Is it something it can be changed in cockpit? or is it harcoded on the DTC? Because having to have a group previously set in the mission editor is really bad for multiplayer missions with lots of players.

I don't understand, what about the F-5? Even if it doesn't have it why the F16 shouldn't have it? In reality you get Bullseye calls, BRAA its only used against HOSTILE in danger situations, BANDIT and no factor are Bullseye most of the time. BRAA calls only works for 1 aircraft and its no use for the rest of the coalition. With bullseye you make 1 call instead of 20+ BRAA calls. Even if the F-5 doesn't have it he should know his position and bullseye (roughly), if he doesn't then he is lost and/or has a bad situational awareness and should take care. This is really common in DCS since its difficult to learn and the community and/or ED don't help. It's a lot of practice, much more than anything else, that's why "modern" jets have it integrated in their systems. Mark is necessary since the ground battlefield is moving constantly, unless you only fly only static missions. If you don't want to hit friendlies you need to have a good comunication with the gound allies plus smoke is a good signal yes. Mark is fundamental for targets of opportunity and intelligence specially for a dynamic campaign and modern conflicts, so yes it's necessary unless you always target known locations with static targets like practices.

MARK IS necessary for us, since we fly a dynamic campaign. Also Bullseye to TDC is mandatory and the F16 doesn't have it atm. If you like to fly alone and only do some training its ok but forget it if you plan to fly seriously, its missing basic stuff.

I had a problem yesterday when in nav mode the steerpoint 5 was in a different location, whenever I changed to AG the steerpoint was correct but in nav still pointed to an incorrect location. I used the wp 5 before to strike that area and then changed the coordinates of that same wp to strike another target.

You can brake really hard in a straight line, once you start applying rudder to compensate, the braking starts to lose efficacy. Try to avoid drifts in runways and brake as straight as possible if you apply rudder for corrections apply less brake.

Why does changing camera angles change the simulation against AI?
Ignition replied to djliquidice's topic in DCS 2.9
Replays don't work, its a broken feature for 10+ years now? Record your flight and/or use Tacview. -
Way to quickly mark current position on HSD?
Ignition replied to normanleto's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
If we are very, very, VERY lucky we will get jdam. But don't expect much since all the developers are focused on the hornet, for almost a year now? I hope they finish the F18 when 2.7 arrives so they can focus on the F16 once and for all. -
You win. I guess you don't know either why it can carry 2, we need someone who knows.
-
Well, we can agree the F117 is unique, old, and retired... I'm not sure about the F-4G but the prowler, growler and Tornado use jammer pods, so 2 AGM88 have sense. I don't understand. I think its more because of US doctrine, something we will never have in DCS since its impossible to replicate it in a game.
-
So much hate for an optional loadout... For me the question is, why it can only fire 2 agm88 if it can fly with 4? The block 50 was supposed to be a SEAD platform, you don't make a bomber which can only drop 2 mk82.

That's what I use, it still useless since the separation is very small and still heavily overlaps the signals. In the F18 the separation is very wide and its super clear.

How do you land the viper without running out of runway
Ignition replied to ruddy122's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Aerobraking isn't more effective IRL, in fact the brakes are the most effective way to stop. The problem is IRL the breakes build up a lot of heat, plus the brakes of the F16 are small so aerobraking is the solution. I usually don't have problems to stop the jet on the runway, except when there's crosswind I tend to lock the wheels since the plane goes to a side and its easier to lock, the breaking efficiency is lower. Of course landing on really short runways its difficult (if not impossible) with some weight. -
I have problems with the offset in the F-16, its useless. It still heavily overlaps each other and its impossible to understand each radar.

Some people have their ego very high here in the F16 forum. The difficult part of the boresight is finding a suitable target to do the process. Another problem is the F16 is the only plane which needs to do this, it creates problems in multiplayer (private servers). So an option to disable it would be good, OR, making all the planes with IR/TV AGM-65 equal.

Still not working, we have a 40 player PVP dynamic campaign. Please we need this option working, we use Combined Arms so we can't hide the entire group.

Community poll for HARM and Maverick on stations 4 and 6
Ignition replied to BIGNEWY's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
I wonder if some people who wants "realism" think they fly with the same doctrine as the US, with same planifications and employing the same tactics. Well, you can't. The F16 may only carry 2 AGM88 IRL because of these and we can't replicate them in DCS, simply because of the documentation is not available to the public or we don't have certain airframe or feature. I understand a lot of people gets upset by having a non standard/real loadout. I use realistic loadouts most of the time, but It's nice to have an extra option sometimes, and I feel limit the option for other players is not good. Not all players fly the same way. Even there are a great number of players who never read a manual and only fly watching videos on youtube. Maybe it would be nice if the rearm window tells you the loadout is not 100% to reality. -
Community poll for HARM and Maverick on stations 4 and 6
Ignition replied to BIGNEWY's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Yeah, the same which loads 6 mavericks in DCS but it burns the wheels IRL, and it can only fly when there're no enemy CAP. DCS is not reality, stop believing this. And stop reading the internet, a guy on the internet said "this isn't true" and then all repeat the same thing. Then don't load the AGM88 on station 4/6, its not difficult. -

Ignition replied to BIGNEWY's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
DCS will never be a realistic scenario. People think because they can start fly and shoot in a simulator they can do it in real life. There are hundreds of variables that doesn't count in DCS but they do IRL. It is the best simulator yes, but it will never be realistic. And its far from an arcade, so don't worry about that. -
Community poll for HARM and Maverick on stations 4 and 6
Ignition replied to BIGNEWY's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Yeah, agree. The F18 has 10 AMRAAM and 8 JSOW LOL. I think the option for HARMS in 4/6 is good for a gameplay perspective and for non historic combat scenarios. I know it may not have the wire IRL but we're talking of a game with multiplayer, and I think there needs to be some compromise on all aircrafts. I don't think 4 agm88 would destroy the balance in PUBLIC multiplayer as 8 JSOW or 10 AMRAAM F-18. People have the option to not load HARMS on 4/6 if they wish. -
I love my 10 AMRAAM and 8 JSOW F-18!

Will the SPI work be completed in time for the December update?
Ignition replied to CBenson89's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
I hope it will be fixed in the next update. -
New Kneeboard display/control functions are outstanding
Ignition replied to streakeagle's topic in DCS 2.9
Agree, the new kneeboard is really usefull now. -
Wheather is a BIG part of flight simulation and the weather in DCS needs a lot of improvements. Its sad atm. Also the sync in multiplayer is necessary.

[EARLY ACCESS IS A LONG PROCESS]F-16C Forgotten about again
Ignition replied to Droning_On's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Agree, these are so basic stuff. We are having problems in our group since it lacks simple stuff like bullseye to cursor. The SPI bug is also very problematic, sometimes you can do CCRP and sometimes you can't because the SPI refuses to move. The boresighting of the mavericks its also a problem since it doesn't align always and its the only plane who needs 5 minutes extra to calibrate the same weapons that others just shoot them straight away. Yes you can CCIP and shoot the gun and rockets which are a joke for a lot of ground units, that works fine.
