My biggest problem is when I have a STT lock and tell jester to decrease the range on the TID he losses the lock. The lost of contacts on TWS and RWS may be due to a number of factors. Closure rate, MLC filter (even on open skies if the radar is below 3° it may be enabled), scanning elevation and azimuth (jester doesnt try to maintain the targets on radar). Don't forget pulse doppler modes are always stabilized to the horizon.

You don't need a TACAN, just follow the cable.

I think the problem is the pilot, its almost impossible to black out (during non extreme maneuvers). But yes, there's a discrepancy between the G tolerance of the pilot and the RIO.

If you don't see smoke over the target its impossible, even in daytime its almost impossible. You need smoke.

We need more multicrew aircrafts in DCS. A Tornado would be awesome.

Yeah I thought about that at the moment of writing the thread. Its nice to know it works. But it would be nice to do it in a more convenient way.

Is there a way to place a TACAN on the ground? I know its possible to add ADF but I would like to add an additional TACAN or two.

The problem with pd search is that it doesn't give you the range but you can see targets beyond 100nm

ED should do an improvised but functional system with the IFF. I would like to have something functional and not 100% realistic rather than not have a system at all. This also would be more ralistic than hiting a button to IFF because of blue or red coalition.

I found pulse search is useful at medium-close range, specially at close range as you said. Is there a way to know the altitude of the target on the DDD without doing STT? I lose a lot of SA not knowing this because I need to look at the antena elevation to calculate the aprox altitude.

Oh yes I forgot about the +-100 knots cold blind spot for doppler.

Is there a benefit from using in medium to close range pulse search vs RWS with the MLC filter off? From what I read the only difference is it has the posibility to change the STAB A/C. For close range RWS looks like is the best option.

Agree with the first. For the second I see it very difficult or impossible without some fundamental changes in DCS. But if we are going to have more multicrew aircrafts in the future (F-4, F-15E, Mi-24, Tornado ?) it would be nice to have at least an option to set how much knowledge the RIO or WSO has.

Yeah, makes sense. I made a shorter table from the data of the table that made karon and is not as precise but its much faster to read.

The ARC 182 both mode selectors have no marking and its impossible to know what's selected.

Is there a rule to set the radar elevation? When the target is at the maximum rage on the TID its easy to set using the maximum and minimum numbers of the left but when the target is in between it gets really tricky. :helpsmilie:

If I'm not mistaken it has EO guidance, so no RWR warning.

My problem with Jester is when I'm turning and he says nails 6 o'clock and in reality is 9 or 3 depending on the turn since its the way the RWR its working. When he does these types of calls I'm always like, its really behind me? I always get more confused than if he doesn't say anything.

If you're doing very simple missions, yes, you can do it but its a lot of work and is not user friendly. DCS should do it by itself since its how SAMs operate in real life.

Everyone is like crazy about the TGP, I don't see why? It's not a fundamental part of the aircraft. Its just a tool, if you have another laser supporting unit then you don't need to carry extra weight. But this is fine for me since I play online and now everyone will carry a tgp instead.
