The name “launch and steer” seems to imply that if I launch a missile it will track this target. I thought LTWS could not do this. Does it switch to STT automatically?

If you are fighting AI and they get on your six you can always cut throttle, apply brakes and make them overshoot. Just like top gun. Remember to fly evasively so they don’t hit you with guns. Remember to light the burners when you see that they are about to overshoot since the AI will invariably go vertical when this happens.

It could be that you are forgetting to turn IFF on. It needs to be enabled now. And yes. The default box is square now while it used to be diamond until confirmed friendly. This should cut down on teamkills at least.

Only the sith deal in absolutes! Kidding aside there are already plenty of compromises to make this GAME fun. Like rearming, repairing, labels, f10 map, externals views. Many of which can be turned on/off. Why is another one a problem. No one is forcing it on anyone. If you want complete realism no one is stopping you from putting on a helmet and bringing a couple of “pee bags”.

I don’t like air-quake either. So no one else should be allowed the option. I don’t care if the mission designers can force required alignments so that I can choose to play in “realistic” servers. Everyone should play like me.

Many servers do not have hot start slots. 8 mins is a long time. Especially on the pvp servers where it’s easy to get shot down. I hope they include the option for pre-aligned like the mirage and the harrier has.

I would puke in 2 seconds if I was in the backseat with VR. When I am controlling the aircraft at least my brain can prepare for the motion when I move the stick. I guess I’d have to spend the flight head-down.

Yes. I believe that is correct. I wish the caret wouldn’t move up and down but rather stay in one place marking the center of the vertical scan zone.

Will you design this with the finished f18 in mind? In the book they use targeting pods and gps guided munitions which we don't have yet. This sounds good. Will probably buy this once it's released. I liked the book even though the crazy iranian bad guy was unnecessary imo.

I also had trouble getting vertical scan to lock anything yesterday. I was in a turnfight with a fighter. It was very close. VACQ would not lock. Once I got him in the center of the HUD I switched to boresight and it locked instantly. This happened more than once.

Did you turn IFF on? I didn't know I had to do that since it defaults to ON in SP mission where you start in the air. Press the IFF button on the UFC and press ON.

Is this delayed fuzing a new thing. I distinctly remember blowing myself up many times in the a-10c and in the f18 in the past. But now the bombs don’t explode when I drop them from a low altitude. This goes for gbus and mk-8x bombs.

If you want to go full realism you should keep in mind that on a carrier deck you always have to be in IDLE thrust when turning. A safety precaution to avoid blowing people of the deck with sweeping thrust. So you have to build up enough speed before you start to turn.

I didn't say you were wrong. I'm just not interested. I only care about what the plane is capable of and if ED decides to include that capability or not. Find me documentation that states the block 50 is incapable of carrying the lau-88 and prove me wrong.

According to f-16.net it has the capability to carry 8 Mavericks. There is a difference between “can not” and “does not”. Do you have any documentation that states that it is not possible?

The f16 has an awesome cockpit with a Much better HOTAS system. As a bonus the stick is identical(almost) to the warthog stick. It can carry 8 Mavericks which is even more than the a10 and twice as many as the f18. But the f18 can carry twice as many missiles. I base this on our current f18, which could improve, and the f16 in falcon bms.

Will we get the GBU-39 SDBs on the viper? Those really kick ass in Falcon BMS. Massive range if dropped at high altitude and you can carry four of them on each wing.

Yes. The new E model now says LASER with big letters on the missile. This saved me from taking the wrong version on a flight today.
