  1. I went through the same process and came to the conclusion that "computer speakers" weren't the solution. Run the signal through a digital-to-analog converter and an amp, and into "real speakers". Food for thought if nothing else. Sent from my ASUS_Z01FD using Tapatalk
  2. Great stuff. I download all your skins, even for aircraft I don't own :-/
  3. Here's the first Steam review: "Expensive but still cheaper than a girlfriend, always sleek, takes less time to get ready to go out and only nags me when I fail to pull out… of a dive quickly." Haha, good stuff. Sent from my ASUS_Z01FD using Tapatalk

  5. +1 for selling the stick/throttle separately (I use the X55 throttle and like it). If this was an entry level HOTAS I'd understand, but at US$250 it's not and therefore makes little sense not having the option to buy the pieces individually. With the possible exception of the warthog, the odds of the same manufacturer making an individuals favorite stick and favorite throttle are low, so you're losing sales because a lot of customers (particularly the ones on this forum) won't pay for both knowing one of the two components would end up either gathering dust or having to go through the hassle of eBaying it (where I got mine). When my current X55 throttle dies I'd like the opportunity to replace it with a new one, only.
  6. The wheel is useful and after a bit of experimentation I use it for cycling through the kneeboard pages: forward for next page, back for last page. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Any updates for this project? Feb or March release? Timing of the mini stick version? Thanks Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. Awesome. Well done. Sent from my ASUS_Z01FD using Tapatalk
  9. Hi Apache600, should we expect this campaign to work when 2.5 drops or will you need some time to update? Thanks Sent from my ASUS_Z01FD using Tapatalk
  10. This exactly captures my view. Both the throttle and the stick are like mini ticking time bombs. The stick seems to be worse than the throttle in terms of expected longevity. However, the throttle ergonomics and number and variety of buttons, switches etc. are excellent. My solution was to separate the T from the S in HOTAS. A VKB stick and picked up a second hand X55 throttle on eBay where the seller confirmed that all features work, with the expectation that I would have to go back to eBay and get another one 12 months later (I've been very lucky and it's 18 months and so far so good). This is the mindset you have to have with the X55.
  11. It depends on which qualities of VR you most appreciate. If you want readable gauges and visibility, Harrier is great as others have mentioned. However, for me the Gazelle is the best VR aircraft due to its agility, even though gauges are hard to read. Rapid changes in height and direction coupled with VR's depth perception is a winner for me. Jump in the Gaz and start doing torque turns (hammerheads) and tell me that's not fun.
  12. OP also don’t be afraid to mix and match. If you like a throttle from manufacturer A but a stick from manufacturer B that’s fine. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  17. *Spoiler Alert - Read no further if you haven't done 8.6 * Can someone help me with 8.6 please - the one where you need to defend and pick up crew from a grounded helicopter. I get to the site, take out the advancing trucks and troops, and nothing happens. I fly back and land and don't get Mission Complete. I try again and destroy the grounded helo as well and the result is the same. Is there a trigger here I'm not triggering? A timer to take out the enemy troops perhaps? Thanks in advance.
  18. My interpretation of what’s changed is that, starting with the Mirage, keys for Steam modules could no longer activate the same modules on the standalone platform. Since that time modules have popped up on Steam at a noticeably faster clip. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Yes this is going to be hilarious. Good luck trying to out turn this puppy. With its ridiculous agility it could prove to be one of the best VR experiences in DCS.
  20. Hmm, acrobatic biplane... This may be a stepping stone to WW1. If it ultimately proves popular and/or cost effective someone is bound to try a Camel/Fokker combo. The fact that ED approved the CE2 means they’re more open to new ideas than we thought. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. Sounds similar to the current SteamVR Beta: using Touch to teleport around, customize furniture, hang giant pictures on the walls (DCS screenshots & video game girlfriends in bikinis..with weapons...in my case. Yes, odd combo.). It basically lets you create a virtual man cave your wife doesn't know about. Fun stuff.
  22. I'll add my voice to the 'thanks RAZBAM' chorus. I'm not a modern jet guy (choppers & prop birds my usual thing) and had no interest in the Mirage. The Harrier intrigued me, however, probably due to watching them on TV every night during the Falklands War. Pulled the trigger and very glad I did. Everything about it feels high quality and it's a joy to fly. Keep up the good work, very much looking forward to the campaign, and I'll no doubt now pick up the Mirage at some point as well.
  23. You can still complete the mission even with the R-60s:
