  1. Thanks ED for the announcement. Best of luck and I hope sales go well for all the planned releases. Personally FC3 sounds ok as a stop gap, but really I am only interested in the next DCS JET release. I have a feeling that if DCS:Flying Legends was your only announcemet, people would have been screaming for blood on these forums! lol Regardless, I will buy all your releases. Your past work speaks for itself.
  2. Maybe push the fact that there is game mode in DCS. Make game mode in DCS everything that is in FC2 complexity wise. Either way, I am sure there are many factors to determine if a FC3 is worth while for ED that someone like me may not be aware of. If there is a FC3 I will buy it on day 1 release day anyway.
  3. Forget FC survey sims. There is game mode in the DCS sims for those that want something easier. It is a lot of work and time for DCS module. Why delay them even more? Just my 2 pennies.
  4. Happy B-Day oh master of flight simulation!
  5. Wow, nice work ED and testers. Thanks. Another nail in the FC2 coffin. No one will want to fly Ka-50 with FC2 anymore. Looks like for A2G I will be using A-10C and KA-502, but for modern jet combat it is time to move on for this guy. Personally I am not looking forward to a possible FC3 either. I want DCS level avionics. Anyway, enough moaning. Thanks again ED and testers for the hard work!
  6. Stuff is blowin up real good! Looks cool.
  7. Yes for sure. When I say, 'look like' I should say, 'includes features of'.
  8. Yes of course. It is a catch 22 I guess. What to work on next and how. Even though perhaps the release of future DCS modules is slowed by the upgrading of the engine with patches for current modules, it is not the worse thing in the world by any means! Would I rather wait some more for DCS:Fixed Wing and have it look awesome like A-10C does today? Or would I rather be already playing DCS:Fixed Wing today, but it looks like FC1? Hard choice for me!
  9. This is not a problem, but a matter of preference. The default is made so you get maximum visual zoom on the Shkval screen while at the same time still being able to see out the window, and I like it. Keep in mind, like BS1, you may loose track re-playability with people that do not make this mod.
  10. Thanks ED
  11. ED would have to make a patch for FC2 to make it compatible with BS2 and A-10C. Until then it is FC2 and BS1 together, or BS2 and A-1C together. There won't be many BS1 pilots online when there is BS2 I bet. IF ED makes a patch for FC2 they may call it FC3 and charge for it as it would bring in many features currently avaialble in A-10C. Again, IMO, forget FC make DCS:Fighter before I am dead please lol. Also, I was always thinking, why is ED working on improving the engine of A-10C when they could be working on DCS:Fighter? Maybe an idea would be to stop development on the DCS engine, release a few DCS modules, then work on the engine again. Just an opinion. Regardless I appreceiate the hard work at ED and the sims they provide.
  12. Have a good b-day Manawar!
  13. Awesome story Total. Thanks for sharing. He must have been a really nice guy. Yeah, Gutter Ballet tone is great. That album is a classic.
  14. Like I said. You could have a base simulator and add aircraft on to it like FSX. This would mean though that for the most part the simulation graphics would remain the same. The only work to be done would be the aircraft and weapons. Instead ED have chosen to upgrade the actual engine itself with each module. The pro is that the engine improves the con is the increased work to bring in a new aircraft. This work needs to be paid for. Simple as that. The pro of keeping the engine frozen and just adding aircraft is that less time is needed. We would already probably have the next DCS module if it was done this way. At the end of the day plans change and it is no easy thing to do. Regardless, paying for work done is fine by me, least we have no kick ass developer making sims that we enjoy anymore.
  15. Total, did you open for Savatage?! How did you get the chance to use Chris' stuff?
  16. Thanks ED and testers for this release. Guys, I think the only way we would get a compatibility patch for free is if A10C had no improvements over Blackshark. Instead A10C is improved over Blackshark and thus BS required lots of work to get it to A10C standards. I myself would rather BS2 to look like A10C and pay for the work, then having A10C look BS and a free patch. This way things can continue to be improved. I still hope that maybe something more elegant is found for future releases. Maybe include the compatibility for past releases when the new module is released. It will take more time, but then maybe charge more for the module. This is not Battlefield, this is a niche market and if a new module cost $100 I would pay for it. How many of us would bitch about the price of this patch if ED had to close it doors tomorrow?! Also, bye bye Ka-50 pilots on FC2 servers. I am sure we are not going to want to fly this in FC2 much when it will be so much better with A10C. I hope now for FC3, or even better, a DCS Fighter. Look forward to the future.
  17. Metal/Hard Rock: EMG81 -> Zoom PD-01 (No Distortion, Clean Boost only) -> JCM 900 50W - G-Major Effects and Danelectro EQ in amp loop. Marshall 1960 cab. A midi loop switcher to switch off/on the PD-01 and a Danelectro flanger before the preamp. The midi loop switcher and my G-Major are controlled by a FCB1010 midi pedal. I also have a Dunlop switchless wah. I like 50W better than 100W tube amps cause for the same volume the power tubes will break up earlier. I use a EMG85 in the neck position for clean sounds. That and the Dimarzio pickups in the Jackson I ordered that I am waiting on.
  18. Or if I.D not known, 'Tally Bogey'
  19. Nice guitars! I have a Jackson SLSMG and I just ordered a Broderick signature. Waiting impatiently!
  20. While dissiniliar air combat is great, in FC I have no issues when doing BVR or BFM when I am in a Su27 for example and so is my opponent.
  21. There might be a way using 3rd party software. Heck, you can get TIR working with mouse emulation, but the fast you have no control of the vehicle or aircraft while slewing makes it useless for the most part. Friggin silly it is.
  22. It's not the lack of speed, although being outeun by a tanker is depressing. It's the lack of A2A at the great realism level that DCS offers that is missed for me.
  23. I feel the need... The need for speed!
  24. For sure. Bunch of BS that it doesn't You can't even slew the view in vechicles without losing control of the vecheicel. Who was the genius that designed that?! I understand that works for mouse control, but give us an option.
  25. I have house power that fluctuates and cuts off all the time. I lost a Power Supply before. Bought a battery back up and never had an issue since. It does more than a surge protector. It will regulate power better and if there any drop outs of power, even for a millisecond, it keeps power supplied form the battery. I don't even consider the battery backup as something to keep my PC going in case of a power outage. More of a power regulator.
