Yes. But sometimes there are clouds. -

Are you guys able to land JDAMS on vehicles? I never get accurate enough. I understand that it may not be realistic to expect that kind of accuracy but I'm curious if there is some trick to it. It's probably meant for bigger things like buildings, bridges etc. A little OT but the main issue appears to be resolved. -
It starts when you long-press coolie switch left or right but it keeps going for 2 or 4 sweeps, depending on the setting, after you start it. Also worth noting is that you have to change it for both EID and AAI if you want both to last longer.

It determines for how many radar sweeps the IFF scan is active. I always set it to 4 when I can remember. I wish there was a 6 bar setting, since that is usually the EL setting I'm running(mostly because it's the default), so that it would stay on for a full scan volume.

Good list. I mostly agree. IMO litening/sniper pod, mavericks, GBU-15/AGM-130 should be among the higher priorities simply because it gets a little old to just drop bombs. Having AGMs adds a little spice to the gameplay. And the Lantirn really sucks. Almost impossible to identify anything because of the low res. But except those things I think they should flesh out the basics that you have listed before going to the more advanced things like datalink, jhmcs and such.

I think war thunder forums are a better fit for you.

The problem is the tgp pod we have atm moment is <profanity>. That's not because it's beta. The simulated pod is very old tech so it's supposed to be that way. Same as the Tomcat I believe. If you haven't done so push the "EXP" button on the right side on the TGP screen. That will give you an extra zoom step, sort of, which might help in some situation. Good news is we will, eventually, get better TGPs. Although at the current rate of development it might take a while.

Ok. since there were so many different answers I did some testing: 30000ft heavy weight(2 bags 4 120s 9 gbu12s tpod) TAS kg/km AoA 552 9,106 14,8 536 7,967 15,0 501 7,724 15,6 452 7,775 16,9 light weight(jettisoned all the stuff, tpod remaining TAS kg/km AoA 588 9,002 13,5 506 5,626 14,5 457 5,548 15,5 421 5,494 16,5 25000ft heavy(same as 30000ft heavy) TAS kg/km AoA 571 11,607 13,7 515 8,551 14,4 465 8,514 15,4 425 8,478 16,5 390 9,011 17,7 Because I'm a dummy I forgot that there are two engines. so all the values under kg/km needs to be doubled for true consumption. But the conclusion seems to be AoA 16,5 is a good place to be. And also fly as high as you can while maintaining that AoA.

Will there be a submenu of sorts that gives information on stuff like opt. mach, altitude for max endurande/max range etc. like the viper and hornet has? And in the meantime. are there any rules of thumb about this?

The only real struggle without a hotas is Air to air refueling and in general formation flying due to the "throttle" on the t16000m being fiddly. I think. It's easy to bind anything you need on the keyboard. It has way more buttons than any throttle after all. Hotas adds a lot to the immersion though.

If I was the publisher I certainly wouldn't let people trial an unfinished product. I'd make sure the product represented as close to the final product as possible first. Right now there's alot of things missing.

Too slow really. I was up high hunting migs but got stuck heads down too long and didn't notice that I had been nose high and lost all my speed.
-
Understood. Thanks. Although I did notice at 40k+ feet the flaps helped me maintain speed at a lower power setting. So the extra lift and subsequent lower AoA must have outweighed the extra drag from the flaps. It was weird because the plane slowed down, dropped flaps, started speeding up again and when the flaps raised again it started slowing down.

How far away are they? You are scanning up to 16k feet at the cursor and you are at 13k yourself. If they are closer than 40nm and at 15k feet they may be above your scan zone.

Is it recommended to leave the switch in auto/down during normal flight?
-
Expand does help I admit but the f15 still has better IFF symbology.

F16 without datalink: F15E same picture: Is the F16 really clearer? It can't even track the viggens properly at this range.

You can definitely IFF a STT target, after the latest update you can even have it done automatically. If the target is friendly the radar contact will blink, easy to spot. You don't have to lock anything to enter TWS. You just push auto acq down and then immediately press forward or aft, depending on which TWS mode you want. No need to wait for it to lock. If there is a cluster of planes you just enter TWS mode, lock them up(it does this automatically) and it will interrogate all of them for you. Friendlies turn into circles. Simple. I've been flying the F15E since release and I've not had any problems with friendly fire. If the target is friendly the radar contact is blinking at you! If you still decide to fire that's on you. Also a tip: After the recent update you can turn on automatic IFF interrogation on STT and PDT targets.

Once it gets datalink it will be a formidable BVR plane. With empty CFTs it will out accelerate a mirage 2000c. We must remember that it carries a ridiculous amount of fuel. A full F15E should be compared to a mirage with wing tanks really. I just tested. A mirage at 40k will go from mach 1 to 1.5 in 2m 9s(4 missiles, full internal, no tanks) F15E(8 amraams, empty CFTs full internal, no external tanks) 1m 56s It can carry 8 of the best missiles in the game. It has the best radar in the game. Speed and acceleration is certainly competitive, if not among the very best. It has very good high altitude performance. It will certainly struggle in WVR. But they say it will get JHMCS and 9x and since it can turn pretty well for a little while it should still be dangerous since it can pull 9Gs hopefully long enough to get of a 9x.

correct as-is Furry-Fabric Upholstered Cockpit Seat
Tenkom replied to Bob1943's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Sheepskin is used because it doesn't compress while still providing comfort. If they used foam or something like that then during an ejection then the seat cover would compress and the subsequent impact of the seat hitting your ass could have adverse affects on your spine. I heard this explanation from a pilot interview. -
Are you sure the Dogfight mode button is not pressed?
-
For me the autopilot works perfectly almost all the time, sometimes it can start pitch oscilating at very high altitudes and sometimes a few wobbles when reaching a set alt but that is rare. The trim, after correcting the pitch up happening after flaps up, also is totally care free until landing.

How to set burst height? Manual only says same as other jdams.
