Oh boy, there you´re saying somethings...and it does absolutley not sound stupid...I was flying the Hornet today in VR and wanted to check whether a certain Button moves on the Throttle when I was giving input on my THW, but the (virtual) left leg covered the Throttle and thus I moved my leg to see the Throttle...boy, that was a strange feeling when realizing that you´re actuzally sitting on your own chair in your room hahaha

Holy shit the waiting is really hard. I´ve hopes for a mid January availability as well, but of course I have March 21st in mind first. I really hope that HB get it done without any further issues and can wrap up the release Candidate quickly.

your expactations and standarts are indeed pretty low, the A-10c lacks certain features and up to date textures...

I´m using the Rift now since roundabout 5 Month now and I tell you that I only run DCS in 2D (Screen) to adjust my Options. For me it´s VR only since then. The beginning was quite intense because you´ll get a totally different sense of depth by looking out of the Cockpit. But you´ll adapt to it quite easily, this is the Moment when you say...never ever again in 2D... Sure, you have to say good by to awesome grapfics and high Resolution, but with a mid class PC like my one (check my Sig) you´ll get decent framerates to enjoy DCS in all ist aspects. I´ve read about Trouble with typing while beeing in VR, well that might indeed happen, but I recommend Voice Attack. It´s a Programm that you can buy via steam and it is part of sales pretty much regulary. If not, so it´s just somethings around 11€ (currently in sale for roundabout 8-9€) --> https://store.steampowered.com/app/583010/VoiceAttack/ if you live in the US, so do the math :).

How´s the Website development going on? Will there be somethings like a shop later on?

I had a chat meanwhile with NineLine about this, to make it short and as mentioned above, if the Community can make sure that the Wiki will keep maintained, so there´s a good chance that we´ll get it back. There´ve been so much spam registrations and spams in general that it doesnt make sense for ED to keep it running. So to be precise, the amount of work for a group of people around the wiki will be quite impressive. The question is...are people willing to do this? I will start a poll by the beginning of the new year to figure this out.

The Problem is that ED has shut down the Wiki, thus all the Information is gone. I have "complained" about that already and NineLine said that if Interest is still there, so ED considers to reactivate the Wiki again...but honestly I dont think that they will do that...unfortunately. Too bad for all my wasted time that I put into it...:cry::cry::mad:

Just saw the Video, first I was blown away by the sound...until I read the describtion....now I wonder what the sounds will be like on the release/polished Version. I think that its dangerous to enhance sounds, especially on those highly anticipated Modules. The actual result might piss off people who expect the original to be exact the same like the enhanced.

the Spam issue has always been a Problem. I remember when I was working together with EvilBivol-1 on the old wiki, when I was updating the whole structure to the latest face. Wouldn´t it be possible to implement an effective Registration barrier to avoid having spam bots registered? Like an Administrator activation, or somethings similar? I´d volunteer to do that. I was working a lot on it anyways and some others have participated a lot as well. May be I can gather a few Folks who are willing to create a wiki supporter Group, who cares about it.

I´m a bit shocked? I wanted to check the Wiki and noticed that it was removed from Support dropdown menu on the website. I then tried to enter the wiki by one of the urls I have saved and noted that it seems to be closed/removed. Sure, it wasnt the most up to date wiki, but it have had certain pages with important information. I for my self have put hundrets of hours to give the old Wiki a new face. Others have participated in this but in General the Wiki was a great ressource for all types of questions. Was it removed? Will it return? Where has it gone? And most important, why has it been removed?

I wonder whether it puts Cobra and co into some stress by reading our release assumtions or will it make them ROFL of our stupidity? I wonder why they just dont tell us...

I came here as I saw the today (or yesterday) flown by Graywolf and Grimes, and was sure that we´ll have a release date now...but noooo...still nothings.

are you referring to the Title of the Thread? If so, please forgive me, I´just noticed the Cockpit to be the same as the F/A-18C that we´ve in DCS (from what I could see so far), thats why I simply identified it as such. But....you could tell me how to identify it correctly, that´ll be a great help :)

Thats nice to read and I wish you all the most fun with it...but you´re not the one I asked as you´re not the OP, so why did you answered anyways? By the way, I wonder why the OP hasn´t answered yet at all?

Welcome to the DCS Community. What I´d care about first is proper Hardware. So what type of Joystrick do you have? If you´ve just a Basic Joystick e.g., so no Top noch Module what make any sense, as you would´nt be able to fully operate it (without fiddeling around with hundrets of Key Combinations). The Saitek X-52 (Pro), X-55(56) would at least be required to fully enjoy the fun of flying a DCS Module. The Best Choice of course would be The Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog. Next Thing to care about is TrackIR. It´s highly recommended if you dont want to use your Trim Head or the Keyboard to look around. 1.) Proper HOTAS Flight Deck 2.) TrackIR (or VR) Can you cover these both Options already?

After I entered the code on the redeem code page I got the message "Coupon was successfully redeemed!". It is really somewhat confusing. How does this all work out now actually? EDIT2: yeah, I got that Notification as well, so will the Tomcat be available for me on EA even though it is not listed on the "my orders" page? Hmmm...may be because it hasnt been purchased on the store, that would make at least some sense...somewhat at least :)

I would´nt state it that sarcastic, but since there´s 2 step Activation available via mail or phone, one can easily use PayPal without to worry about security.

That depends on in which environment you´re playing, SP or MP. To have the license for the Tomcat makes it possible for you to jump into Pilotseat or RIO seat...as long as you play solo. In MP you can just pick one slot, either Pilot OR Solo...the other crewmember needs to have a license as well.

I was confused as well and also got the message about "key is not known". Too late I saw that the Cat will be available early winter, thus I think it´ll be available on x-mas. I really hope that once the EA goes hot we wont get that errormessage again. Otherwise it´ll be a hard time for heatblur to sort all that complains out.

what the first image is not really representing is that the armament Switch has to be set to the upper Position. The positions are off - safe - armed, on the image the Switch still is set to safe, that might have confused you. Also make sure to select an amount on the dial to fire rockets. According to the targeting pipper, I never fire weapons to far away Targets as this makes no sense. Thus I´m aiming the Center of the pipper for the guns and the upper edge of the pipper for the Rockets, and that works Kind off well...depends on the range of course.
