  1. Since the release of the Hornet i have seen a couple of new commands in its sdef's files which Im not sure what they do so I wonder if someone can explain a bit what they control: -distance_filter_offset -silence_radius -peak_radius I can imagine a bit for their names but would like to have a more detailed info if possible. Thanks!
  2. The FM was also changed a couple of updates ago and didnt remember so many people talking about it. The increased "wobble" and roll "instability" feels correct to me, before it felt too "perfect" or artificial now the plane feels in general snappier with slightly more pitch authority. I have no numbers nor in depth info but according to videos the latest FM feels quite close except in extreme low speed-out of the envelope maneuvers where I would love to know (once for all) if the version simulated is capable of performing some of the maneuvers performed in these videos or there is some software updates in these hornets in order to enable them: Here at 1:26: I know Matt made a video doing this but while i could get closer to what you can see on the video, its still quite far from the footage...the plane seems to lack that final tail "drift"...at very low speed it seems like that final "push" is not possible, like the horizontal stabs dont want to deflect enough. I tried at a variety of fuel configs and speeds. Another maneuver that I cant replicate is one even showed in the DCS hornet flight demo at 1:30: Here is in real life (3:27): While I get close I cant manage to make it as "aggresively" as shown in the videos, again, the final "tail drift" rotation to almost zero speed is much slower and the rotated angle not so big in DCS. I thought it could also be the camera angle but after LOTS of different viewing angles I definitely cant perform that maneuver in that way. In DCS the Hornet wants to continue the loop in a "circle" way instead of "breaking" the loop and suddenly set itself at 90º with respect the followed trajectory in the last second. Also, I wonder if that last bit of performance is lost because the NO PYLONS FM is not yet present?...any info about the state of this configuration's FM would be great.
  3. +1000, I cant remove these trucks either...
  4. Nice work mate!!, thanks for it! :)
  5. Oh, ok, I thought it was an actual "page" not the use of the TCD to control the options in the perimeter of the radar's page...sorry then!, and thanks for the help to both! Btw, I was interested on this because when slewing in the hud to designate ground targets for "AUTO" bombing mode, at least for me, the TDC moves EXTREMELY sensitive while not the case when slewing the cursor on the radar page which is fine once configured in the control settings but as they are the same control I cant configure the cursor for ground designation separately thats why I thought maybe there was a page where you could configure the TDC, kind of the one in the A-10C where you can choose sensitivity... thanks!
  6. In the latest news letter it says: "Added Hornet radar page TDC control" Can someone please tell me where is that DDI psage and what is supposed to do? thanks!
  7. +1, also the explosions effect dissapears at very close distances, then you zoom quite a bit and suddenly the smoke/explosion itself appears abruptly again. Also noticed a noticeable decrease of trees at some places.
  8. It would not be that nice without your work so thanks to you for it Luft!!:)
  9. Thats what I meant, in DCS right now, even when the plane is performing maneuvers very close to the listener as soon as the plane shows its nose to you there is almost no sound which is not realistic imho so you agree with me because the sound level in DCS when flying at similar distances as in the video is way different.
  10. Thanks mate!:) , yeah, luft is a great guy and a great artist, you also are making some great stuff already!;) Enjoy!!:)
  11. lol :D, thanks mate!, hope you enjoy the updates!;) Btw, I made a mistake when uploading the file and uploaded an older version (also didnt notice when takung the screens so most of them are not using the latest file). i fixed the problem a few hours after the update but if you want to make sure to have the good one look at the left LERX and see if you have the big arrow in the "ledder" decal, then you have the good one, otherwise please, download again. Sorry for the inconvenience! Bye!!
  12. Hi guys, just wanted to share with you my last skin, this time I choosed the C.15-39 (the one send to the RIAT 2017) and made a weathered interpretation (based on real life pics and few aspects of this unit). The biggest part of the job was focused on the materials weathering so you will see most of the detail there. Also i decided I wanted to make a more realistic nozzles, particulary for this unit so based on pics of real world I managed to achive some cool effects on them and make them look more detailed and realistic, especially in the material department. Some features: -Detailed weathering not only for the difuse color but also for the materials. -Improved nozzles with proper color and shape effect for this unit. -Custom pilot helmet and its material. -Dust over the cockpit desk (also material effect). -Detailed decals and crew names. -Weathered fuel tanks with their materials. ***A big THANKS to "Luft" for his amazing work adding lots of new details for the ED's template, many of them included in this skin. More pics: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3589812&postcount=15421 Hope you like it!!:)
  13. Update to v2.0 ready for download Update 2.0: -Added all remaining access doors tags and their respective paint clearance. This was possible thanks to the GREAT job made by "Luft" and his improved template. Thanks mate!! -Refined some fuselage lines visibility. -Added new realistic and improved nozzles with proper customization for this unit. -Corrected some decals to better match the ones on this unit. -Corrected some decals size issues. Also added few new screens with new version. Link in the first page.
