Cool! Thanks for letting us know =)

The "spot in the distance" mechanic now is OK, but for me who is sitting with a 1440p screen, the spot is veeeery small. I have trouble spotting enemies far away. So this could be tweaked more, like darkening the spot-spots a bit? At least it's better than the Model Enlargement solution. (please don't bring it back ;) ) //Jarl

HOTFIX 3 update: Bug still there:

This weird, round splash-effects on the surface of the sea when wind is set (at least) to 10m/s or higher. Video footage for reference. It comes and goes, as seen in the video. I've deleted the FXO and METASHADERS folders multiple times, but it did nothing. This has been reported as an error on the Normandy map before, but I get them on both Caucasus and Normandy. //Jarl

I guess when they (ED) learn some good multi-core/multi-thread programming skills? As they now know that about half of their community flies in multiplayer, I guess dedicated servers are still on their agenda. Maybe they just need to figure out how to handle the situation with some communities having servers with modules first? It would basically make those "investments" worthless. It's a bit of a PR nightmare, I guess. I really hope they figure something out, and get it done! Multi-core optimized dedicated servers have a high potential for DCS, IMO! //Jarl

A post I did about this nearly a year ago I found a great map repository for it.=) These maps are great though it will take a helluva lot of time to make a DCS map out of them, if some of the digitization process can't be automated. Also, WHOGX5: I dream of an RA-5C too ;) The only CON I can think of is that it was only in service for 17 years. (1963 - 1980) - which is a bit short. But hey! I don't care. It looks amazing, and it was probably taken out of service because of costs, and we don't care about that in DCS ;) //Jarl

Ah, yes. It's already in this list... https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3285514&postcount=13 Oups!:surrender: (I do see he edited that post today. I wonder what's new (or missing) ^^ )

So AGM-84H/K confirmed? (From newsletter) https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/images/newsletter/20180119/FA-18C-render.jpg https://militaryedge.org/armaments/agm-84hk-slam-er/ //Jarl

EDIT: Never mind. I deleted the Default and Ground_unit config files, and now it works. //Jarl

I'm still waiting :D P.S. Good luck with the CEII though. It takes guts to open up a new segment in DCS (you and ED with Yak-52). Though you miiight have misjudged your existing customer base with this hype-campaign ;) (Depending ofc on the, presumed, other surprises)

+1 USMC to CA.

Hi! Just want to share my video of a sortie in the War Campaign we are currently running in TAW. //Jarl

Yeah, I'd like to know as well. It's something I want to know before purchasing. Will I be able to fly the Harrier from the LHA in a mission where other players don't own the module? //Jarl

At least make a framework for module developers to use for pre-flight/on-the-ground mission planning for modules where it's relevant. For example, the Viggen had a computerized planning tool for waypoints/mission planning. (Data goes into cartridge, cartridge goes into plane ;) ) So make it accessible wherever it would be relevant. So for Viggen it would be once on the ground, at an airfield. //Jarl.

+1 An overhaul of the entire server-system to get more options to mission makers in general is needed. This would be one good feature for an overhaul of that kind.

Thanks! I marked the F-4E as "probably the 80's version" as per BST's own words, but the reference you gave me is the most robust reference yet. I'll set it as fr.1977 for the moment =) As for the Gazelle, I'll mark it up on it's timeline with the different versions. //Jarl.

Buccaneer by the BANA Project
Jarlerus replied to tombeckett2285's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Hi guys. Does anyone know, perhaps even the developers, which version of the Buccaneer is being modeled? =) S.2B? (in service '73-'94) Even more specific? I'm trying to keep this list up to date with relevant years in service. //Jarl -
Just made some updates to the wishlist. Foremost some new airframes, but also a little work on the weapons-sheet. (Ugh, those are much more difficult to get info on than the aircraft! x.x ) //Jarl

In CCIP (PLAN w/ HD bombs), I get one bomb release on press of trigger, then all other release when I lift the trigger. Edit: Owh, can it be because I go to ANF, which I shouldn't? -.-' So, if I do it wrong, is the resulted behaviour still "working as intended"?

As this forum is up and running again, I thought I'd continue this conversation =) IIRC the HKP9 carried 4 TOW missiles in the mountings, and also some in the storage compartment, so that the crew could reload in the field, by themselves. With so much knowledgeable people around, I guess this claim could be easily verified or contested =) And if it's verified... Could it be implemented in DCS? ^^

Well, support it in a way; Make the rearm window module specific. So that module developers can add what ever they need into that menu/window. Salvo timings, fuse delays, specific fuel distribution, hardware changes. You name it. The Gazelle hacked the menu a bit, with it's filters and IR-shields, but those kind of needs should be better catered for. /Jarl

This is great and above my expectations! Thank you, and well done! I shall start the planning of a GUI, and hope no one beats me to it due to my latent programming skills ;)
-
Yeah, I like the idea! Being able to prepare multiple missions and then choose which one to load would be very, very handy! Some things in them could go to default values, like wind and time, if no data is set in the data-cartridge-file?
-
Yeah, it's unclear if it's a module or just an AI asset for their Harrier module.
