  1. Just a simple Range mission so you can practice you loadout delivery. Sirri Island has been designated as a LIVE FIRING RANGE. There are varying target types as follows: 1. Enemy Base Camp. 2. APC Column. 3. Soft Skinned Vehicle Column. 4. Naval Vessels. 5. Parked Aircraft. 6. Active SAM Units. You decide which targets you would like to engage via F10 menu selection. Following target type confirmation you can also obtain JTAC assistance via the F10 menu. Your JTAC will mark "GROUND UNITS ONLY" with "LASER & SMOKE". For the "PARKED AIRCRAFT & NAVAL VESSELS" ONLY SMOKE will be used. Slots Available: (Change or Add in the ME as you see fit). Hot Starts: X2 AV-8B Aboard the Tarawa. X2 AV-8B Abu Musa Island. X2 F/A-18C Lot 20 Aboard CVN-74 JC Stennis. X2 F/A-18C Lot 20 Abu Musa Island. Each Airframe has a different loadout so chose which ever slot suits your training needs or amend to suit in the Mission Editor. Multiple CTLD JTACs are being used each one uses a different laser code. Old link removed as mission updated. Airbase: Abu Musa Island Airport Static Aircraft: F/A18C (old version) Parked in Slot 01 Client Aircraft: F86F When added is assigned Slot 01 Parking Slot: 01 Other Slots Occupied: 02, 03, 05, 06, 07, 08 Occupied By: AV-8B N/As

  5. Hi LeCuvier, It's been a while since I have flown with this load out so I tested it this morning. I armed my aircraft in the ME with "Rockets 1". 1. Entered AG mode and selected "Stores Page". 2. Selected the "x4 Zuni Mk71s" using the OSB and ran in on target. 2. Fired of all eight at the target and following that run selected the "GUN" using relevant OSB. Pressed the trigger and my guns operated . I then tested out the dual functionality whereby you can fire guns during a rocket run. 1. I selected both "FFAR Mk5s" and "GUN" using relevant OSBs and ran in on target. 2. My HUD showed both the Rocket reticle and gun cross pipper. 3. I launched x4 rockets and then pressed the gun trigger and all functioned as expected. 4. I then switched to "GUN" only using the OSBs and pressed the trigger. The HUD symbology switched off the gun cross pipper and left the normal gun reticle in place. My gun operated as expected. Is your procedure any different to mine LeCuvier?
  6. Hi All, I have watched this thread carefully and have decided to weigh in with just my humble opinion. Talking of panties a few seem to have theirs in a knot over this LOL :megalol: FWIW for me this is very straight forward....The USMC (Dept of the Navy or whomever)decided it would use only the E and F Maverick variants based upon their operational needs. (increased warhead penetration etc etc). So they will order and stock the items accordingly and the aircraft SMC would presumably be programmed/calibrated to cater for those specific weapon types. Therefore for me it is fitting that we only have available the preferred USMC load out and this should apply to the USMC Bug too on release(will it???? I don't know). Don't get me wrong I am sure if a major war took place and stock piles or manufacturing were interrupted, I am sure the SMC is reprogrammable to accept different Maverick types but that's not the point just because it could, does not necessarily mean it should.....it's a last resort option surely. IRL I have spent time with the Harrier and I have loved this aircraft since I was a child. I too like many others fly the AV-8B as if it were an RAF variant having said that you don't see me shouting for outrigger pylons/brimstone missiles/Martin Baker ejection seat/Nose mounted recon sensor/Ferranti moving map and Aden cannons, even though they could be fitted. Why?? because that would make it an RAF Harrier II. I know this is a bit extreme but you can see where I am going with this. I would love an RAF Harrier but I have a USMC AV-8B and I am happy to have its load out configuration based upon the USMCs actual operational needs and requirements. Some may call it restrictive I feel its pertinent to RL simulation of operations, so I build my missions accordingly. Isn't that what DCS strives to provide? I am not a purist by any stretch of the imagination (how can I be.... pretending my AV-8B is an RAF Harrier lol :megalol:). Just my humble thoughts on the subject at hand....we all have our own opinions and that's what makes life interesting.

  10. I can now confirm this does work with the PG map. Thank you my friend.....you know who you are :thumbup: F14s and F4s are just a small selection of what has been made available now.
  11. The TACAN is automatically set to 1 XRAY but can be amended in the advanced waypoints section of the ME :thumbup:
  12. Hi Jamesp1, I tested on the caucasus map 2.5.2 OB firing x2Ds then x2Gs, firing both in quick succession and slewing using the Maverick screen. I could not recreate your problem though. I did not CTD and my DCS remained running. (please see image below). I don't own the PG map so I could not test that element. :thumbup:
  13. Hi All, Based upon a number of forum posts, I have created this simple mod. Please find detailed below a link that updates the units (both Air and Ground)available for both Iran and Iraq in the mission editor. The mod is for single players essentially as it will not pass IC. Now skins you will have to provide yourself. I do not have this map so its not tried and tested but that should not be an issue, as the core files should be the same regardless of location. You will have to use JSGME/OvGME to enable it and it is compatible with both options. Hi All, If we have the AGM65E2 (L) "latest variant" then according to the information I have found and I quote: "Raytheon weapons developers told Warrior the Maverick uses a blast but not quite as large as a 500-pound bomb for lower collateral damage. Also, In the event of a loss of LASER lock, the upgraded missiles are able to de-arm & fly towards last seen laser spot; and will re-arm & guide to target with laser reacquisition." Now we also need to remember that this is a brand weapon introduced to our arsenal and additional coding will be required from ED I would presume to model this functionality. I hope this sheds a little light on the question. :thumbup:

  20. No problem here as can be seen in the images below: (Latest 2.5 Open Beta). Try running a repair as sometimes updates can fubar and have missing files. I don't know why this happens and I have asked the question but as far as I know, there hasn't been a response. :thumbup:
  21. You have not mentioned in which version of DCS you are witnessing this issue but I can confirm there is not a problem with either pod in the Open Beta branch (please see below):
  22. Hi both it has been clearly mentioned at the bottom of the change notes for the latest patch. Cheers. :thumbup: Known issues Player parkings on carrier are broken. External lights (flashlight, taxi light) are visible inside some cockpits. Spitfire tail wheel contact model with ground is broken.