  14. The Spanish 15-26 (C.15-39) just arrived :)
  15. To be honest Im surprised you think its ok as it is now...let me explain a few things... I know that fighter aircrafts can be "sneaky" or inaudible, like the blue angels pass BUT, take into account that in that "sneaky" pass the Hornet is flying at VERY HIGH speed so the plane is close to the speed of sound and it flies faster than the shock cone of mechanical waves it leaves behind so you see the plane fly by and after you hear its sound...this is not the case Im talking about. Im talking about when the plane is simply making a full 360º turn for instance at quite low speed (so SUBSONIC), in this case, the plane doesnt make almost any sound when coming directly to the spectator and Im very sure this is not the case in real life for any jet plane not only for the hornet (and I have watched MANY Hornet displays as Im from Spain so also very familiar with its sounds). Another factor to take into account would be the distance, which would act as a "spring", delaying the sounds when reaching the listeners giving the impression that the plane is emiting sound when watched from the front while that sound is actually the one emited when the plane was showing its rear...that doesnt seem to be the case either as watching real life displays and videos the planes emit more sound after enough time coming from the front (after I can hear the decreased sound presure with respect the previous time the plane was showing its rear to the camera). A few days ago I had the opportunity to listen, once again, to a Spanish Hornet in a big festival here in Spain and there was a hell of a lot more sound coming from it no matter the aspect except, of course, when the plane performed very high speed maneuvers. Another point is that if you watch any display video you will notice how there is much more sound coming from the plane even when viewed from the front. Before you tell me videos dont represent the real life and such, which is true, they work quite fine for the matter Im talking about in this thread because the camera wont capture what is NOT there so if there is more SPL in the videos in the situation Im talking about then it means these sounds were actually there in real life. Example: Note how there is a pretty much CONSTANT sound coming from the plane at any aspect...of course, the high speed pass is a different thing and in fact this is not a constant but a variable, changing constantly depending of the speed of the plane at any certain moment but in DCS right now as soon as you are looking at the hornet at any angle from the front there is almost no sound at all even at very close distances. With my modded files it feels much better imho because you get that "ambient" roar at any aspect angle..dont you think it sounds much more natural with the modded files??. Of course, this is not a "complain" and maybe this is just a matter of being worked as we speak but thing is I dont think its working fine as of now imo so I decided to post it. Other than that the sound is very very nice and also noticed the latest additions of high speed pass sounds which are great. thanks!
  16. Hi mates, just wonder what do you think about how quiet the sound becomes when the hornet is coming from the front...the sound in general is very nice, and maybe this is just a matter of yet being worked but imho, the sound becomes too quiet when the plane is not watched from behind or very lateral, is like there is no sound at all which is not realistic. At the same time, when you cut the engines to idle, the sound is too loud at all aspects when it should be almost quiet. Of course, Im not talking about a supersonic speed but when subsonic. To demonstrate this a bit, I made a little mod so you all can test this. Just drop the files to: Sounds/sdef/Aircrafts/FA-18 making first a back up of your original ones in case you want to go back. With the files you will notice more ambient sound and the actual presence of the plane around you even when its coming from the front...also, the blending of the whole sound stage is much smoother and the coherence of all the sounds is higher. The purpose is just to support my point and make the sound team, in case they are not awared already, to know this because I think it sounds much better with the edited files and not to make the mod itself, thats why I post this here. bye!! Hornet sound mod.rar
  17. Yep, also thought this. Agree the effect itself if great!
  18. Wow, do you really think old models are "good enough"???, Btw, I like to fly AND. take screens ;)
  19. Its a very subtle effect and I think its spot on right now imo.
  20. Looks great DonJosh!! All kudos for you mate, it was a pleasure to work with you as you are a great kind person and a true gentlemen!!! Thanks for your work mate!!:)
  21. +1 again. I want it to official instead of a mod
  22. I were about to open a thread about this...simply put, is ambient temperature taking any effect in the actual FM?? (And not only for the hornet but for all the planes, especially the ones wih AFM)...according wih your test looks like yes but maybe as a constant after setting it in the ME??....
