Dont worry I am quite willing to wait got enough to keep me busy just was wondering thats all, I appreciate everything you're doing. -
Viggen and M-2000C which is better performance wise for VR?
Wolf8312 replied to Wolf8312's topic in Virtual Reality
Sorry bud don't have the F15, was always kind of put off by the lack of a clickable cockpit assuming lack of depth. But I get the feeling now this is just silly and depriving myself of a fantastic experience? -
Yeah it's a bug if you look in the main thread you will see I have reported it twice, and it's apparently being worked on with a fix out next week I think!

I dont know but in a fit of insane impulsion I just bought it! Will have some explaining to do in the morning! Flying in the evening though so I guess we'll find out! -

So it wont be fixed for a week? Just wondering, simshakers for falcon and DCS dosent have this problem but it also doesent seem to support the Viggen, will there be any plans to update the older software so it can support the Viggen? -

Yeah it happens on both modules, it dosent seem to happen as frequently as before but if you fly your jet into the ground about 3 times it always seems to happen on the third time of doing so! Bigger the crash I think the more likely it will happen! -

Dont know if there has been a new update or something but the jetseat is doing that thing again were it crashes if I fly my AC into the ground. Was just playing 2.0 with no problems changed to 1.5.6 and boom seat crashes every time I crash again! -
Explosions still cause problems in VR (any way to tweak them?)
Wolf8312 replied to Wolf8312's topic in Virtual Reality
Sadly big bombings and multi explosions are still causing steam loading screen flashes. Really annoying that VIVE users have to put up with this. Turning graphics settings down as low as possible or even a temporary overclock of my CPU (4770) didnt improve matters. Did I hear that explosions will be reworked for the new engine? Anyone know if that means they will be better optimized? Apart from the bombings its running very smooth now clouds and all but its frustrating as it basically means I need to avoid bombing now! Its only a little flash but sometimes when I fly hard into the ground it can be a very prolonged steam loading screen flash. I'm hoping it will get sorted out, but starting to wish (not for the first time) that I went with a rift, as Rift users dont seem to have to deal with this nonsense! There is nothing more immersion breaking than flashing back into the steam loading screen when your supposed to be flying a plane! -
mission editor payloads seem to be limited to specific missions
Wolf8312 replied to Wolf8312's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Aw thanks man that makes sense! -
What I mean is sometimes there are different options and lets say I want to edit an instant action mission to use high drag bombs instead of MAVS I cant seem to even get the option. The payload options in the mission editor are for some reason limited! However load up a different mission and I might be able to find them. This cant be right can it?

The thing is the Viggen with the RB-75 pretty much is desperate for a trim and something to stabalize the AC so it points in the correct direction. Looking down the telescope while wobbling around and attempting to hold it steady is ridiculous. Autopiot is no help in this regard as it only faces in one direction and more often than not, not at the target way point. It needs to be fixed ASAP because it detracts from the realism a great deal.

Is there a way to fire of rockets individually?
Wolf8312 replied to Wolf8312's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Thanks Oden nice to have the option! While I have got you does the RB-75 have no zoom function, seems very much harder than it should be to spot targets! -

Just to let you know. The gunpods on the Viggen dont seem to have any vibration. -
By that I mean 1by1 2by2 Instead of in one huge barrage? I sometimes like to take my time and go at targets at my own leisure both for fun and target practice! Is this possible or is the viggens rocket barrage fixed and unalterable?
-
Just realized im not on the very latest version for 2.0 so maybe that will help. You're right though Cibit downtown vegas in the blackshark runs fine!
-
So it kind of depends on where you fly in each. If you compare countryside to countryside then vegas is better but myself I find it hard to tear myself away from flying through the city, and thats probably why I always feel as if 1.5 is giving me better performance. I am hoping though there will be many further improvements and optimizations as both versions have alot of room to get better!
-
I'm not getting good performace on the viggen with the latest 2.05 version compared to the 2.04. Mig 21 has always been terrible on vegas as well. 1.5.6 is not as good either if I dont lose the clouds, hopefully these things will be fixed soon. Actually mig 21 is working now, and viggen is largely fine too, but downtown vegas although a fantastic experience if you turn your head to one side while flying it can get a bit ghosty... Rather than flashing out of game now it only seems to flash up the basestation which is something I can live with. I think really it would be best if I conducted missions away from vegas for optimum performance.

I cant get the trim to work at all even with keyboard though it did work suddenly on a mission I flew earlier today but now nothing! It must be a bug right?

Viggen and M-2000C which is better performance wise for VR?
Wolf8312 replied to Wolf8312's topic in Virtual Reality
I just worked out how to use the mavericks, and rediscovered about 3 different buttons on my warthog that will work nicely for the many extra joystick controls that the viggen uses. What with self controlled missiles (remind me of super sheep from worms!) and telescopic mavericks the module is unique enough to be pretty much a 'must buy' though I wonder for how long it will hold my interest. I have to admit it though it would be pretty boring if the was no variation across different modules. Flying alongside my own missile in VR before it slams into a very difficult to find and zero onto target was a joy to behold! I seriously love jetbombings as well! -
Yeah you can still get a good performance cranking things up. But if you crank things up and play for a while and then drop down to no AA, shadows or MSSA (especially) it really is alot more fluid fps wise...

Viggen and M-2000C which is better performance wise for VR?
Wolf8312 replied to Wolf8312's topic in Virtual Reality
I know what you mean it is growing on me already its got some really cool weapons and I just love the speed and how well it controls! Its been a painful process mapping all the keys but I've just realized I can download some TARGET profiles which I'm hoping will make things much better cause as of now in game, its impossible to map things like the button on my Warthog that is normally used for slew. -
How to map on off function to just one button?
Wolf8312 replied to Wolf8312's topic in Controller & Assignment Bugs
Well I can just map the key to 2 buttons on my joystick and it works quite satisfyingly and as the Viggen dosent have too much demand for button space probably not worth investing my limited time at the moment. Was hoping that the solution would be something simple in game that I had missed! Control mapping in DCS is something I hope will improve in the future! -
Viggen and M-2000C which is better performance wise for VR?
Wolf8312 replied to Wolf8312's topic in Virtual Reality
What about the M2000C does that have a default cannon and is more multipurpose? Viggen is great, one of the best feeling AC's I've ever simmed with and it does have some interesting weapons, and jet dive bombing is incredibly cool. But...Its just all over a little quickly and its back to base. Without any cannons to defend yourself too, its not like you can get into dog fights on the way home or defend yourself if need be! -
Massive rocket barrages with the Viggen can cause performance problems if combined with another explosion (my death) and can result one of those god awful steam VR flashes (momentary flash out of and back into VR)! Still very annoying that we should be getting these flashes. I really hope explosions will be better optimized soon as they are vastly improved than they used to be, but it can ruin the experience if you get one of those flashes and means I have to basically avoid using certain weapons in VR. Massive prolonged explosions are basically hit and miss performance wise. Is there not some way to manually tweak explosions so they dont cause so many performance problems?

Viggen and M-2000C which is better performance wise for VR?
Wolf8312 replied to Wolf8312's topic in Virtual Reality
To be honest it flies great but not sure its my kind of AC. It kind of blows its load and then flies off again which is fun, but I think one reason I like helicopters is I like to hang around a while! I kind of miss a default cannon as well!
