  1. Seems like I misunderstood your previous comment on the VA forums then. I'll look for a fix when I'm back from work, thanks. :)
  2. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2821188&postcount=39 This fixes the black screen issue Snap views have already been reported: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=169179
  3. If you'd like to place planes on the ground, there's now a way to do it with a slight ME modification. Take note controlled AI planes explode upon spawning. (will post further modifications to spawn them uncontrolled later) To spawn planes on the ground, the following has to be added to the plane_one_point and plane_first_point tables in the MissionEditor\modules\me_route.lua file: actions.takeoffGround, actions.takeoffGroundHotShould look like this: plane_one_point = { actions.turningPoint, actions.flyOverPoint, actions.takeoffRunway, actions.takeoffParking, actions.takeoffParkingHot, actions.landing, actions.takeoffGround, actions.takeoffGroundHot, }, plane_first_point = { actions.turningPoint, actions.flyOverPoint, actions.takeoffRunway, actions.takeoffParking, actions.takeoffParkingHot, actions.takeoffGround, actions.takeoffGroundHot, },DCS will say it's an air start but they start on the ground. This way AC can be placed everywhere, as long as it's flat ground. As all the props are able to take off and land on the grass just fine, this could be a great addition to some WWII environments. :) I attached a JSGME-compatible version with a few more changes so AC can also be set to uncontrolled when spawned on the ground. 4. There's a tooltip option somewhere in the options. Only applies to SP tho, servers enforce their own setting.
  5. This is basically the same that happens to non-VR users on stutter. It shows a loading screen when DCS hangs for a bit. Nothing VR-specific here.
  6. It will receive a new one.. pretty much everything changed. :)
  7. Because of the recent changes to the DCS netcode, we are now running an OpenBeta 1.5.4 server next to our Stable 1.5.3 server. Due to this, the NTTR server has to be temporarily disabled for a week. Supposedly all the major lag issues should be gone by now, no more warping and all that, so we've set this server up for you to enjoy the latest changes to 1.5 prior to stable release. The plan is to re-enable the NTTR server once the 1.5.4 update hits stable release.
  8. Removing the options.lua fixed it for me. Another black screen appeared on saving but afterwards I could change my settings just fine.
  9. Finally we'll get lag-free multiplayer! Thanks a lot!
  10. Does everybody forget about.. PFM carrier ops? That's gonna be a blast!
  11. So, while slightly off-topic, the Su-27 does have a brake lever on the stick and no toe brakes? Just thinking of the discussion here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=168234&page=3 Seems like my memory served me right, at least for the original Flanker.
  12. It's simple: Su-27 FM is there, Su-33 only needs some changes to this. Way easier than developing a whole new one.
  13. It's a common thing to do when creating 3D models. Spaces that are usually invisible are left "transparent" as to save resources.
  15. Not necessarily. ED is a business, which means they need revenue. Masses of players coming to DCS will generate lots of revenue. Lots of revenue means they can get more resources for further development, positively affecting both sides of the community. My feeling is that it would open up a whole different world for DCS from which everyone could profit, but that's just my two cents.
  16. Guess there'd be a few reasons. I own all the modules and I fly pretty much every single one of them and still get back to fly some stuff like a 172 or Beaver in other flight sims. Thing about DCS is that it's just unmatched in terms of flight physics, damage model and systems simulation and so, yes, I would even take out a Cessna if I had a P-51 standing next to it. Just for the sake of flying a fun aircraft that's simulated sophistically. I would rather buy a C172 for DCS than I would buy one for FSX. And.. don't get me wrong, I know that DCS is a combat simulator. I enjoy almost every single module out for DCS, be it a trainer or a war machine like the Hog. I know how to use them in combat, I have fun in combat but yet DCS is my go-to flight sim for almost every occasion, even if it's just about flying around with friends.
  17. I'd guess they meant the last day will be sunday, with the sale ending on monday.
  18. It would be a massive waste of time if you didn't have any other goals in mind.. I've seen that guy on the VA earlier and he even interacted with others and he has flown AC so I figured he was probably just using his name to advertise a referral link which gains him some advantage when someone clicks on it.
  19. Der Netcode von DCS wird laut ED überarbeitet, von daher denke ich dass sich das Problem irgendwann auch erledigt haben wird.
  20. It's actually quite powerful once you understand how to use it.. it's just a little "different" somehow. As per the gimbal issue - are you referring to the stiction?
  21. It will eventually get the same treatment once the PFM knocks on the door, I'd guess it's safe to say that. However, the operational limits (real-life) of the Su-27 are lower than that of the F-15. The currently modeled behavior appears to be mostly correct, as you can read throughout this thread. Also, I really don't see this giving the Flanker a huge disadvantage as long as you know what you're doing. Before that change, you were able to pull more than 40(!)Gs. That's what I'd call an unfair advantage. :)
  24. Thanks for the clarification. So, as I read from the other posts, it's actually perfectly possible to adjust the braking power on those planes (MiG-15, L-39, Su-27)?
