  1. I don't use curves on anything else. But with my CH Rudder Pedals, if I don't use the settings that I listed above, even with a fresh calibration, even full right rudder and differential braking can't stop the aircraft from veering off the left side of the runway. It seems to be a quirk with these particular rudder pedals. And if that's the case on my rig, there's probably other people out there with similar issues. With just those small adjustments that I listed, the aircraft becomes just as sweet and cooperative as you could wish.
  2. Still having trouble taking off and landing in the Spitfire? No, there's nothing wrong with the flight model, they just didn't come to your house and tweak it to match your flight control peripherals. So here's what to do. Open the controls dialog under settings, open the Axis Tune for your rudder. Then change your settings to somewhere around this: Dead Zone 3 Saturation X 100 Saturation Y 95 Curve -5 (Yes, NEGATIVE FIVE!) You may have to play with it until it's right for your rig, but that's a good starting point. Save that and go try taking off. Now about that. Set your elevator trim to level. Even money. Watch the trim gauge just under where it says, "Down" in green on the left side of the panel, showing that your gear is down. Then down on your left is the knob for the rudder trim. Take note that the word, "Rudder" is printed on the knob and that the final "r" in "Rudder" is about straight up before you've touched it. Now rotate the rudder trim knob forward, toward the instrument panel, until the first "R" in the word, "Rudder" is straight up, where the last "r" was originally. Now, when you're ready to fly, pull all the way back, straight back, on the stick, advance the throttle smoothly and briskly, but don't slam it forward, to about 7 or 8 pounds of boost on the boost gauge. That's the small gauge with all the red on it over on the right side of the panel. Once you're past a reasonable taxi speed, let the stick return to neutral. Keep using your rudder pedals to keep her 'tween the ditches, and maybe add just a touch of back pressure to the stick once above stall speed and she should just float right on up into the sky. Once you're airborne, trim rudder and elevator such that you can fly straight and level and take your hands off the stick for a few seconds without ending up inverted or doing a loop or a nose dive. There you have it. The flight model as written by Eagle Dynamics is great. But there are a lot of different PC flight peripherals out there, and you may have to tweak the settings to accommodate yours. Same goes with other aircraft. Now as for landings, stall it onto the runway very gently, then cut the throttle completely and let her roll and bleed speed. Use the rudder pedals to keep her tracking down the runway. You did lower the landing flaps, didn't you? When she's slowed below flying speed, pull that stick back and use the other flight control surfaces to add more drag and further slow her down. When she has finally rolled out to where you're around maximum taxi speed, gently begin applying and releasing the brakes, taking care not to nose her over. You can do it. Now go practice. That's all there is to it. :pilotfly:
  3. The F-104G. And a de Havilland Dh.82a Tiger Moth, for when I just want to go out and putt around.
  4. Clyde Lassen's H-46. And an H-3. And any H-53 variants you'd care to make.
  5. Yep, instant purchase if they do an A-6. Please include a VA-115 skin!
  6. MiG-19 you say? I'll take one. And anything else that RAZBAM releases to go with it. Back to the Mirage now...
  7. Pre-purchased! That was a death-defying act, too! I just bought a new PC, it'll be here next week. It's an i7 with GTX 1080 G1, 16GB Optane RAM, and all that jazz. I also picked up a new Oculus Rift. And I raided the ED store for a bunch of planes during the autumn sale. If I ask for one more thing before the F/A-18C comes out, my wife is going to pull a .44 magnum out and ask me if I feel lucky. But the flight sim hobby is now nicely up-to-date for a while!:megalol::pilotfly:
  8. VFA-303 Golden Hawks, please. That was my last squadron before retiring. It was Charlie Hornets back then.
  9. When I fly the Viggen out of Nellis in DCS World 2 Open Alpha 2.1.1.9459 in daylight hours, the environmental light outside the cockpit keeps shifting from extremely bright to normal and back again. This is not the aircraft lights, it's the entire environment, sky and all, frequently shifting level of brightness. It's very disconcerting when flying. I used the forum search function before posting and couldn't find any reports of similar phenomenon. None of my other aircraft do this, and I have every other aircraft except the Hawk, the Aviojet, the BF-109, and the FW190. There is not problem in the 1.5 beta version, just the version 2 open alpha. If anyone could suggest a remedy it would be much appreciated. If it's something that needs to be fixed in a future update to the aircraft, then I guess patience is the answer. Aside from that, love the Viggen. Thanks!
