Lobo 12 in position Lobo 12 has the lead Nach einem overhead break mit anschließendem touch and go - die Lobos sind wieder zuhause. Zeit für ein Bier an der Staffelbar.

These liveries are also available and quite good I'd say: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3335084/ https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3332551/

Egypt used the MiG-21MF, which was the predecessor version to the -bis. It is reasonably similar inside and outside the cockpit, although the -bis has a more powerful engine and a slightly better radar. My source is Tom Cooper's book "Arab MiG-19 and MiG-21 units in Combat" from the Osprey series. It says the MF was in EAF use from 1970 onwards. I hope this really badly, one-handedly taken photo in the interest of scientific research is acceptable as non-copyright infringement

So it will also be a post-unification skin? I hope for somebody creating a German Democratic Republic (GDR) pre-unification skin. Would be neat to have such a skin as an official, included livery with dynamic (three digits) bort numbers.

DCS World 2024 Screenshots and Video Thread

Yes, correct. I'm a 2D player and for me the current system works pretty well. I have realistic (!) spotting ranges now, it's a little easier now than it was in all these years before and I am finally not losing aircraft in the near as easily as it was before. Like two years ago spotting in DCS was a nightmare for me, now it's quite ok.

Certainly no new ideas, but maybe combining a few of them into one: Beef up the loadout screen for multiplayer, i.e. include all the adjustment options that are currently only available in the ME. Include a window that shows me the selected livery - right now I cannot see what I am selecting on MP servers without external views At least add the weight information from the ME - right now we only have a percentage of fuel and a total weight - but preferably add a real weight and balance screen Add the options to add or remove things like IR supressors, extra armor and other attachments Add the option to modify channel/frequency presets Add the option to change the callsign (greying out the options that have already been taken in a MP session) (If not in a seperate window/F10 map:) Add a proper mission planner with easily selectable time on target, speed selection between CAS, TAS, GS and Mach, fuel planning, threat rings of known threats, tanker tracks,... the whole enchilada... import/export (DTC) of flight plans from and to other players... Automatic creation of kneeboard pages (mission data card, route legs on map with doghouses,...) of the flight plan... Your new waypoint tool has been a good step in the right direction, but of course it is very, very basic and needs a significant follow-up. It really is about time these things get going in DCS.

Absolutely. I (2D user) had a hard time AARing the F-4 because of the canopy bow up front obstructing the tanker lights, and I always got a sore neck from trying to compensate, but after reading this thread and Zabuzard's advice I tried relying solely on Jester and not looking at the lights at all, and voila, AAR in the F-4 suddenly became a lot easier.

Neulich bei der 1./JG71: Pontiac 2 rollt aus den Golf revetments mit einem live weapons full-mission-loadout für einen single-ship loft attack training sortie auf die Range 62A. -

I have to further investigate this, so forgive me if I'm on the wrong track here, but it appears to me whenever I use the new waypoint tool in MP with the M2000C, DCS will crash at some point during the following flight. DCS usually freezes completely then, and in 50% of the cases not even a crash message and crash report are generated. Has anybody else experienced this?

+1 Mission planning and briefing is pretty much makeshift after all these years.
-
This wish also deserves a "Noted" tag by the mods.

Good idea. For training purposes the option "dry contact" could be added. (Edit: I see s.o. else already suggested the idea here)
-
I'd also like to see AWACS/GCI giving optional vectors to tanker and to home base instead of just announcing their position relative to bullseye. Right now the DCS comm menu options even say "vector", but what you get is a bullseye position. (At least for western comms, it might be different for RedFor in DCS)

Good idea, it was already proposed a long time ago actually. This would significantly strengthen use of realistic callsigns in multiplayer. I could imagine graying out callsigns that are already in use to avoid double use of callsigns.

I'd like to read some news on the progress of the new ATC system and progress on mission planning/ DTC, especially for multiplayer. Those things have been promised years ago, and one can notice them missing every day in DCS. Progress news on the dynamic campaign system and the MiG-29 would be the cherry on top.

Flappie, I'd like to add that this bug also affects GCI in two ways: 1. No contact possible on MP servers, 2. in MP the callsign assigned to GCI will always revert to "Axeman" no matter which callsign was assigned. In my tracks you should also be able to see that in SP the assigned callsign is mentioned in the comms menu ("Mantis" in this case), while in MP it is not, which might be connected to this bug. Multiplayer on a dedicated server? Then yes, this problem has been there for a few months now, ATC doesn't reply. It's a bug introduced by ED. SP works fine.

F-4 Phantom Campaign announcement: 'Red Flag 81-2'

Now this sounds interesting! -
Yeah, "old" bug, was introduced three to four updates ago... Did anyone manage to get GCI to respond on a dedicated multiplayer server? It looks like in singleplayer it works like a charm, but in MP I can't get any contact... (realistic comms)
