  1. Well this surely opens up the potential for WWII Pacific Theater Aircraft and WWII Assets like a flat-top straight deck carrier, battleships, and more.
  2. It would be nice to get more Axis/Red Aligned skins for the US variants too...please and thanks!
  3. Bombs are made of Love...Tough Love!
  4. Well said...perhaps the others requesting the big models are thinking this is War Thunder - LOL. Cheers! PS: Sorry for not doing Multi-Quotes...will try that in a single post next time.
  5. I agree, which is why if they do bring it back, make the hardest settings the Default...I hosted a PvP Dogfight Server a few years ago, and locked out easy settings like the padlocks, external views and labels and a few VR users asked if I could enable labels as they were at a disadvantage. I declined the request as then every user could use labels removing the need for effective scanning, wingman communications, and good radar use. But instead of shooting down the proposal, I think the best compromise is to bring it back with default as HARD settings! But I'm with you mate!
  6. If they bring this back, please make the smaller object setting the default...I actually like having the smallest object setting and it forced me to use my radar and MK-1 eyeball better. It also helped develop my spatial awareness and 3-D mental picture of the airspace. I particularly didn't like being able to see a bandit 20+ miles away with the naked eye at 1080p. So if it comes back, make it the exception, not the normal setting please. With the big setting on, you might as well be using labels.
  7. I was thinking that along with DCS World's free SU-25T and TF-51D, ED could complete the free lineup of aircraft with a helicopter...and the Bell H-13 would be perfect! https://i.ytimg.com/vi/VCgqnIeG-P4/maxresdefault.jpg
  8. That's the Sub-Launched F-15C and it's Classified...
  9. I have the same setting...can bring the Speed-Brake out to a desired position, but retraction is full closed when pushing forward on the button. My Viper is programmed to the same switch and with landing, once the nose falls off after aero-braking, I have to pull back and hold to get maximum speed-break deflection, although below 60 knots or so, it's not needed. I have not used Target software...have to have a friend edit LUA for me, but I would love to find out how to make all the Warthog switches functional up and down in DCS.
  10. Hi there, I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to get DCS to take my controls settings Lua files and read it only from the Saved Games folders. Currently, I have to copy and paste my modified Lua files for F/A-18C, F-16C, and Headtracking after each update. I know JSGME and other Mod Manager files would do it, but could there be a way to make it so that the Saved Games folder is where primary controls are saved and drawn from in game. Please help me understand this better, thanks! =JUICE=
  11. Make sure you place the F-16C Block 50. Aircraft you can fly are in yellow on your drop-down menu of airplanes. Let us know how it goes.
  12. I agree with BIGNEWY! QUOTE: "I struggle with checking my six in VR, think I am getting to old!" Me too brother! Additionally, checking your six in almost any modern fighter requires you to look over your left and right shoulder and maneuver 10-20 degrees in that direction. Anything behind your Three-To-Nine Line can kill you and if looking left, roll left and pull a little, do the same in opposite for the right and check your six often. I wish I had a good wingman to dust off bandits on my six here...had to fix the situation myself.
  13. Agreed: Step 1, Check Hear like in Helmet. Step 2, Volume 80% and adjust your headset manually or people in COMM will blast your ears off. Step 3, World 40-60% depending on your likes. Step 4, Helmet 60% Step 5, Music as desired (I use 0%) Step 6, Switches at 100% as you should notice them when low RPM/Engines off but not as much under more power. DCS is always evolving, getting better, and occasionally re-breaking something. Enjoy!
  14. Crimea would be an extension of the original Caucasus map, and from the videos leaked by Wags, I'm betting it's Israel/Mediterranean area. https://www.google.com/maps/@33.3917115,33.189408,6z The scale would be huge, but it would be nice to have a Southern Japan, Korean Peninsula, Okinawa, Taiwan and East Coast China and down to the Philippine Islands for a WWII Pacific Theater Map.
