  1. does this dicussion really still continues? We are in no way affected by this and hopefully the money increase will help ED to develop awesome modules in the future...But @ED, a bit better communication prior those decisions would be fair to your customerbase...my 2 cents.
  2. although I totally understand your anger as I feel as impatient as you do...but do you really believe that your post will speed anythings up? To be precise, its not very helpful, not for them and not for us. Sure, he could be a little more specific, but he might have his reasons not to be, so all we can do is to wait or care about somethings else to shorten the wait.
  3. true, but if those Infos are present in the wiki, ist easier to say...check the Wiki :book: :D I´d recommend that you send me some Infos via PM and I´ll check which one I´ll add to the wiki You can of course do that for your own as well if you like...it´s open for all who are willing to properly contribute.
  4. thanks, I´ve added your information to the ED Wiki, to be found here. If you have further helpfull tips all around DCS so I´d gladly would like to get in contact with you to add those to the ED Wiki.
  5. Hey guys, Ive created a new page and called it technical Corner. To give you a glance what this new page is about, so I quote the introduction text in here. one can access it on the main Page in the first Box, currently marked as ***NEW***. I´ll gather and add information over next couple weeks and hope that the one or other of you guys will help me with that. If you feel the need to change things to make it more useable, so do it.
  6. Try it, your DDRam of 8Gb could be a bit more. 16Gb are recommended...but it would be great to see how 8 gb are handling this. I´d recommand to play around with the settings. It would on the other side nice if you could share your experiences then, for others with similar Components. My Components in example are a bit similar to yours, at least for the CPU. I run the FX 8350 which is a bit less capable then yours, but my GFX card (r9 380) is a bit stronger than yours. That was my first impression of 2.5. with these settings ingame I run the Game now between 30 and 40 FPS...depending on the complexity of the mission of course...sometimes it drops below 30 but it wont stutter anymore until I get my new rig. EDIT: I recommend to uncheck the "Full Screen" option if you use a second Monitor
  7. true...as said, I know that I have to upgrade my rig and I will do so...just takes still a little saving time...if just the current prices for hardware wouldnt be so bad atm.
  8. update finished over night. Unfortunately my System seems to be insufficient for 2.5 now. By having an A-10C on Ground in a small mission, I had roundabout 50 - 70 Frames. That applies for 1.5.8. In 2.2.0 I had roundabout 40-50 Frames ...on NTTR Map. First try now drops that rate down to 12 on Caucasus, with all the exact same settings. Still have to check for Nevada though. Anyone else having similar experiences? I know that I need to upgrade and this will definately happen.
  9. good question, would like to know that as well
  10. Thats for sure, and by reviewing the christmas update images clearly represents that Cobra didn´t wanted to show too much. They simply want to provide the complete thing...If I only would not be that much curious :D
  11. what has "its done when its done" in common with "have you some pics to show?"...well, actually nothings...I know that we´ll see Stuff when its ment to be seen, but it might worth a try, doesnt it?
  12. Is there any Chance to get some more Information in shape of Images and stuff? I mean the Tomcat is a very highly expected Module and you guys are soooo silent about it, no pics that show us a Little more, no new Information...it´s a pure torture :joystick: A few Images and some nice words to us would let us calm down a lot I suppose :D
  13. @c0ff 2 questions (asked them already on page 4) 1.) Any Infos about steam release of 2.5? (I´m asking for some friends who are new to DCS) 2.) What happens to created Missions which were made on 1.5.8? will they emigrate to 2.5 or do they need to be created again from scratch? (Reference is your statement about Saved Games/DCS folder statement from initial Post)
  14. you can expect it to have it installed on your whateverdisc within the the next 2 weeks. Release was set to End of January 2018...just a couple days left. Missions that were created either on 1.5.8 and/or 2.2.0, will it be possible to load them into ME, save and thus convert them to 2.5 Game Version? Additionally, how will DCS World steam version update take place? Will it happen simultaneously to the actual relese, or will it happen shifted? It´s not for me, I´m asking for some friends who are quite new to DCS and running it via steam, thanks.
  15. Just to make sure that we are speaking of the same, although it should be obvious but are you speaking of 2.2.0.12843? I´ve tried it just a sec ago and it worked well without any issues, I tried the key combinations as well as the HOTAS Warthog, both without any problems. Have you checked whether the keycommands are assigned properly? Do you have some other devices connected which are not already mentioned? I am no expert...so this is just a question, but iMac and Win7 can not cause this issue, right?
  16. Thats exactly where I am, I always said that I will not pre-purchase the Hornet cause I wait for the Cat and the Phantom...well, that worked out until today as I pre-purchased the Hornet :D Jokes aside, I´m very exited about the Hornet but I really cant wait to get Hands on the Tomcat and even more on the Phantom.
  17. sounds great, do you have the option to remove the poll again? I really wont like to have it still running under these new circumstances.
  18. Thats great to hear, thanks...in this case, could you remove the poll again please? Do you know the respective thread where it was mentioned? I was searching with different tags, but couldnt found any results.
  19. Hello ED, I was browsing my Modules on the website and got aware about all the money I put on my particular Hobby. In this special matter I wonder about a major issue that regards the DCS Website. As far as I can estimate it, so it should be possible for a hacker to crack my account and steal all my worthy Modules and thus my invested money. Wouldnt it be possible to implement a 2 step verification Process to the website in order to avoid such a thing? I´m thinking about the easiest way which is sending a code to my smartphone or my emailadress to get access, thus a hacker can crack my Account but will nonetheless not have access to my Account. Another solution would be the google authenticator app to provide respective security. There´re many websites around already that provide that type of security. Steam, Uplay, PayPal are good examples and many more. Have you already been thinking about that or are you considering it in general? Thanks and kind regards Memphis
  20. c´mon guys, we at least have a solid goal now. Until this point all we knew was like..."We dont know when it will be available", this is over now...and consider 2.5 to be available soon, there´s so much to see until the Bug will sting.
  21. Holy shit, I really hope for you that you´re just kidding...50$ for a case that contains Hardware for 2000$? If I can recommend you a case, so get a thermaltake core v71 (click me), thats a really cool thing and provides enough space for the hardware...but its a monster of a case and demands enough free space to place it properly.
  22. Hey guys, I am currently saving money for a new rig. My current Specs are in short an AMD FX 8350, R9 380 and 32 GB DDR3 RAM. DCS is currently installed on a HDD. I wonder if I will have a noticeable boost just by installing DCS on a SSD (looking at DCS 2.5) and leaving the rest as it is....well, yet I dont want to start a new thread as I think that this one perfectly fit my question though. Thanks and sorry for Highjacking this thread :D
  23. To be honest, I pretty much believe that we will always see somethings like this, even after 2.5 release. Its because there´s so much to simulate (which is great). And if you compare Lock on and the current DCS Version you´ll clearly notice that its 2018 ;). Its a great thing that ED is providing those alpha/beta Versions. One can but one does not have to join the beta and the alpha. Just pick the Version you prefer and let them do their great work. And dont forget that most of the currently available modules were created by 3rd Party developers, ED themselfs does not have many Modules released so far, they focus mainly on the Software itself...excluded the F/A-18 of course :)
  24. Thanks for the great update. As 2018 is very close I´d recommend to make a break and enjoy a well deserved x-mas and new years eve with your families. Those few days doesnt really matter I suppose. Thanks for the huge effort you guys are putting in to fullfill my dream of an Aircraft that I love from my childhoods days. Merry x-mas
