Having built many WW2 missions using the bombers we have, they remain very very slow to defend themselves , fighters can all to often rampage right through Large formations and not even be tracked or fired at by the bombers. Sometimes enemy fighters literally can fly formation with 12 bombers, ...and not draw any fire at all. This is my suggestion, ED creates the following in the ME. Levels of Bomber aggression. 1. LOW, Bombers will react to fighters as they do now 2. MEDIUM, Bombers track and then engage fighters at around 1 nm, using approximately half their capabilities. 3. HIGH, Bombers , start engaging fighters from over 1 nm, as a combined force using ALL their capabilities. The options that a formation can realistically use are , NO REACTION, and PASSIVE DEFENCE. Both of these are not enough and we need more detailed options. Historically Bombers fought like crazy to get to their targets and home safely, thats why fighters often waited for them to break formation...to pick off the stragglers. Attacking a massed formation of B 17s should be almost suicidal for a few fighters, Our Sim should allow Mission Builders to Mimic that reality., if they choose to do so.
  3. HI, I find that the A20 does not defend itself nearly well enough, enemy fighters can fly through a large Box formation with virtually no risk at all.... Is there a way that we can adjust their level of aggression towards enemy fighters ? The B 17s are not much better either, when fighters attack a 12 ship box formation, the air should be buzzing with tracers Kind regards

  5. Since the last update the A20 Bomber is completely Broken. 1, On the ground its now totally out of scale, 2, In the Air does not conform to any Formation that is programmed. The formation appears correct on the Map view...but its Not at all like that is any other view, F2 for example. 3, In flight has a wierd purple Haze around it and keeps bouncing around, as if its flying in the worst turbulence imaginable 4, Hardly fires back at attacking fighters.   6. Its super frustrating that we are here again......I agree, the last 2 "Updates "...have definately caused a new stutter.
  7. This is also the only option for a bomber formation...Passive Defence. It you try to use any other...the results are chaos, especially with a large WW2 formation. The gunners dont even track the fighter ? LastMissionTrack.trk
  8. Time to see if this has indeed been addressed. The Bomber gunners are still Useless and the bombers dont, or cannot respond to even the "Weapons free "command. They just fly along and get killed. The AI Bombers need a new command.....HOLD| FORMATION but shoot !!
  9. Getting the same judders and stutters....I have a DCS stress test mission, and before the last update it was smooth as silk...now its Terrible. Incredably frustrating that as a community this KEEPS HAPPENNING
  10. Hi, Thats also definately a factor...you will find if you use formations...especially as they get bigger...the IP needs to be even further away from the target
  11. Hi, Dont set weapons free. Designate Bomb type as Iron Bombs, and best is , amount to all. Attached is a Mission file...Its pretty complex...but just look under unit lists, then follow the Bombers and you will get all their settings... Happy bombing D DAY VERSION 3A.miz

  16. I think you need a newer Gen CPU....I am using an i7 8700K...and its showing its limits badly now with multi threading...so thats my first upgrade before my 2080ti

  18. Generally, Fighters would not slow down during escort missions, they zigzag to keep their height and energy..if you want to formate on a Bomber... select a notch or 2 of flaps...but watch the engine temps closely.

  21. The water surface begins responding to increasing wind speeds, only with the higher water settings...If you doing Heli deck landings etc, it really adds to the overall experience...

  23. Ok Great, I have also noticed its directly dependant on your " Water " settings...all good.
  24. Does anyone know why the sea no longer responds to increasing wind speeds. Its used to be spectacular, and great fun trying to land Helis, on Pitching and Heaving ship Decks. Now its just like a Dam...always flat.
