1. How does that apply to an A10 VR pilot with HOTAS?
2. It's a placeholder for glove tracking apparently.
3. Stupid way of doing it IMO. Until glove tracking comes out I either use the head mouse control in conjunction with Voiceattack commands or I just reach forward to my touchpad mouse. Why would I want to fumble about with a Touch controller at all? I don't think you've thought this through.
4. Why would you want to use touch controllers? That would be totally immersion breaking. Hopefully we'll have hand tracking before too long.
5. Yes, it's true.
6. You can use VoiceAttack and control by voice command.
7. So what? It's the internet and speculation is allowed.
8. If you only need them to read then you won't need then in VR.
9. CV1 is more than good enough res wise to run DCS. I have no trouble operating the A10C in VR. Monitors are rubbish, it's the end of the 2nd decade of the 21st century not 1989.
10. It still amazes me that some people are unable to work out what VR does. Basically the light that goes into your eyes comes exclusively from two small screens in the HMD. One screen per eye to give 3D binocular vision. OK, you get less FOV (is that hard to imagine) and low res, but it's still like actually being there. But what amazes me even more is that some gamers aren't even curious about VR. What unimaginative, unadventurous, echoing voids some people have for lives.
11. The OP want to be able to get the blue cross to appear in a specific location on screen. He can do this with VoiceAttack and it's been pointed out to him but he's gone all quiet. I think he is looking to highlight VR problems and isn't too interested in their solutions.
12. Yep, and using VA you can do that by voice commands and set the on screen coordinates where the mouse reappears.
13. You can do that with VoiceAttack.
14. You can avoid that by moving the windows taskbar to the right side, vertical position.
15. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=DCS+A10+seat+too+far+forward+in+vr It's not broken for monitor users. Anyway, double click the mouse wheel, then hold down the mouse wheel and scroll back and forth to move the seat. Double click the mouse wheel again to go back to mouse mode.
16. Things don't have to be exactly in the right position and the brain will make adjustments.
17. What games can't I run on my 980ti then? You say it's obsolete, but I say it isn't.
18. What games are they then? I didn't bother reading through all the rest of your hyperbole. What I did read wasn't worthy of a response.
19. You're so funny. I didn't know my year old 980ti was obsolete. It seems to be running DCS, Elite Dangerous and iRacing really nicely. It didn't cost a packet either. Even the Rift was cheap compared to the 22'' CRT monitor I bought in 2000. Your lens prices are a bit of a joke too. Did a unicorn supply them? I'm not really fussed about open source because DIY HMDs will never be mass market.
20. Not sure what you're trying to get at here. I've always had a fast PC and I bought my first HOTAS about 25yrs ago. As a flight sim nut, why would I not have these things anyway even if VR wasn't here yet? And what does any of that have to do with the take up of VR in other games like sim racers, for example? Your appear to be over thinking.
21. You might save a small amount of resources by hitting ALT+ENTER and making the mirror full screen.
22. The mirror image is there at zero cost as it has already been rendered.
23. Can't really help you with that, but you might want to take a look at VR instead of triples. VR is simply x1000 better than the flat, shrunken world we see through the wittle pixie-wixie windows that are monitors.
24. Really looking forward to experiencing this in VR.
