Voiceover audio terrible
vracan replied to vracan's topic in DCS: UH-1H Peacekeeper Lebanon Campaign
Thanks for the reply. No it's not all the voices, but most. In mission 1 for example the frigate girl voice sounds like a mouse and speaks way too quickly. I believe its not the voice themselves but the filtering/modulation effect is too strong. Also in general pretty much all voices are way too low volume, even with the audio settings at maximum. You should have the recorded volumes very loud, and so that we can adjust it to be lower in the audio settings to our liking. btw, on mission 1, I also discovered the adf 440KZ instructed does not point us to the frigate. Having said that it's nice that you care about the quality. Do you think it's still possible for these to be corrected in a future DCS patch? Thank you -
Hello, I just bought this campaign and have big issue with the voice-overs audio. It is VERY nasal/high frequency and low volume. Add the very strong accents and it becomes unusable for me. I am forced to have to read text all the time. There is no issue with audio in any of my other campaigns so had to abandon this campaign. I am using lates DCS patch. Any one else having issue with audio in this campaign?

Ground unit AI and performance improvements
vracan replied to Mohamengina's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Playing on servers with static ground units is getting so old for me. Makes me wanna go back to warthunder where you at least feel like you are in a battle and not doing target practice. Anyone know of any servers where units actually move before I depart DCS and go back to simplified flight dynamics(unfortunatley)? -
Mission 10 bug found, squashed and mission updated

yes single player performance is good even in VR. I also play warthunder multiplayer and performance is excellent with just as much action and players , if not more. edit; notice fps issues also happen in campaign mode so not just multiplayer problem. Seems related to cpu bottlenecking where there is enough movement of units
-
Same here! Performances atrocious as I get closer to frontline. So not playing multiplayer anymore until DCS get better optimized for CPU since from my diagnostics software that is where bottleneck is.

Hi there, I am having difficulty trying to select and spawn into a farp of my choosing. On the F10 map the farps are labelled by names/words (ex:AN Nasiriyah), but when I try to select role when joining the server the FARP's are labelled by digits(ex: farp-04). How do I correlate the two? Edit: Never mind! As much as I would love to play multiplayer, unfortunately the framerate fps drops way too low to be playable on my VR PC (gtx3080ti/10900K). I'll wait till DCS gets better optimized. In the meantime I'll be playin single-player. : (

yes reprojection using oculus ASW gave me double-vision too of aircraft passing by, same using Pimax. I believe the reprojection software algorythm from one headset to another cause the difference in this ghosting...
-
not really cuz I still play but only on openbeta 2.5.5 where its pretty good. I tried 2.5.6 couple months ago and thats where I saw the double images and stuttering and low fps (and that's an pretty low settings), so I switched back to 2.5.5 I check this forum often to see if people are saying performance is like it was at least on 2.5.5. But still see many complaints unfortunatley. My PC: 8700K, 1080ti, 32GB mem, SSD
-
sorry but that double vision not playable for me. How do you aim when you see 2 possibilties for all targets. At 45fps for double-vision is there most of the time, and even if was there occasionally only I still would not play. I guess everyone is different so accept that!
-
Don't you get double-vision on passing aircraft at 45fps ? Stutters? Just like him I consider that unplayable too!
-
I used to use 3 monitor with trackir setup but once I got my pimax5+ vr headset I got rid of them. The 3D depth perception is EVERYTHING when it comes to flying. I almost instantly became a much better pilot and was actually getting twice as many kills, not to mention that immersion! So its vr or nothing for me. Thank god its summer anyways Im always outside but really hoping they figure it out by winter, or I'm off to another sim
-
it allows you to use voice commands for the game to do stuff instead of using keyboard
-
a little confused about the way you are testing. You say the game was unplayable before this update in mp and now you put the settings at worse possible settings? Do you mean all settings at highest or lowest quality?
-
really? in VR? where's all the rest of the happy customers? what fps you get typically(with no asw timewarp)? no stutters? no aircraft double-images when they fly past you? I have much better pc than you so hard to believe
-
ditching vr means ditching dcs for me too.
-
so weird to some people getting much improved VR performance while others are reporting big loss ?! this will only make ed's job harder for knowing what's working and whats not
-
not obsurd if we have no choice and that's what it takes for them to seriously put manpower to do something about it. Without proper performance I simply dont play DCS and put my money elsewhere.
-
Yes fully agree with you. DCS is falling way behind in true progress compared to other flight sims. Adding features/bellsnwhistles to broken code is just distraction not progress.

I only have beta so not sure how revert stable version. Maybe someone else can chime in here or you can go ask on the stable release thread https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=263428&page=37
