I disagree, I much rather prefer them keeping projects secret and only releasing info when its coming close to EA release, but thats just my personal opinion. And as far as the Hind goes, shame she isnt coming this year but if you added 1+1 you would have seen this coming. We'll see in 2018!

So many people are already crying because Belsimtek charge 15 bucks for a GPS. So many people are already crying that the AV-8B is going to be 10 bucks more expensive after pre-sale ends. And yet, you are proposing to let people pay for changing a nose cone, removing a radar and adding a gunsight. Who in the world would pay for something like that? And if there were some people that wanted to pay for it, it would not be worth the effort to reward ratio, as you need documentation, a model, textures and a code for it all. Its not as simple as you are trying to project it here by comparing it to tanks, which last time I checked were completely different things then aircraft. Oh and that last paragraph, no thank you.

You are mixing two entirely different things up completely. If you are going to be the clever guy, you should give it some more effort and check your knowledge on stuff.

Yes, and from this post on their website it looks like the Mi-24 is in a further state as the F-4E, as they were 'continuing' work on the Mi and only 'started' the F-4 at that time. But only time can tell...

Allright ladies and gentlemen, its on. The prime time of DCS World has come upon us with the start of the pre-purchase for the Harrier available as of today. I think this marks the start of a new time for DCS with many, many great things to come. To name but a few: F/A-18C F-14 DCS World 2.5 And so on.. The three above have been (read the following word very carefully) scheduled for this year. This year is coming close to only having two months left. This leaves us with two questions which can be toned down to two words. If (will it be in 2017) and when (when in 2017).Im very much against asking for release dates and asking when stuff is ready, I know, its ready when its ready. But what is more fun then discussing this kind of stuff, to let some of that excitement steam off. Another reason for me creating this thread is the fact that several people have reported been given different format serial numbers for the AV-8B, which I think is a clue for different or updated security measures. Perhaps this is a sign for 2.5 being close? The Great Merge? By the way, this thread is purely aimed at discussing of when is what to come, I know that in a way this is pointless, but we gotta have something to do with the time we have to wait.. So with out further ado, let your imagination flow and give every one the hype virus with your theories about what is when to come..

Why does everybody want to throw their money right away and spam refreshing the product site? If you pre-purchase it right now, tomorrow, next week, its not like its going to release earlier..

The post you are quoting is aimed at keys from G2A and Kinguin etc. So if you buy from those websites, ED can not help you, thats what the message is aimed at. The post you are linking is about the cross-platform activation. Keys bought on website (E-shop) > Will not work on Steam and vice versa. Simple as that, no need for revisions :)

Lol, and Im sitting here using this feature for a couple of weeks now and just thinking it was there all the time and it was just me who never realized. I guess we do need to see those changelogs, there might be more surprises :D

The only option I can see here if someone makes a mod that changes the model and/or texture, if that even manages to pass IC. Adjusting performance (providing one knows how) will definately not pass IC, thus that would be impossible.

Basing on the fact that the gun is fixed, I can imagine its not so hard for the Russians to make a sight that tells exactly were the gun is going to impact, but I could be wrong...

Sure, nice wish. Would love it too. But I think we have to be realistic. I think this will be way too much work for the feel of immersion you get out of it. Also, I can see how this is going to be a problem in multiplayer with framerates and/or lag issues. You would have to make different animations for every aircraft/module and so on. I think we should tone it down a little bit and just be able to get in and out of a aircraft/helicopter with a keybind and no fancy animations. This way you can do your walkaround and see the model externally, but it would be nowere near as much work as the OP described.

Indeed. I think even the Russians themselves kinda admitted that the turret was incredibly inreliable. Also, the 12.7 mm doesnt really pack the punch that the 30mm cannon does, so it would only limit the things you could do with the chopper.
