If you know the recipients (person you want to give the module to for you Marines out there) you can buy the gift for them directly in the Module list under options "Buy as a Gift" in the cart section. The Support ticket works too! FYI, if anyone needs to correct or update their ED user name, you can also send a support ticket on that as well and they will change your account name (within reason).

Check out DCS Debrief on YouTube for tips...my page is mostly about basics and user settings for DCS...but TYRO has a good start on some of the BFM/ACM Basics. Oh, almost forgot, you can never go wrong watching the Grim Reapers...good stuff there! If ya know what I mean?

Good info, can we find anything documenting the stand-off spacing for cyclic ops vs general cruise? I realize that resupply happens pretty close quarters parallel when transferring fuel and supplies. Most of the IRL videos on YouTube don't show any other ships near the carrier during launch and recovery. I've been spreading my group out about 1NM.

It's hard to not know where the targets are when you are the mission builder...but in my missions, I have all the baby settings turned off...no F-Keys view of the Enemy on External, Ground Track, or the Map...and it helps with the realism. I set all of these settings up in my main menu first before building the mission so it applies them to the ME after the fact...and then in the ME, I bring up the Mission Options and further make it harder/realistic there if needed. You might try taking some of the ED Created Missions from the Instant Action/Quickstart files in game and tweak those for your liking without paying attention to the target locations...those are sometimes done well.

! Any CV Pilots that can tell me how close the other ships in the group would be to the carrier during launch and recovery ops? Is there any safety ring around the boat doing takeoff and landing ops or do the ships cruise right up along side while aircraft are operating in the pattern?

[REPORTED]CAT 1+2 fail to hook up, CAT 3 explodes
JUICE-AWG replied to Slant's topic in General Bugs
I just did an F/A-18C Air Start on PG map, trapped, and connected to Cat 3 with no problems on hookup and launch. Came back around, Trapped, and hooked up to Cat 4...and got launched straight up into the air Both CATs where in the same mission with no reset...haven't tested Cats 1 or 2. Wonder if you have to open or jettison the canopy now before bailing out...try that!

And if you have Easy COMM turned off, make sure you use the COMM 1 or COMM 2 Modifier Key, usually Right ALT or RIGHT CTRL.

It's the F-14...supposed to be on a stick or in a museum...just don't fly it! Just Kidding!

Wikipedia is always the best place to start your search! Right? Gooseman, Is that 2.9/1 KDR for the Sparrow or the F-15?

No worries, you are within walking distance of a local pub! That's not survival...

Get a Human Wingman/Lead on a MP Server and find your own airspace and enjoy!

You'll need to program your curves in the throttle...search the internet for others that have gone through the process and you'll find good tips on a solution!

I went from X52 to TM Warthog, but I heard that the X56 (After Logitech took it over) was very good...the blue/black and beyond versions! But honestly, once I ditched the Twist Stick and went to Pedals and Warthog, my flying game got real!

Awesome Vector!

Check your local CL.com or equivalent resale website for a good set of used MFG Crosswind Pedals...you never know when a deal will present itself! Agreed!

I would love a fully functional cockpit F-15C in AFM! That's an excellent recommendation!

The FC3 Module just gives you all the aircraft for one price less than the original price of each aircraft individually. FC3 was my first Module and I think I got it for $30 on sale...but honestly, with the Viper, Hornet, Spitfire, Mustang, and Huey, the FC3 Aircraft are not as satisfying as a fully functional cockpit advanced flight model aircraft. If you are new to DCS, FC3 is not a bad place to start flying.

Just wanted to get this straight (Controls for AOA)
JUICE-AWG replied to Laer's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I have always used "PITCH & POWER" to manage my approach to landing in any aircraft. Realize that your aircraft weight may affect your on-speed AoA outcome and trial and error with different aircraft weights will find you the sweet spots. The last thing you want to do is to takeoff with a fully loaded aircraft and try to do touch-n-go's in the pattern. Try this loadout in the Ready on the Ramp Caucasus mission for Runway 09...CAP9 Missile, TCTS POD, 1-Bag of Gas and 50% internal...or for Two Bags of Gas, go down to 20% internal fuel. -
pulling back on the stick for better braking...

pulling back on the stick for better braking...
JUICE-AWG replied to fitness88's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I think that's an excellent point as I've been flying with guys who pull back to the idle stops but the engines still produce thrust. I had the Hornet when I transitioned from the X52 to the TM Warthog HOTAS and a friend gave me a tip day one on setting user curves for the Hornet when using my new HOTAS...and it seems to be right on for RPMs, Power Management, and Performance Feedback. I'll see if I can post a pic of what I set for both left and right...and my settings seem to be perfect for the filed-down AB detent for push through past buster.
