  1. Number 12 and 13 on your list are definitely fixed on the beta.
  2. It seems to be mouted directly on the hardpoint. Does the aim120 not need a launcher like the sparrow? If so that would be good news since the launchers add drag. Especially the sparrow launchers are incredibly draggy.
  3. I think this comes from the nature of the hornet’s FCS. When you adjust the power after having trimmed for onspeed AoA the airplane will automatically make pitch adjustments to maintain set AoA and speed. Which is why when you increase power the plane will not speed up but instead pitch up to keep AoA.
  4. If you disable x,y and z axes in the trackir software you won’t have to worry about these things.

    TWS mode?

    Not yet.
  6. There is a video on youtube of an f15 pilot who survived a supersonic ejection. The video claimed he was the only one at the time. From his description of the event it sounded like something you'd want to avoid.
  7. The y-axis for me is inverted in all planes including BMS. I think it’s just the warthog being weird.
  8. I`d buy the harrier. F5 is too limited imo with only 2 missiles and bombs being extremely hard to get on target. I can see how some would appreciate the challenge though. Also the engines are really weak. Harrier is far more interesting with Vtol. Mavericks, targeting pod, carrier ops, sidearms and a much more powerfull engine. Although it is limited to subsonic speeds.
  9. I’ve gotten locks with aacq. Remember that it takes several seconds for the radar to complete it’s sweep. And I’ve found that it is important to not maneouver while it is acquiring.
  10. That would only change what a single «shoot pulse» from the plane does. It would still be quite possible to program the plane’s computer to give x amount of pulses with y intervals to the pod from a single press on the pickle button. That does not mean that the f18 necessarily has this ability however. But most planes do so I don’t see why not.
  11. Would 4 sparrows + launchers really cause more drag than 8 1000lb bombs + racks? Seems wrong to me. I made a mission with 2 hornets everything equal except one carrying 8 bombs and the other carrying 4 sparrows(on the wing hardpoints). The one with bombs maxed out at Mach 0,97 at 20000ft and the one with sparrows maxed out at Mach 0,90. Both at 100% mil power. Track attached. dragtest.trk
  12. Is there a noticeable reduction in drag with the pylons gone? I know the main point of this is to have a cleaner look while performing "air shows".
  13. I have similar experiences. Contacts often disappear for no apparent reason.

    Auto Start?

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen some of the youtubers refuel and rearm with the aircraft running. It would be the most likely scenario since it’s only the FC3 aircrafts that require you to shutdown the engines.
  15. Do they lose the folding-wing capability?
  16. I did a buddy lase with an a-10c. It worked perfectly. Not sure about combined arms. The laser code would probably have to match. Can you set the code in combined arms?

    Mirage

Yes yes. Of course. It was by no means meant as criticism. I think it's pretty cool actually. It makes sense to my limited understanding of aerodynamics that an aircraft with only one wing will be inherently unstable and require computer assistance. The switch will not be touched under normal operations. But I have to try these things out of course. :)

Is this the first fly-by-wire plane in DCS? It flies completely differently from all the others. No matter how hard I yank the controls the plane stays smooth and in control. Until I turn of the FBW system that is. Then it becomes an absolute monster ready to kill you without hesitation. First time I turned it off in-air the plane immediately flipped on it's back and broke both its wings. Then I tried turning it off before take-off and I was able to keep it in the air for a couple of minutes before I pulled the stick a little bit too hard and it snapped it's wings off again.
  19. I second this. Has always been a bugbear for me. Funny thing is if I have force feedback enabled and try to trim with my TM Warthog the FFB joystick will move even though it is not set as the pitch and roll axis in the A-10c
  20. An extra level of Model Visibility I still can't spot planes at all.
