California Style Landscape (first preview)
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to Ghostrida9's topic in DCS Modding
Dont forget Nor Cal so Cat_101 and I can bomb each others houses LOL! I think the windmills on the Altamont Pass will appreciate the bird strike model too! I think the greater Bay & Los Angeles areas are going to kill our machines trying to model all the buildings. Make for some killer Red Dawn scenarios! Seriously though I'm really looking forward to watching the progress, nice work! -
Uuuuaaaah..! I have started building now..!

3 shades, more like 5 and lets not get started on shoes! -
I have to agree with Mastiff my saitek pedals have been great to me, no flimsy weak feeling at all. They're well built and get the job done. I actually may have fried mine the other day when I mixed up the power adapters for my simpit USB Hubs. Nothing to do with the pedals or Saitek though (had mine since 2007).

Hotas Warthog Priced
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to hassata's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Yeah but that used POTS not hall effect sensors the people previewing the Warthog are well aware of fanboydom regarding TM. You should always be skeptical when buying anything, I'm no different. I see both sides of the coin here but hope we'll all be impressed. -
RSharpe its been a decade so why not wait on buying a HOTAS until at least TM's Warthog HOTAS comes out. If you really want to get in the game in the meantime get a cheap $20-30 stick to mess with (if you considering the Warthog HOTAS you have the money). Logitech and Saitek have their new stuff out, it's worth to wait for th TM HOTAS to see how the all stack up.

^Well so far everyone that has seen/used the HOTAS have nothing but good things to say and many of those people think its safe to say TM learned from their mistakes. -
Hotas Warthog Priced
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to hassata's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
^That estimate would probably only apply to the simulator quality HOTAS not the actual HOTAS in the real A/C. Any aspiring pit builder has stumbled across the HirevSims (sp?) site and drooled over the hardware they make and that stuff is in the $5000-10000 range! The question for me isn't if I'll buy it, it's when I'll have the cash to buy it, baby's college fund is going to suffer, who needs a college degree anyways? -
Release of new Virtual Panel v.1.2.1!
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to Mnemonic's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Very cool thanks for the answer. When I envision using monitors for gauges and screens I'm hoping at some point I can use just two for the gauges and the TV screens. I remain hopeful but its a long way before I get to that point ATM. -

I don't understand the fuss over the price. You guys need to look at sim equipment based off of commercial aircraft, things like B737 yoke comes to mind or MIP, 737 Throttle Quadrant all those replica controllers cost more than the Warthog HOTAS and you can't even fly them in a sim that lets you blow stuff up! There are HOTAS's and then there are HOTAS's the latter is the Warthog! If this isn't something you'd spend the money on your not the target customer anyways, this is for simmers that have the money to spend and are willing to spend it. I'll have to save up for especially since my wife and I just had a baby but it will be worth every penny and then some! -

saitek rudder toe brake ?
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to evo6tme's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
^Only in Black Shark though that option is not available in FC2 and will not be fixed. -
Its a high tech pc of hardware that is equal to any HOTAS controller of the same price. Either buy it or use your hat switch, I'm never going back to HATS and I'll never regret my TIR4 purchase at full price. EDIT: With all the complaining KingNeptune maybe you cant afford TIR4 or the TrackClip Pro attachment. These are mens toys for guys that have the money if you have the money don't bag on the pricing.

Will DCS: WH model the A-10's manual reversion system?
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to Smoky's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
We'll be much more likely to make it back to base now after taking hostile fire. -
In FC it was at least scripted for US A2A re-fueling. Once you connect in say an A10 you're along for the ride unless the tanker turns. It's still fun though!

Just out of curiousity does VP support the maverick seeker screen too? Excuse my ignorance if this has been already discussed. -
Maverick seeker is beyond joke.

I know the slewing is a little funky but I've had no problems engaging strela launchers. It's all about tactics................. -
I don't feel the DCS-Black Shark was behind at all. ED has already delivered the most detailed consumer flight simulation ever and I'm sure A10C will be no exception. I know you're not bagging the ED or the DCS series, but seriously how many people come requesting features or eye candy then use the comment "it shouldn't be that hard to implement....." (along those lines). The only people who really know how much of a PITA it would be is ED. And I have to agree with Peyoteros' comment......... to die for.
