Yeah cool man, I'm equally excited to see a fan here, was hoping someone would enjoy my half arsed write up! It was a really intimate and great sounding show, the Warfield in SF only seats probably 4-6000 people and like I mentioned we stood about 15 feet at stage left. Of all the rock/metal shows I've seen this was by far the best, previously I would have said Iron Maiden but FNM is cooler in a different way. I'm still freaked out about what a great show it was!

At the Warfield Theater: So a while back my older brother and I hear that FNM is finally coming back to the States on their reunion (-ification) tour and we sprung for floor seats for the first of three shows. That turned out to be a great idea as all three nights sold out in quick succession (albeit three months in advance). Having seen videos of the band performing in Europe in past months we knew the show was going to be great. So this Monday came up and we got to the show around 830PM to find the special guest on stage having just started. When they said special they weren't kidding, we walked in to find none other than Jello Biafra and Klaus Flouride of the Dead Kennedy's performing to house full of people who didn't either know them or recognize them. Songs about sexually abusive catholic priests and hit n' runs in SF over the holidays ensued........ The next act was appropriately and equally bizarre and entertaining (as well as unexpected) as the Barbary Coast Cloggers a (heavy metal type of burlesque act) lip synced and danced to the likes of Tool and others...... Sounds pretty bizarre but it was hilarious and entertaining to all! They were sporadically interrupted by insult comedian Neil Hamburger who also served as MC for the entire show, he mostly told but groaners but man were they some gross jokes! Finally FNM takes the stage opening to the cover "Re-United" (yes the R&B Peaches & Herb song lol, flawless rendition BTW). From there they screamed into "From Out of Nowhere" and into the night. Rough set-list: Reunited From Out of Nowhere Land Of Sunshine Caffiene Evidence Ashes to Ashes Suprise, You're Dead Stripsearch Just A Man Jizzlobber Easy (Lionel Richie Cover) This Guy's In Love (Burt Bacharach Cover Flawless lol) Epic more..... (memory going now lol) So by the end of the show I'm wondering why I paid money to go see a band that performed so flawlessly I could have just stayed home and listened to the albums. Exactly they put on that good of a show, by far the best performance I've ever seen live (and I've been to some great shows). FNM is one hell of a talented band and anyone that knows FNM knows Mike Patton's singing has always been outstanding. He's not a metal singer, rock singer, soul singer JUST a singer. If FNM comes to a city near you DO NOT miss it! It really is something to behold! I'm still in awe over the fact that I essentially got to see the Dead Kennedy's perform as well as the outstanding show FNM put on. The history behind both bands is legendary. To quote Jello Biafra: "There are only two types of people in the world today, those that have Iphones and those that WILL have Iphones." Edit: I'm one of the ones that WILL have an Iphone as at 15ft from the stage I couldn't get a decent picture of anything w/ my walkman phone.

FC2 FMs F15..

I've found all the axis curves to be twitchy at default settings and adjusted them to my liking. Probably a good idea to mess around with those settings and see how things work before setting deadzones. -
I think the Modman installation recommends not installing in the Program Files directory if you use Win Vista. I'd start there and list the mods you installed as well as operating system. The install location goes for Modman and Black Shark or FC2!

FC2-A-10: Campaign Mission 1 AAR
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to dwpenney's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Good AAR, good read! -
I think I speak for most that we can wait and we're not disappointed with ED for having to wait. We simmers want a top notch product which we already have and use I'm sure ED is making sure the patch is top notch to follow that trend. I have to relate to Polecat's post above too we are very lucky to have such a great developer in our niche market. It's one thing to make great games but great flight sim titles are few far and in between!

Things I like about FC2

Yeah I feel bad that I left sound out of my "likes" post! If only all developers could release such a great product (at launch no less)! -
Things I like about FC2
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to Fish's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Yeah lots of great improvements, I like the sensation of speed especially at low altitude! FC1 never made me feel like I was flying a jet (although I'm still not sure if I'm just used to flying the dump truck the KA50 is lol). It really is a great product compared to FC1 (not that it wasn't good in it's own right/day). Looking forward to many more years of fun with FC2! -
After testing this again and ensuring all my volumes were at max I find that the sound increases on the mechanical bits are still too low for my liking (flaps, gear, air brake etc.....) what are your default volume settings in the FC2 options are they all maxed out like mine (except for music)? It is a bit better though and I appreciate the effort! For added info I play sound through a 5.1 system (maybe I should set it up for stereo mode rather than surround....).

Reload during mission?
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to grandkodiak's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I should point out that the OP (I mean the one that posted today) used the search function, but that brought him results from 2008 based on an older version of FC. Just worth noting the next time someone says use the search function! Basically cquail found the old instructions and not the new if your familiar with Black Shark you use the same re-arm/re-fueling methods now with FC2 (I know thats already been pointed out.....). -
Jocman's Cockpit (will be a long, long work....)
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to Jocman's topic in Home Cockpits
If you use your Laptop as a main PC the adapter sometimes just burns out from being over used, same for batteries. I've had that happen to me on a couple occasions. Rest isn't bad anyways! -
I tried it out last night and had mixed results, though I'm not sure if I reset the volumes in game that I had messed with before. I'm going to try again after double checking my sound settings. It did feel like the mechanical sounds were a little louder. Is there any way to up the engine sound a little too. Even if it isn't exactly realistic it definitely would seem to add immersion! Thanks for putting this together, how did you go about editing the individual sound files? Thanks, Chris

Dude is not an english form of disrespect, its the equivalent of the english saying "hey mate". Sorry for the mis-understanding Now what you have written in your PM to me was disrespectful and immature. I'm sorry you disagree with me, welcome to life, people tend to have their own opinions. I seriously meant no disrespect.

Its a sim dude if you want a game then bust out your Playstation 3 and play Ace Combat! I think most members here would disagree with your comments.

Purchase Site Login Issues
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to HitchHikingFlatlander's topic in Payment and Activation
Anyone? I know you're busy but just a "Looking into it" would be nice. It's a pretty stupid issue anyways why on earth would you set up a site where users can register with usernames longer than the login process will allow? My user name is one letter too long will it be a big deal to reset the email address I signed up with or should I just set up a generic email account just to buy the game? If I could get a quick answer on the last bit I'd really appreciate it! -
Just went to the purchase site to pick up a FC2 download but had some interesting issues. When trying to register with the site it told me my hitchhikingflatlander@yahoo.com address was already in use. No big deal I thought, I couldn't remember setting the account up but I used the "forgot your password" option and all was seemingly well. I checked my email that gave me the username and password I used and this is where the problem comes up. My login name is: hitchhikingflatlander problem is it wont let me enter the "r" at the end even though it let me set up an account using the full name. Can someone fix this or reset my email address so I can re-register? My only other email account is for work and I can't use that for purchasing games. I really don't want to set up a generic email account just so I can purchase the game! Thanks in advance for any assistance! HHF
