Its a bug. Of course its in AUTO, he should be intelligent enough to keep TWS when told to decrease the scaning distance. Specially when we're going to fire missiles. I remember my first flight with the F14, I broke the INS before the minute of flight, and then I broke the wings lol. The problem is when you transition from FBW to the F14, your muscle memory will kill you. Now I feel the F18 is really non responsive specially on the roll axis and I find it arcade and boring (the flight model, not the weapon systems). Now I fly the F14 most of the time.

Yes volumetric clouds would be very nice but I'm waiting for the whole dynamic weather overhaul. ATM its so bad and very simplistic. If you want rain you need to generate zones with very low pressure and a lot of wind. The new weather system with humidity parameters will be very welcome.

No. Right now the AIM 54 its a fire and forget weapon. When HB fixes the behaviour of the missile it will be guided by the AWG-9 until it comands to go active (blinking timer on TID). By that time I hope Jester use the radar as it should.

Jester doesn't use the radar, it only pushes buttons. Also he's very bad at switching between RWS and TWS. As a pilot you need to work double since Jester doesn't do his job well. You should tell him if he should use TWS or RWS, never use auto. Also you need to tell him where to look, he's very VERY lazy and doesn't use the radar to search and/or track targets. For elevation you can tell him to look at a certain distance and altitude, the low / mi-low / mid ... options are not the best option in most cases. I hope this Jester lazyness gets fixed because right now we have more work to do as pilots with this AI than we have in the F-18 flying alone.

This bug has been since the begining and its really annoying. Jester changes to RWS from TWS when told to change the scaning distance. Always when I'm going to shoot in TWS I tell jester to change from 100nm to 50nm on the TID and BAM! All the targets lost and now I'm on RWS and jester as always forget to do his job.

Sorry I think I read it wrong on the manual. I did score some hits in flood mode, its easier to shoot the missile but its a little more difficult to maintain the target on the flood zone, but theoretically you can save the shot if you lose him for a moment.

Sorry I wrote fast at work and forgot about the 63 channels apart. One sets the channel between 1 and 63 and the other sets the channel of the other aircraft + 63. If one sets 10 the other then sets to 73 (same band).

When you lose the target lock it should switch to flood and you should be able to guide it with CW flood.

It works, I've used it. Put the TACAN on A/A and set it between 1 and 63, the other aircraft needs to set it between 64 and 126. If its really close you will only see the 0 digit of the distance moving very little.

I've removed the detent of my throttle. I know the position of the mil power, also I watch the RPM when reaching 100%.

So this bug is still present? It's impossible to click anything. It's worst than an earthquake in the backseat. Very annoying and unhealthy.

Thanks, it looks like I've always lost all the fluid. The last 3 times I've been shot I've lost the comb hyd pressure.

What should I do when I've lost comb hyd pressure? Is there some way to recover some pressure? Is there some way to lower the landing gear and flaps maybe manually?

If you will play alone, I would wait until jester use the radar because right now, you need to fight jester to get things done and its infuriating. There's no flight that I don't yell at him for its incapacity to use the radar. He does not search for targets for example. The plane in the air feels really good, I like it a lot more than the fwb aircrafts. ATM the only task you can do well is A/A, A/G if you have someone in the back and even then the TGP has an appalling resolution plus the non precise INS it gets VERY difficult to bomb vehicles (unless you dont want to id it). Also bomb a building inside a city is difficult too. In general its a good aircraft and the RIO is very unique and fun.

Jester is really bad using the radar, he doesn't even try to search and track contacts. Right now you can't crank once you have fired a missile so you need to fly stright to the target. If you lost the contact jester doesn't move a finger to try to find it again. Also he's very bad at switching between RWS and TWS. Maybe with the coming TWS auto he will be more usefull.

I don't know about the future but right now he can spot things that in DCS are impossible to see, I guees IRL it would be visible.

The changes to the aim 54 should come at the same time of the tws auto since jester doesn't use the radar at all, he only looks forward without puting any kind of effort to keep a target on the radar. Otherwise 90% of the missiles will be wasted in fail to track and/or to much risk going very close to the enemy without the possibility to crank.

All the lights in DCS are way too weak.

If the tharget is turning away from you the circle should get smaller.

When should I change this switches? It looks like in 99% of the cases the middle setting is the optimum. I don't understand what they really do.

I don't know how bright the external lights are IRL but they look VERY dim in the game!.

I didn't thought about that. How do you move the TID to center on a waypoint? It should be posible in Ground Stab I guess.

When I play a multiplayer PVP server I look for balance between both sides. I don't care about realism because I know its impossible in DCS with the amount of aircrafts available. Of course if we had more "red" aircrafts I would like a "more" realistic approach, but this will never going to happen since a lot of planes are classified. Speaking of JF-17, I need to see the flight model but I'm sure I'll buy it.