  10. This is Digital COMBAT Simulator. As much as I'm sure that the FSX/P3D/X-Plane crowd would love to completely take over the best flight sim on the market, HELL NO! My time in DCS World is for military combat aircraft, not 747's and C172's. I'm dead set against it, to the point that if that transition ever happens, I'll find another hobby and that will be the end of DCS World. You want civilian aircraft? Go fly the civilian simulators! :furious:
  11. Your co-pilot's name is Dimitri. The crewman is Yevgeni. Everything should go better when you fly the Mi-8MTV2 now that you've been properly introduced to the other guys. Glad I could help. :pilotfly:
  12. How far out are we for refining the details on this module? As an example, if you look at the HUD glass, it looks kind of ragged as opposed to the smooth, nicely finished glass that can be seen in actual photos of the Mirage 2000C cockpit. Things like this may seem like small matters, but I haven't bought the module yet because I'm waiting for the various bugs that I've seen posted to be addressed and for the refinements, like the HUD glass. I will be buying the module eventually, but I'd like to be closer to the finished product. :pilotfly:
  13. Did I mention a Draken? A Draken would be really nice.
  14. The L-39 or MiG-15 will both make you happy. It's hard to say which is better. For choppers, the Huey or the Mi-8. Either one will please you. A new stick? Under a hundred, I have had very good luck with the Thrustmaster T.Flight joystick (not the T.Flight HOTAS) which I use with a CH throttle quadrant and pedals. It works fine with the CH gear and it's cheap. I've had mine for years and it still works great. For just over a hundred it's hard to beat the CH Fighterstick. They're tough as nails, last forever, and work very well. If you add them to the CH throttle quadrant and CH pedals, you can program the whole package as one controller through the CH software and everything works great. Amazon has all that stuff. 15. Standing on guard for Canada. Oubaas :pilotfly:
  16. Great news! Keep up the good work, folks! I will be buying all of your future offerings based on my experience with the Gazelle, which I find to be a joy to fly. I've never flown a Gazelle in real life, but it certainly feels very believable to me.
  17. Go for it! If you produce what's described, I'll buy it the moment that it's released.
  18. I'll be looking out for that then! Thanks for the good news!
  19. A-6E DIANE. Yep. Insta-purchase. Don't forget a VA-115 skin. Insta-purchase along with the AV-8B and all future Harrier variants. And I'll probably buy the Tucano, I like the little buzzer. And the Pucara and/or OV-10D+. And I still need to grab the M2000C, of course. And probably pretty much everything else on the RAZBAM production schedule. A SLUF would be nice. Either the A-7A with the TF-30 and old avionics package or the A-7E with the TF-41 and the new avionics package with HUD, CCIP and all. Or both. I may have to assign my direct deposit to Eagle Dynamics. There's so much coming, and I want it all. :D
  20. Cripes! I may as well just change my direct deposit so my pay goes straight to RAZBAM. :pilotfly:
  21. All U. S. Navy and Marine Corps aircraft are of interest. All Russian aircraft are of interest. All helicopters are of interest. An F-104 Starfighter would be of interest. An English Electric Lightning F6 would be of interest. A Gloster Javelin would be of interest. A Mirage III would be of interest. A Fiat G.91 would be of interest. A Dornier Alphajet A would be of interest. But honestly, I'll probably buy whatever you make, eventually. All of it. Unless you do something really crazy like making a Vought V-173 or something. That I might give a miss. Oubaas
  22. Until the entire history of U. S. Navy and Marine Aviation has been covered up until today, and then the complete inventory of Russian aircraft from the start of Russian military aviation until present, all other aircraft are superfluous, including, but not limited to, Zoomie (USAF) aircraft, British aircraft, French aircraft, German aircraft, etcetera and so on and so forth... :megalol:
  23. Give me an Su-15, an Su-22, a MiG-23, a MiG-27, or a MiG-25.
  24. F-4J or F-4N in VF-151 and VF-161 liveries.
  25. Practicing low speed handling and landings at Creech.
