  1. Not seeing it in the axis controls options.
  2. As I recall, ACM puts the Phoenix in a 'maddog' mode, where it automatically turns on it's radar the second it leaves the rail and starts chasing the first thing it sees. This is opposed to it's normal launch procedures, where it is guided to the target area by the f14 radar before turning it's missile radar on when it gets within 10-15 miles of the target, making it full fire and forget. Till then it's semi active homing. The PH 's radar range is only 10 +/- 1 miles. So if you fire one in ACM if the target isn't within that range it won't track anything.
  3. Do you have to download all the aircraft you have "again" when you install the beta version? I have the release version but don't really want to download 1 TB of aircraft again... took me near 4 days to do that for release version. Can I just copy paste the aircraft folder files and paste them to the beta file?
  4. I've noticed that if I survive a missile hit and still have power from both engines, they seem to run hot, which causes the governor to dial back their power output? (Not sure, just going by the instruments). Now most of the time the power output when I'm this seriously damaged is pretty much break even, meaning I can keep my altitude but will quickly stall in a gentle climb. This is even after ejecting payload to lose weight. But sometimes I need to climb to avoid terrain obstacles ahead, which means I need more power from the damaged engines. I tried flipping the fuel switch to override, but that seems to just overheat the engines and cause shutdowns. I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong. Is there is a way to get more power out of engines after a bad hit, or is it just a SOL scenario?
  5. As relaxing as a waterfall being used to waterboard you.
  6. I have a problem where the DCS auto updater won't work sometimes. I was wondering if the current non-beta build was 2.5.4 or 2.5.3?
  7. Thanks! I got one, can't wait till april or so.
  8. Mfcds, cdu, HUD controller, anyone know of peripherals that you find useful on multiple if not all modules in DCS?
  9. Can anyone that used both mod and original sensor tell me what the difference is? Is it just better accuracy? Better feel?
  10. Well, it's a campaign mission, I didn't check the AI loadout, but I'll try.
  11. AI is terrible when it has to fly low/follow terrain, with helicopters they fly straight towards mountains then pull up at the last second, breaking their momentum, making missions where you have to follow AI last hours when it should take 30 minutes. sometimes they break missions because they will not land when the mission calls for it, leading to event triggers never firing. Also, AI Helicopters providing fire support wander away from the AO and never engage the enemy, forcing you to try and take out an unrealistic amount of enemies by yourself, and having to reset and replay the mission/return to base and reload if you run out of ammo. In aircraft, AI is completely ineffective when fighting in mountainous/hilly terrain, unable to fire on the enemy for some reason. They also seem to meander into known SAM sites when the mission calls for you to avoid them and drop their payload when they can easily defeat a launch. These may be just funny, quirky bugs if it wasn't for the fact that all these bugs adds hours of frustrating unnessesary playtime for players, some of which may not have much time to play in the first place. Without an ability to save midmission and these bugs that break missions an hour into it, or make it artifically difficult due to poor AI, I wish that AI could get a little bit of a tuneup to improve the content quality in the game.
  12. I'm experiencing the weirdest thing. I'm playing the "Old Girl" mission in the Spring Tension campaign for the mi8 and all of a sudden it freezes. I usually wait for it to crash so I can submit a crash report that way, but after 3-5 minutes it unfreezes, plays normally for 5-10 seconds before freezing up again for 3-5 minutes. Then unfreezes and continues that way for an unexplained reason. Anyone else experiencing this?
  13. No, I mean the actual geopolitical location.
  14. I ended up doing this, until I can find one of those tiny atari joysticks (at least one that has better reviews than the ones currently in production) I'll probrably stick to this setup. I find using that little throttle stick is the best way (in my experience) to control the RB-05.
  15. I couldn't find any news about whether a Swedish map was being made for the AJS-37 Viggen. Is there one being made? If not, why not? It doesn't seem to have been operated outside Sweden. (according to Wikipedia, anyways, so if I'm wrong, let me know.)
  16. My guess is Belgium since the development was announced the same time blue nosed bastards of bodney was also released. Maybe they're going to make a second campaign for the p51/47 on a Belgium map for operation bodenplatte?
  17. Nope, wait, I'm an idiot, I thought the beta update was the 2.5 stable update.
  18. got it repaired for the 2.5.3 version but it won't update to the 2.5.4 version.
  19. Ran out of space, on a whim copy paste folder to new SSD. Might have borked it cause it won't let me download new purchases or download the new update. Any suggestions? I tried running the updater from the system files but it launches DCS instead.
  20. I think my mind's been changed, didn't really know about the strait of Hormuz incident. I bought the map as a result.
  21. Yeah, I have the right frequency. Though it only seems to hang with helipads and not airport runways.
  22. Is this bugged or is there a way to get ATC to accept my hover check/takeoff? They clear me to do it but after I do it, they just don't respond or accept that I did it, so the radio menu is stuck on "cancel takeoff" "cancel hover check", because ATC still thinks I'm on the helipads while in reality I'm long gone.
  23. I see. Kinda weird they're still smoking though.
