That's damn clever. Awesome work.

Another setting to reduce AI UFO capabilities is Restrict Afterburners. In a warbird, that apparently prevents AI spending 100% of their time using full WEP.

Did the Yak 3 ever see a K9? I did think that by the time the K9 and D4 arrived, that the Luftwaffe was pretty much 100% focused on trying to intercept and shoot down bombers over Germany?
-
Does that include axes that aren't functionally modelled in DCS?

Sharpe> I’ll say this once. Unfortunately, I’ve found so many of your responses to myself or others to be what for me were simply too combative. As such, I can’t actually bring myself to read what you’ve written. Just wanted you to know that I’m not accidentally going to ignore you. It really is deliberate. Hoping that things improve at your end!

With some of the above posts, I do wonder how some drive a car successfully. Do you have to look at the gear lever to change gear, the wiper stalks to use them?
-
Has anyone found a RAM air switch/lever? The use of RAM is mentioned in the charts. Additionally, has anyone compared indicated airspeed in cockpit, against the ground speed, as shown in F10? I had a look today, and at 2000ft, the difference seemed quite large. My guess is the conversion of knots to mph and also wind.

+1 I use both. It’s a bit like touch typing. You quickly learn where controls are. its part of the reason that most control panels use different types of buttons and switches. The exception vein items like the Thrustmaster MFDs. For those, I use small velcro blobs
-
This table mentions with and without the use of the Ram. I don't remember seeing a control for that. Did I miss something? I also find it interesting that it doesn't appear to change the power levels, just at what altitude you can use the other settings at.

Took mine on a longer range recon/strike flight last night. Full set of rockets and a centre tank. After a couple of screw ups on take off from the carrier, finally got into a nice cruise at 10k, looking for a convoy. Never found it, so strafed some oil tanks on the way home. Found an interesting learning point. I was using the ext tank for the outbound leg and also during the strafing. Finished the strafing runs at low altitude, and THEN the fuel ran out. By the time I'd switched tanks I was even lower, slow and in a bad state of trim. Promptly followed by a swim. My learning being that if you're low, using a tank that you know has fuel in it seems very prudent. Enjoyable flight. Requires a good bit of management to balance the trim, speeds, cooling. Some might have found it a bit dull as there were no other aircraft around, but I liked the challenge of trying to recreate what is more likely to be a realistic mission setting.

250mm worked brilliantly with the T50 base, but then that was designed for an extension, has less travel side to side and stronger springs when compared to say their warbird base. Knowing next to nothing about your TM base, sorry, can't comment.
-
I used the extension with a Virpil T50 base and Alpha grip. IMO, brilliant and well worth the effort.
-
With the AB9, none. Two reasons: - I found the side to side throw of the grip to be excessive with the 250mm extension - longer extension influences the torque being applied at the grip as you’ve got more leverage Just site the AB9 at an appropriate height. i have a Virpil 250mm extension and right now it’s gathering dust

well spotted! I’ll get my coat…

[Official] SimShaker for Aviators

Does that mean that it has been? If so, excellent. -
As mentioned, there's a whole bunch of variables that affect the indicated airspeed, including: Power settings, e.g. throttle, prop, mixture, using water, supercharging setting Altitude/temp and the resultant density of the air Drag from configuration, e.g. weapon loadings, canopy open/closed, opening of cooling vents etc, trim
-
There's a general DCS setting, I think within graphics or gameplay that you can disable them, though that is for all aircraft. It would be worth checking the special options for the aircraft within Mission Editor. Some aircraft have a tickbox in there too.
-
Interesting. You got a source for that? Don't get me wrong, not trying to argue with you, just curious about the source.
-
+1 just watched one and thought that it was excellent. My thanks

Option B, do what the US did, and give them to the US Marines, for use from island bases
-
LOL. Another obvious name for a kneeboard folder. RC> Thanks for advising.

The key binds for changing the pilot view up and down don’t work and the aircraft is missing the key binds to move the view forward or backwards
