Before thinking about the Virpil you should have a look at this thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=229144 Calling the TM Warthog "junk" is something I can't confirm. I bought mine in 2012 and never had a problem. I just replaced the slew-sensor with this: https://deltasimelectronics.com/

As much as I know, it only works in the mission editor.

I've got some problems with the A-4's lighting. I can see the reflections of the anti-collision light on the gun pod, but the lamp housing isn't lit. Same problem under the left wing and on the hump. The red and green lights in the wingtips are very pale. The probe light is never lit at all, no matter what I chose on the lighting panel. Do you guys have this (small) problem too, or am I doing something wrong? -

@ heclak: Thank you for updating your guide! It is very clear, useful and has helped me a lot in learning to handle the A-4E. Will the manual cover the area of the ECM panel as well? The AN/APR 25 Radar Homing System is pretty intuitive to use, but with the AN/APR 27 Radar Warning Receiver I still have some ambiguity. What does REC and RPT stand for? Should we always use RPT during gorund attack, like in Merker's video? When do we need REC and what's that good for? -

I assume that you are using version 1.3. Just go into the communications menu and ask the ground crew (F8 button) to place the wheel chocks. -
Press "Alt + Y" in mission editor.
-
Thanks for your quick reaction! Just flew a mission with the A-4E a few minutes ago. It's a lot of fun since ver. 1.3.
-
Never noticed the problem with the nosewheel sinking in the ground, but I'm always starting on the runway or the carrier-deck. Immediately after the start of the mission, the suspension of the nose wheel is raised slightly and the wheel is slightly above the ground (the tire is a few inches in the air). Never saw this behavior in earlier versions or with AI aircraft. I'm using version 1.3, open beta, no Steam.

What does the timeline look like until the start of sales? Still this year?
-
Basically, that looks pretty good. The question is, how much does it cost and with what gimbal will it work? VKB Gunfighter?
-
That's exactly what I thought, when I first saw the F-14 cockpit. That's not worn-out, that's horrible. To each their own, but I personally don't like worn-out cockpits. It's just like a car. If I buy a new one, I don't want a pile of scrap. :(

Should the Community A-4 have its own sub forum?
norbot replied to Frag's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
+1 -
I'm not going to buy it. Already have the F/A-18 which gives me enough to learn and train. I simply don't have the time to fly two different aircraft with such a high complexity. DCS is a good sim, but I have other things in my life to do besides "flying". :)

New from the factory cockpit textures for DCS MiG-19P
norbot replied to OverStratos's topic in MiG-19 Farmer B
We should have weathered and clean textures for every module. Some like it clean and others used and worn out. So why not give us the possibility to choose what we want to have? -
Does that number iclude the force sensing ones? They are an excellent piece of hardware, BTW. :)
-
He said he wants to build an A-4 cockpit, so why should he wait for an F-4?

norbot replied to Merker's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Try it with an SA-2 group for the beginning (SAM SR P-19 for search, Fan-Song for tracking and some SA-2 launchers). Works perfectly. Engage the SR P-19 from something like 12 nm away. You will have to beam a few times in order to get close enough, but it works. Can't wait for version 1.03 where we probably will have a lock tone and maybe even ECM - or at least some warning tone and light, when a SAM is launched. -
A-4E-C What's that box that ....
norbot replied to Marcq's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Version 1.03 will probably have the ECM panel again. Read here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=224989&page=88, Page 88, Post #872. -

Well, even the devs need a holiday from time to time. And you all did a great job with the A-4E. Now that it stopped exploding on the runway, we have our fun again. :D -
