  1. PD increases the resolution at which the scene is rendered. As an example lets use nice round numbers... So, if you have a scene rendering at 500x500 and you increase your PD to 1.5, you effectively are now rendering at a resolution of 750x750. To present this to the HMD, the 750x750 image must be downsampled to 500x500. If in both scenarios, rendering at 500x500 a bandit is 1 pixel at a distance, and also 1 pixel at a distance at 750x750, when you downsample the larger image to 500x500 the single pixel will be blurred some, because it is now technically smaller that 1 pixel in size from the image reduction. This is what he is trying to explain. I made this image long ago to try to help explain. It is created using the same techniques, but obviously not ingame. If you look at the first dot, vs the 3rd, you can see what I mean, this is only PD change, no MSAA
  2. @gladmans first link is the most recent
  3. I’m aware that it’s broken for 1.58 and 2.2, I’ve begun working on a fix but ED changed a lot of the UI layout code so it’s like 800 lines of code that is currently affected. I should be done over the next few days, but the holidays give me very little time to work on it, please be patient
  4. Pretty sure thats not what that option means, i think it just hides and unhides the current hands you see from the controllers.
  5. Try 1.4-1.5, spotting in general is just tough in VR though. But to be fair, its tough IRL too ;) The more PD you have, the more blurred small dots will become, so there is a fine balance to clarity and visibility. Trade-off for VR right now, immersion over visibility I suppose. Also, try 2.0 if you have it, object LOD is a bit better at distances vs 1.5
  6. In game programmable IPD does change depth. The IPD on the device sure, ill take you on that, but the ingame "world scale" IS based on the IPD value used when rendering the scene... this is the value changed in the new VR settings shown by Wags, I've even confirmed with him what this setting does. If you read up on all "World Scale" issues and solutions in all VR games implementing the "World Game" slider or value, internally it is changing the IPD used to render the scene. There is a concept of Hardware IPD and Software IPD sorry if this was not clear before. Anyway, im done argueing the point, it doesnt matter to me any more, the feature requested in this thread has been added and will be available in a later build for you all to see. Happy Holidays.
  7. Something was fixed in 1.5.8 open beta today regarding it, so maybe they can push it to 2.2 as well. Thanks for checking tho, glad to see its reproducible.
  8. To piggy back on what @SkateZilla said, games that show a "World Scale" slider are really just adjusting the rendering IPD.
  9. IPD has everything to do with size. Simply adjust the IPD slider while in-game you will see it. I work on the hololense at work, IPD is very important for sense of depth and scale on this device, or things do not look like they are scaled to the real world properly. You are right in the sense that it is for adjusting the distance between pupils, this affects image distortion, aberration, etc. But it also affects your perception of scale.
  10. The desktop mirror does not consume any noticeable resources. Presenting the scene to a window, or the device is probably the least amount of time spent in the render loop.
  11. Those of you having studding issues, especially in MP can you try to turn on VSync (i know, its VR and you are not suppose to, but please try) and see if it helps, it helped someone yesterday in 2.2 and I'm looking to validate with more people... wanna make sure its not placebo.
  12. You wont believe me, but I have researched and each of the games where the setting says "World Scale" internally it is overriding the IPD value used in the game from the hardware. World Scale is a term used because most people wont understand IPD and it seemingly changes the scale of the world, as does your IPD. As an example, if I start DCS and a mission, press F2 to go to external view of a plane in flight and change my IPD on my oculus using the hardware slider, the World Scale does seem to get bigger and smaller to me. Try it, its pretty obvious. Obviously the IPD value also affects the distortion of the pixels due to the lense sweet spot, and thus, any other tweaking needs to be done in the game. IPD == World Scale, not sure how I can get you to believe this, but its how it works internally in the code. Most games hard code the IPD value, I'm not sure if DCS does or not, but Elite Dangerous does, Assetto Corsa does or did (unsure what the current state is, i dont play it). But in the end the transform for the camera matrix has the IPD value applied to it, and when you change the "World Scale" slider in a game with this option, they are increasing and decreasing the IPD value used in the camera transform.
  13. Thanks you for your kind words. I did report it, I just needed more information as I stated so I could write a proper description. I give up with you, you obviously have some infatuation with trying to be a dick to me. Good day, and you are welcome.
  14. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=198338 Yes, World scale is deceiving, it is still and IPD issue which is what i was stating to the OP from the begining, but he chose to not believe me ;)
  15. Both of these issues are reported already
  16. I could go either way, but i tihnk to solve the issue of losing the mouse and having to have a center button, you could just always confine the mouse to the HMD view, move left or right to much and it drags the mouse with ...
  17. Wont try this, its not native I'll have a look (not a big car racing fan.) Yes I am a tester, and that is why I'm engaging here, I never said I was aware of all VR games, I actually have only played maybe a dozen, because I enjoy DCS so much I will write up anything that seems valid, but I also can't just write things up that I don't experience myself. This is why I asked for references to other games that do this. I know what it is, I'm going to equate what i persive as you being a jerk as a language barrier. IPD affects more than just what you speak of, it affects chromatic aberation, visual fidelity and proper magnification of the scene. Please do not speak down to me. Your experience does not equate to me education on the matter. I know what it is, I know what the acronym stands for. There are many many many more factors at play here than just a simple IPD adjustment. I chose this as a start because this is the problem for a very large majority of people. Other things that can affect world scale are glasses, vision/eye issues such as myopia, astigmatism, etc. If you want help, be respectful, if you don't continue to talk down to others, find out where that gets you. I will write up a feature request regarding this after reviewing Project Cars, I cannot guarantee it will go anywhere, or when, if at all it will be addressed.
  18. Agreed, i thought you guys were talking about 2.2, i dont 1.5 at all anymore. Sorry for the confusion.
  19. I dont have an answer there, but maybe I can get it for you.
  20. You act like i don't play this game. I own every module, play them all from time to time and on a regular basis, there is not a single cockpit that I feel is to small, they all seem right to me. I'm not saying there isn't an issue, I'm saying I don't see this problem and have never experienced it. I work in this field, I've made VR/AR applications at work, I understand scale, and I understand IPD, the reason I said it sounds like IPD is because it does, If your IPD is to low, things look small, and to large, to big. I've spent a lot of time adjusting my IPD, and I've even had my IPD tested to get the exact number and it makes a world of difference. Maybe this isn't the issue for you, but it very well could have been. I don't care if the devs get more work, it doesn't affect me, please don't demean my comments, I'm legitimately trying to understand your problem, as you must understand my point of view of not having your problem. I've never seen a single VR game with a "scale" adjustment like you are asking for, maybe you can provide some references? Happy holidays.
  21. Hrmm what servers are you guys having issues with, I've been doing MP with very little issue since 2.2 came out. Tried some AO last night, some F99 normandy too no issues. I've been on F99 (both servers), my own servers (not empty), plenty of things, no issues.
  22. Sounds like your IPD isnt set right.
  23. afaik everything is 1:1 and not changeable, what issue are you having?
