My wish ? That ED comes to read this section sometimes
Knock-Knock replied to jef32's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Yes but of course, and ED have statistics on that too. Its 0.78% for 2015, 0.34 for 2016, 0.53 for 2017, 0.88 for 2017 (was a good year that), 0.52 for 2018 and so far just 0.21 for 2019. -
[MISSING TRACK FILE] HARMs can't see emitters after second rearm
Knock-Knock replied to kenworth's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yea I have experienced similar, but that is when I use unlimited ammo in SP (havent tried a rearm). First set of HARMs is all good and fine, but their replacements are like you describe there. -
And its not a Viggen specific problem, that most servers are favoring scattered units, best suited for targeting pod and loitering type warfare. F-5, MiG-21, L-39, C-101 are all in this boat too. They need them self some bridges, buildings, railway depots, trains, supply convoys (trucks and ships), EWR sites that arent protected by SA-11, SA-15, SA-10 batteries. They can take on SA-2, 3 and 6 sites too, if you can stay low and do a hit'n run. In other words, not enough proper interdiction on servers, thats where the Viggen and its friends would shine.

There is a good Integrated Air Defense Script too. Ive been using that. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=118175

Yea I think thats it. I fired a bunch more just now, and it would consistently go for the closest source, no matter the source. Like snatch a OSA-8 that was parked some 500m in front of (in the direction of the HARM missile) a SA-6 site (that was active and tracking). OSA-8 wasnt even showing up in HARM display (I was launching in TOO) at the time of launch, so it just grabbed it along the way. I could do the same with a EWR and SA-3 site, depending on my approach direction. In this case, if I was approaching from the north, it would pick the EWR, and if I came in from the south or west, it would grab the SA-3 (which I had selected). They were pretty much north/south of each other with a 5nm seperation. I of course have no idea if this is correct or not, if its just a question of the HARM going for a strongest source, that varies along the way. I dont mind though. Adds an element of planning, instead of just selecting a source, and there is a 100% hit accuracy if the source isnt obstructed by trees etc. All my attempts was in TOO

I dont know, cause I dont know their hit percentage in real life. I was shooting at various SA-3, 6 and 11 sites last night. Some sites were isolated, others close to another type or close to a EWR. Id say about 2 in 3 hit their mark, and the last 1/3 went wild, and went for a EWR or some other SAM site further away - could be fairly far away. Felt ok, with some margin of error, instead of a sure hit no matter what.

Recent Custom Cartridge Flight Plan Changes
Knock-Knock replied to MobiSev's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen

Just tried a few modules, and shadow settings. Makes no difference. Its simply just the mirror that is rendering differently. Cloud cover base, sun angle, sun direction make the difference. But also the given modules canopy opacity/darkness, like the Mirage, it has a fairly dark canopy, and therefor the bright terrain is less pronounced. These shots are just the last settings, in VR, where I tried without any shadows. Can see witht he Mirage, the difference the canopy darkness makes, where Im 'sitting' so high in the shot that the canopy clips in the mirror. Also with F-18 and Viggen, its different in left and right mirror, due to sun direction.

Wow, you are obsessed. The first page of your posting history is exclusively about this.

Dont know if posted before, but was sniffing around for some Gulf War typical loadouts, and came across this site. https://www.dstorm.eu/pages/loadout/loadout.html

The Rockeyes detonate below the FARP surface. Mk. 82 (as a control test) detonate on top. Edit: Should maybe say, that when the terrain surface is a given distance below the FARP surface, then the Rockeyes have little to no effect, because they detonate on the terrain surface, but if the FARP surface is close to the terrain surface, then you can take out vehicles etc. This was in DCS 2.5.4.30386 Open Beta

Hmm, just in flying VR myself atm, and to my surprise, what I wrote is not entirely accurate. It works in yaw (left/right), but not in pitch (up/down).
-
Cant save any VR orientation in DCS, as in snap views (only position). But can tilt the head up/down/left/right and recenter (VR recenter key binding under UI-Layer), until in a comfortable position or angle.

Isnt that a general DCS thing?

We almost made it 1 page... almost.

Removing files from FXO necessary for changes to Antialiasing?
Knock-Knock replied to Grifter's topic in DCS 2.9
Not that Im aware of, but if you cant see a difference, maybe its not worth that extra performance cost. -
