer across the network to either Voice Attack or or VAICOMPRO? Seems like VA only sees locally attached joysticks. So I must be missing something because using this current configuration doesn't seem all that useful if you have to use two separate PTT switches attached to different computers to integrate the system. Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

Good to know DCS is working on the resolution of the problem: Checking our servers this morning, of the three that I restarted last night, only one remains running normally this morning. Strangely the other two haven't received 401 errors, but continue to receive error 28, followed by error 503: One server was restarted at 18:12 and ran without error until 7:42 2019-11-14 18:12:26.212 INFO Dispatcher: loadMission Done: Сontrol passed to the player 2019-11-15 07:42:25.064 ERROR NET: HTTP request dcs:server:update failed with error 28: Timeout was reached 2019-11-15 07:42:25.079 ERROR NET: Server update temporarily failed. Ian, First off thanks for all the work on DCS BIOS and your patience in answering so many beginners' questions. I have learning to take advantage of DCS BIOS in my cockpit building on my "todo" list for 2020. Have you thought about using an approach similar to what Sim Innovations' (https://www.siminnovations.com/) uses for their Air Manager program? It is wiki based and makes it extremely easy for beginners to access the information they need to build custom panels and instruments. Sim Innovations' YouTube channel has several tutorials showing how to use their wiki to program instruments and panels. For example this particular one shows programing seven segment displays.

Is there a way to be logged in to two different user accounts on the DCS website at the same time from the same computer in order to "admin" dedicated servers on two different accounts? I have tried doing it using the same browser and from separate browsers, but the DCS website appears to force you to logout of one account in order to log the other.

TARGET not deactivating physical devices when TM virtual combo active
TWC_Alamo replied to TWC_Alamo's topic in Thrustmaster
I had hoped Microsoft would have fixed this problem in Windows ver 1903, but apparently not. I spent the last couple of days reinstalling all my software after a failed upgrade to version 1903. I guess a "clean install" is good for the soul. However; this bug is still present in 1903. I had to remove the Microsoft Windows Store to get rid of it. -
JR, Thanks for the reply. I saw your comment about GitHub corrupting the download zip file, so used "git" to clone the repository. I don't consider myself a CAD expert by any stretch, but I am smart enough to compare the file names listed as major assemblies in the README.MD file with the contents in the MCAD folder on GitHub and identify that the referenced file was not present. I do understand the basics of the CAD file relationships and parametric modeling. However, I don't have access to Solid Works, so am trying to import the files into Fusion 360. So far, I have been able to successfully import the ejection seat. I understand the project is a work-in-progress and some parts may be incomplete. At this point, I am just trying to understand what is what in the project and to see what I can do with what's there at this early stage. My goal is to try to export the cockpit structural elements to be able to take to my CNC. Appreciate all your hard work and please understanding I'm not complaining, just thought you'd want to know about any issues that turn up.
-
Thanks for all the incredible amount of work and going ahead a publishing the files as a "work in progress." The README.MD file lists "Center Tub.sldasm" as one of the high level assembly files, but there is no file by that name in the MCAD folder. Could it be called something else?

Looking to develop a TARGET profile for F-16
TWC_Alamo replied to AKA_Clutter's topic in Thrustmaster
F16C Target Profile for VR If you want to just get up flying the Viper in VR instead of spending hours figuring out TARGET scripting and then programming your own profile, why not just load up HomeFries's (HF) TARGET profiles. He has just added the F16C to the list of supported a/c. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=116454 HF has spent years developing these profiles, they do a lot and they support all the DCS a/c. He has programmed in support for Voice Attack/VAICOM, simple radio and other communication programs as well as support for VR. HF is very responsive in squashing bugs and bringing out new profiles when DCS launches new modules. He had the F16C available less than a week after the F16C early release. Also the profiles are FREE. I have been using them for years and highly recommend them. YMMV, so I appreciate the fact that you might get more joy out of programming your own profile than flying DCS and of course you will learn a lot in doing so. -
Sirrah, Very ingenious. Where did you buy the aluminum scaffolding pipes? You'll love pointCTRL! It adds a whole new level of immersion to VR.

Sinous, I'm not a rotor head but noticed several cyclic stick projects on Thingiverse while browsing for flight simulator files. A search on Thingiverse for "cyclic" will return several hits. Here are a couple of examples Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:776116 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2917209 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3752591 Also check out http://hc625ma.org/ for a lot of good info on DIY helicopter controls.

Unable to *not* force label setting in multiplayer
TWC_Alamo replied to Tippis's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
Tippis, This explains a lot. I have been chasing problems with disappearing and changing labels on missions running on our dedicated servers. I had set the the option "NOT" ENFORCE labels, assuming it would allow player to select whatever style they want. However, some times when a mission was edited, the labels would disappear. Turns out the clients I used to edit the missions have different default settings: one had NO LABELS and another FULL LABELS. One thing I noticed is: if I uncheck the ENFORCED check box for LABELS on the mission's customization screen, the label style will revert to the label style of the client machine I'm using to edit the mission. I wrongly assumed when it reverted to NONE it was saying it wasn't enforcing any style. However, when I set the style to FULL, it reverts to that when unchecked. Thanks for your analysis. I hope ED will address the issue. -
Same here. This has not happened to me until after the most recent update on the OpenBeta. I was flying a MP mission on the Nevada map in the 476th NTTR mission and when I landed I went below ground level. The only MODS installed are the 476th Range Targets. I have flown this map/mission for years and this has never happened. It also happened to buddy who was flying at the same time. We could lookup and see the bottoms of the hangars at Groom Lake. We must have found the secret entrance to where they keep the aliens and UFO's
-
Not at my DCS computer right now, but I believe you Select "Missions" from the DCS Main Menu and then "USER MISSIONS"
-
In your c:/users/username/saved games/dcs world/missions folder
-
I noticed this too and it is frustrating when learning to tank. Looking inside the mission, Mr. Bankler has the tankers on a rectangular courses using a mix of turning points and fly over points. Not sure if this is the cause of the wig wag behavior after 90 turns. I changed the mission to put the tankers on standard orbits with racetrack patterns between two way points over the fleet. This has removed the wig wag behavior and gives you a more stable albeit longer turn to learn to stay with the tanker. Thanks again for this excellent training tool. I try to jump in everyday, fly a couple of traps, head to the tanker to fill tanks, fly supersonic back towards the boat, dump fuel getting down to trap weight and then do a couple more traps.
-
Thanks for the reply Bankler. I do notice in the dedicated server's log that the scores are reported and if i WERE REALLY INDUSTRIOUS and SMART like you I could write some sort of the program to scrape and compile the scores. Anyway you have created an awesome tool that is the go to app for improving carrier landings!

DCS World TARGET profile for TM Cougar and Warthog + MFDs
TWC_Alamo replied to Home Fries's topic in Thrustmaster
I had the same problem awhile back. My problem turned out to be on the DCS “SPECIAL” setting page for F/A-18. I don’t have access to DCS at the moment to check the exact setting, but there are check boxes for afterburner use and detentes. Somehow one got set erroneously and I no longer had afterburners.- 2261 replies

Have you been following the PointCTRL thread? Not the ultimate VR solution, but definitely better than anything available today for flipping switches and rotating knobs in VR while not interfering with the HOTAS. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=218861&page=121

Unknown, neon76 & nagilem Were you guys finding the effect in multiplayer or only in single player? I can feel it in SP, but not MP.