  15. This would be an excellent opportunity for ED to reach out to the community artists to contribute in projects like this. Compensate them with Miles/Bonus/Contribution Credit by Name, and say thanks to them for volunteering. This same approach could be used to help speed up tutorial missions, campaigns, etc. Quote: Originally Posted by Dagger71 ^^^^^^ The availability of skins is 100% left up to the mission designers. Not necessarily true at the current state of the F-16C. There is only one skin available for the F-16C and if the mission maker adds additional liveries, clients joining the mission without those custom liveries will not see the skins. I think the original request was to please introduce new skins soon with a big thanks on the end! The Skins could cover the Block 50/52 for additional variety. The goal should be to offer a wide selection of skins with a consideration to realism and perhaps some legacy models too. What Blocks are serving in the Thunderbirds now? Also, although an F-16N (Block 30) is used for aggressor navy aircraft, it would be nice to have a skin for that too! We should also consider that the P-51D is no longer in active service, but we have plenty of skins to honor those units of yesteryear. And the fictional skins like RAF, Russia, and such like they did with the F/A-18C would be nice for faction balance of skins available to use. I'm sure ED Devs are working on plenty of skins and just like the external lights, functional systems, and other stuff, we just need to be patient. =JUICE=
  16. Ironically, Wikipedia (not a fan of it) has the F-16 Throttle and Side Stick Controller as the example in the article...the F-16C Early Release Manual and the Real World F-16C-1 can help you map inputs realistically, if you have a realistic HOTAS. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HOTAS One thing, I think you mentioned you got the T16000 earlier, so try to map the obvious items to the same button for each airplane...deja vu.
  17. Do you guys think the Rift S would work on a 4970 at 4.0GHZ under load with an EVGA 980 FTW? 16gb of 1600 RAM.
  18. Don't think you can have dissimilar aircraft in the same flight in the ME. You can have 3-4 different flights of 1 aircraft and client players can form up in the air, but it's hard to get the AI to fly close to each other at the same speed and time in space.
  19. Although it's way above my level of simple mission building, the missions you refer to are built with triggers, voice recordings, AI aircraft units, and based upon progress and time in the mission, the triggers present the information as part of the mission design. There usually aren't any threats in your flight plan and you simply fly the waypoints and get the mission done. You might want to dissect one of the missions. For example, I have the F-15C Red Flag Campaign and mission one is an orientation ride of the Red Flag Range. I found that mission in files under "Game Drive"\DCSWord OpenBeta\Mods\campaigns\DCS NTTR F-15C Red Flag Campaign\EN and the file is RF-F15-MSN-01.miz and I have opened many SP missions like this and changed the "Player" and AI Wingman Aircraft to all Clients so me and 3 of my buddies can fly the mission in Multiplayer. It works great! Editing and dissecting these types of mission files is a good way to learn how they are made and eventually, you'll be able to build your own like them from scratch. Be sure to Save AS and put it in your my missions folder under a recognizable name different than the original file. If you accidentally overwrite the original file, you can run repair dcs or verify game cache in STEAM and fix it. PM me if I can help further, JUICE
  20. I think every veteran should have a carrier based airplane in the mix! Welcome to DCS sir. https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/934940807283241034/EA23E3DEBE67FA2C1F6AAA6FEF77E326C5E9C561/
  21. I upgraded from the X52 to the WH and MFG Xwinds just over a year ago. I got lucky, by chance searched my local Craigslist for sale listings and some guy had a brand new, never opened and was asking $375. At the time, Dell had it on sale for $350 so I offered him that, but he said since he and I were both Air Force, he sold it to me for $325. Deals are out there and you'll love the new HOTAS.
  22. I started with the FaceTrackNOIR and a Logitech C270 Webcam about 4 years ago with the intent to upgrade to TrackIR...and 4 years later, I'm loving my FaceTrackNOIR. http://facetracknoir.sourceforge.net/home/default.htm It takes some time to tune it and get used to it, and you have to have enough illumination in the room to pick up your facial features for tracking, but it's great and cheap. For $3 US and the cost of a digital webcam ($20), you can have good tracking until you're ready for VR...that's my next step when the GEN 2 Reverb comes out. Cheers!
  23. You will love the Hornet and I would grab it on sale very soon! Are you standalone or STEAM...I used to be STEAM DCS but switched years ago to Standalone and love it! Enjoy!
  24. Just as in the Mustang, float over the runway and hold the nose high attitude just the same, and as airspeed drops, gently pull back the stick to mush out or round out the flare to a 3-point landing....when the wheels touch and you have bleeded off all your energy, hold the stick all the way back. High airspeed/ground speed, you will float a long time and if you try to plant it early, BOUNCE! Too Low airspeed and you fall out of the sky early and BOUNCE...find your comfortable airspeed and for me as a pilot, airspeed is the most important gauge when landing an aircraft...hope this helps. Watch this video and forward up to 1:05 on the timeline. Cheers!
  25. I use side stick as I use my PC for other needs and the side stick controller allows for less infrastructure to setup. The option is totally up to you! https://steamcommunity.com/id/Viper_Six_One/home/
