If you run out of runway, just drop the hook and take the barrier (call tower and have them raise the cable) and if you need additional braking power, turn off anti-skid...but be ready for a popped tire from overheat of the brake pads on the wheels.

I flew the Spitfire after 2.5.6. update came out today and there seems to be a wind noise bug that wasn't there before. With the canopy closed, I can lean left and right while facing forward and there is no extra wind buffeted sound like normal, but if I turn and face rearward to look over my shoulders, the noise is there just like if the canopy is open. I tested this both with canopy open and closed and the problem is that the rear facing noise sounds like the canopy open noise but when actually it is closed. I further tested this against the Mustang and the sounds in the P-51D are correct in regard to canopy open or closed. Cheers,

Same here, hopefully not too many Early Release modules to add to the others that need continual progress. Optimization of the latest maps should be a focus point as well, and does anyone know if we'll will see proper kneeboard charts for Persian Gulf? I'm sure ED has a good Project Management rep keeping the Modules, Terrains, Campaigns flowing smoothly.

Cool, you'll notice that your Boost Clock (Stock-Speed) will be more than adequate to push everything up to amazing quality settings! I did the 8700K last year (6 cores running 4.4Ghz in DCS) and did 32GB DDR4 @3000Mhz and host up to 24 pilots with no stress to my system. Your internet connection quality can affect your experience so go for 250gb DL or better. Try the H80 or H100 if you can swing it for cooling. Your system you have there will be sufficiently future proof for quite a while in DCS. Congrats!

Lucky me, I found an unopened TM Warthog Box on Craigslist in my local area for $325. Sometimes DELL has them on sale for $350. Keep trying! Check here! - https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/FeUAAOSwDb1dVG~N/s-l640.jpg

Perfect, I was just going to link this too. FYI guys, if you click on the URL in the browser bar, it sometimes links the video at the point you are in on the timeline of the video...but if you copy the link under the Share shortcut, you'll pass the entire video to your friends.

Noob's first flight in the FA/18C! Bloopers ant the end!

How do we post video like that in the forums...I try to embed the link and it doesn't work...guidance appreciated! Hey Ripper, I see the YouTube link on the advanced options...what's the proper code to get or photo to post? -
Are some trains part of the Civilian Traffic in the overall game settings?
-
I just hope that all this doesn't hinder the progress on the already released modules in various states of Early Release, Alpha, Beta and post-release bug status...keep up the hard work ED! :pilotfly:

I agree, F-4s are so 1990s!
-
Hey, BTW, we need a pilot body-less QF-4 to shot down as a drone in game, thanks ED!

I worked on RF-4Cs in Okinawa and Korea and the Martin Baker looked like a transformer back then...crazy. Looks great so far!

Can't see whole text messages on top right of the screen

Hit Left Shift and CTRL Y and turn it off...you don't need to read and fly! Everyone you talk to on the radio is important, not the texters and flyers! -
Agreed, not needed as the Viper autoadjusts to 1 G
-
I agree...the Hornet was my first complex jet and it was great out of the box and even better now. The Viper is superb as well and getting better every update.

I can confirm, the light cover on the left NAV/Position Wing Light is mission the cover in all states of engine operation and the static Block 50s are also missing the same cover.
-
Phil, Reference Mission 3, it's because you're running AMD...just kidding, but in any regard, I enjoy your videos on YouTube. You are one of the best presenters in the DCS Community!

Very nice description! Thanks

I tried the Carb Air to see if it worked like Carb Heat and didn't get any effect. I was RTB at 18,000 Ft and I had lost airspeed, VSI, and ALT (all the pitot static instruments) and about 2 minutes after the engine started stuttering like my Cessna 150 did in winter over the Sierra Nevada mountains. But with no Carb Heat, the only thing I could do was descend to warmer air. I'm pretty new to the Spitfire so can anyone tell me if there is a Pitot Heat? :joystick: Agreed, but the OAT is affecting the carburetor. @Everyone: Just for research, what Altitude was everyone at when they experienced reduced engine RPM? I have had this only once in the real world and it was a learning experience as my training kicked in, I immediately turned west to my closest airstrip in Northern California, started a descent to maintain flying airspeed, and I went through the checklist in my mind and the problem persisted...and as most pilots do, they do checklist items from memory and then scan the physical checklist to make sure they didn't miss something, and I had missed pulling the carb heat. Within a minute of doing that, the engine reacted just like the textbook training told us, slight decrease in performance followed by a gradual recovery in RPMs...and for the non-pilots, Carb Heat will not give you full 100% normal RPMs as the hot, less-dense air supplied to the engine is thinner and affects total performance. So with this, I continued descent to Placerville, canceled my plans to T/G at Lake Tahoe and with everything ok at Placerville, I RTB'd to MYV.
