  1. Chances are you weren't banned, was there a message when you got back to the server list? Can you still get into the server?
  2. On the topic of sudden, possibly catastrophic pulls on the stick, how easy is it to over G the Tomcat? AFAIK the FCS is mostly just boosting the stick movements through hydraulics.
  3. In all of the HUD footage I've seen I can't tell what the A-A gun pipper looks like. I think it might be a diamond but it also looks like that might be the square that follows the locked target. Also, is the gun solution purely radar guided (like the F-15) or does it use the radar + INS like the Mirage?
  4. The reason the rated range is so short is it's an anti ship missile. If it comes cruising in at 350 knots the ship will shoot it down in the blink of an eye. Now, for taking down a patriot or Hawk this would be useful as they rarely shoot at SEAD missiles. I also found something similar with the Kh-25ML. Listed range of 7-10 km and I lofted one to a fuel truck 50km away. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=173961
  5. Oh? I have faint memories of ripping the wings off an A-10 but assumed it wasn't implemented since I've never managed it since. I'll try it with stores tonight.
  6. However it does have a giant vertical stabilizer that will try to swing your nose into the wind. Combine that with the absolutely abysmal yaw authority (easily 1/3rd that of the Huey) in a hover and strong wind.
  7. It varies massively with payload. As far as I'm aware DCS doesn't simulate over G on the A-10. I've managed 11G on a clean A-10 with no consequences. But to do that I loaded 30% fuel, no external stores, and no gun ammo. Climbed to 20,000 and dove straight down at full power. Pulled up at about 450 IAS. You have to try really hard to over G a loaded A-10. Also: welcome to the forums!
  8. Y'all let us know how that new MP extrapolation works out. Is the extreme averaging gone? Can you actually see people doing rolls or do they just rock back and forth still?
  9. Everyone, dust off your pitch forks but don't start rioting just yet.
  10. There's still hope (not much though lol)
  11. At the very least the Mirage will be getting some improvements.
  12. One time I saw an AI Mi-24 hovering a few hundred feet below the top of a ridge. For the longest time I assumed he was hiding from fighters then I joined a CA slot and found he was trying to follow a waypoint! The poor bugger ran out of engine power to clear the ridge and didn't even try to go around it :megalol:
  13. Wait, does this also take care of ranging for the gun solution? If so, that's amazing because I had always assumed you needed to lock a target for range data.
  14. I think a fitting large, non-weaponized module would be the V-22. (You know, the big fat tilt rotor thing?) Pros: Capable of flying very fast while still getting cargo in and out of very small areas. It would be a special challenge to fly and master. The thing is built like an A-10 so you dont have to worry about taking a few hits. Also, as far as I know, nobody has made any high fidelity simulation of it. Which leads to my next point... Cons: it might be classified as all hell, which may be the reason we haven't seen any high fidelity simulations of it.
  15. I remember seeing 6000 ROF on the M61 entry in one of the (scripts/database/weapons) Lua files.
  16. I don't see why we would need an all-encompassing-multirole block 9487 F-16 when the F-18 is right around the corner....

    Kh-22

Were you trying to shoot at ships? That's what they're made for and I'm not sure the AI will shoot them at anything else.
  18. After seeing that video me and my friends like to yell "2 recover!" at each other whenever somebody messes up and G-LOC's in DCS.
  19. F-18A/B/C/D+ manual. Mainly covers base aircraft systems ie electrical/FCS. Includes lots of operating procedures/limits. http://www.avialogs.com/viewer/avialogs-documentviewer.php?id=3724 I'm assuming this is allowed to be posted, but I did hear some commotion involving Dash 1's in the A-10 forum.
  20. The bouncing ship issue is because they pitch in the waves but the pitching is only updated once per second or so. So you end up with the deck teleporting 6 inches at a time, the Huey can usually withstand it but the black shark gets its gear shredded in no time.
  21. On the topic of refresh rates, modern ones aren't perfect either. It seems DCS doesn't simulate it in most modules. F-18 HUD for reference
  22. Hehe, 5+ degree glideslope. Rip in pepperoni landing gear. Also we're seeing the first in game images of the Viggen from the cockpit of the less finished F-14. The Irony
  23. This is something I've found to happen in pretty much all flight regimes. Two solutions: Tap the stick to the side every once in a while or use autopilot. I'm 99% sure it's there because the plane isn't perfectly symmetrical and is realistic.
  24. This is probably the funniest post I've ever seen on this site.
