I see... although in my case I would be more concerned with the physical gimbal's durability - bearing in my my previous TM products (the T.16000M already shows some discrete play / wobble on Y axis).
-
Thank you Sokol, now I understand it. If I can acquire them relatively fast in my country, it will be TM hotas magnetic base with it, as those 2 products fit in my actual budget. (It could have been the Virpil base, but it takes too much time to come by.)

I'm getting inclined to buy the TM F/A-18 grip (+ TM hotas magnetic base), does anyone knows what does it mean, at the product's info file : " excluding implementation of button 19 " ? Or what is button 19 ? Thank you.

Thank you for the reply rob10, I believe you, but the time to wait and some of their prices... In my case if I go to Virpil, it really would have to be the WarBRD... because the Mongoos T-50CM2's base cost is prohibitively high.
-
I fully agree, but when would it arrive at my door (in Portugal) ?
-
Thank you Sokol for the great advice. Yes, I've read here that it is possible to make such a combo (F-18 TM grip + Virpil / VKB base). Sure the more advanced mechanical options from Virpil and VKB are more robust and durable than the Thrustmaster Hotas base, and because of that I very much prefer them. But one of my issues with Virpil and VKB is: the availability of their products. Don't know if it's still like this: wait for stock anouncement; quickly order on the site; wait for it to be assembled and then shipped ? And after gattering the money a VPC WarBRD Base costs today ( 189,95 €, before tax ) and having to wait I don't know how many months, before it finally arrives at my door... doesn't attract me much.

Thank you guys for the insight. My concern was that it might be the old-school interior mechanics / potentiometers, as I believe these are more prone to fail earlier than an HALL device. So this "Thrustmaster HOTAS magnetic base" can't be worst (reliability / durability wise) than a T.16000M right ? (Because I was looking for a Virpil grip + base, but this one from TM + an F/A-18 grip is cheaper and easier to get available.)
-
I'm thinking about buying this base with the F/A-18C grip eventually. ... it mentions: " The base features H.E.A.R.T Hall Effect AccuRate Technology, with 3D (Hall Effect) magnetic sensors for surgical precision that won’t decrease over time. " So, is it Hall Effect technilogy, or is it the old scholl physical gimbal with potentiometers ? Thank you.

Hello, Also have the T.16000m, what I do notice after 1 year of use (it is 2 years old already) is a little play on the Y axis from the center. Did any of you ever lubbed the interior ? Thank you.

... man... this kind of stuff never ceases to amaze me.

Thank you!

Su-30MKK Full fid or FC3 version?
Top Jockey replied to TaxDollarsAtWork's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
Sure, why not $400 ? They do ask $80 for a more "complex" weapons system like the F-14 Tomcat... but someone could ask $200 for remanufactured 3rd generation interceptors. -
Nice to see. By the way, how does one get the FLOLS "virtual" cue which appears on screen around time 5:27 ? Thank you.

Same point of view here.

Thought I read somewhere, they were trying to give us the Tomcat A version this October...

Airframe wise i must agree. http://copy-cats.work/aircraft02/sukhoi-su-15-ussr-shenyang-j-8-china

No, from Portugal I don't know original designs... and copies neither. Also for my part this is not "country A versus country B"; I'm just calling things as I see them. But so you can see I'm really not against anyone, in terms of airframes I can tell you what I do find a somewhat original chinese design: the J-20. (Because although some similarities, the J-20 airframe also has some notable differences from the american F-22 and the russian Su-57 designs.)

Hello bies, You have provided several insight regarding the MiG-29A maneuverability a few months ago, when I was comparing its ACM capabilities against other types. One of these insights was that: "... MiG-29 is a stable design, it's elevators acts opposite to wings decreasing it's overall lift, this increases AoA in turn (plane needs higher AoA for given G, thus bigger drag) and cause MiG to lose it's speed in turn faster than modern unstable designs like F-16 or Su-27... " So I do have a doubt: shouldn't the MiG-29M and K variants be unstable design and fly by wire, to overcome the first MiG-29's handicaps ?
-
Don't push it... or in no time you will be reading that the airframe also is of chinese origin and the such.

You mean "ammo" ? Why ? Did you notice that this is an internet forum, not a battlefield ?
-
I surely would, count me in ! Already mentioned it around here in the past : https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4466379&postcount=93

F-14A on the 19th? *wink, wink, nudge nudge*
Top Jockey replied to Southernbear's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I see. Didn't imagine the 'temperamental' engines could be such a turn-off for you. For me it would be the other way around: if Heatblur had only featured the F-14D, with the respective modern symbology at the HUD, that would be the turn-off for me. I'm not cared, I'm curious. As I do enjoy many fine details about the F-14, eventually I also like to know other people's perceptions about it.
