We got the first flying legends aircraft, and I hope there are more, but please consider the thousands of us waiting for a DCS fighter jet. Let's see one of those come out next before more legend aircraft. It is hard with all our personal preferences, but I would hope that first we get at least 1 of each type, legend, helo, A2G, jet fighter, before we get a 2nd of the same type.

DCS World is the start of having all DCS modules in one place instead of how they are today. P-51D is already part of DCS world so there is nothing more you need to do when you fly the P-51. As for A-10 and Ka-50 starting from DCS world, I don't think that is complete yet in the beta. You get the Su-25T as part of DCS world, even if you don't buy P-51, which you did anyway.

I am disappointed by rFactor 2's graphics so far in the beta, even though many other aspects of RF2 are amazingly good. I hope that GTR 3 will have the physics of RF2 and graphics like that screenshot. That would be quite the achievement and it would be the only racing sim I race.

Until I read this post, I had no idea how DCS world was free. As a suggestion, I think the DCS World post by Wags should clarify this and perhaps mention the steps to get DCS world downloaded and running, and the fact that you download DCS World / P51, get DCS world for free and have to pay for P-51. Myself, I paid for the beta anyway, but the fact that there is a FREE ED sim right now with a 25T in it should be shouted from the roof tops :)

Ahh the Toad. The Su-25T had AFM for years now and gave us a taste of ED's AFM well before Ka-50 and A-10C. Good stuff.

You can't compare a simulation to a mass appeal video game. This is a speciality market where you can count the companies that develop simulations on 1 hand. Paying a premium price is not unreasonable. This aint gonna sell like Call Of Duty. I would gladly pay a premium to support the excellent work of ED and to help make sure they stay in business.

Congrats on the Beta release ED team! Hope the final release goes smooth and I am looking forward to all the ED projects in the works. P.S. please spill the beans on the "surprises" in the beta. It's gonna be a few days downloading the beta on my satellite connection!

Well. Creating separate planes for DCS and FC will take even longer as a whole. I am thinking about fans of both survey sims and study sims. My suggestion would make things simpler and get fans of both in the same jet.

but GG, as I say above, keep what is there in FC intergrated going forward.

Why would anyone be unhappy? FC will already be intergrated in to DCS and anything new could have FC mode and DCS mode. What exactly would make FC fans dissapointed?

and hopefully in that time there will be a nice DCS fast jet section ;)

FC3 will have DCS graphics with Lock On simplicity. So your wish will come true. What would be cool is to not develop FC any further and instead release DCS modules with a game mode, Lock On mode and realistic mode. Everyone would be happy!

This is a huge thing! DCS has AI that engages other AI and human controlled aircraft. Just having jets flying around won't be enough. Especially for online play. I think of a typical DCS/FC mission setup for a server or a match. That would be impossible just having Jets that shoot at each other. While there is always room for improvement, the MP aspect of DCS/FC is not available in any other modern jet sim (F4 is not modern! :) ) FSX will not come close with out a LOT of changes that may never be possible.

Of course we are all going to have personal preferences, and you can't please everyone. The thing is, the ground pounder fans got their sweet A10C, the rotorheads got their Ka50, us fast jet fans are stuck with FC, and FC can't compare to DCS's level of detail. We can only see the awesomeness that is DCS and hope for the fast jet sooner than later.

That is a great idea. Why can't VRS be working with DCS addons instead of a civilian sim like FSX!

Also, the announcement by ED that they are transitioning to a core system is awesome news. No more splintering the MP community!! I wonder if that means that once FC3 is out, and is compatible with DCS, that FC3 will always be compatible with the future of DCS? That would be great until there are more (and of course the first!) DCS fighter jets.

A DCS Jet Fighter first as well as a 2nd for DAC. Then we can talk tanks and ships :) Man, I need to stop lol.

On the postive side. All the other news is great, and it is extremely nice to get an update. Thanks ED.

FC2 has game avionics and flight modes. I am sure FC3 will as well. This part of the sim I wish was marketed more. Get the hooks into some new comers :) Youtube some video. You'll see similar effects as FC2 has now. It was changed to make it look more real. I thought the same as you as well till I looked up some vids.
