need help ! Air Refuelling how to keep contact ? speed
Jabbers_ replied to bin801's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Wiggle your toes when you get tense. Also envision the stick as something you dont wanna touch but you have to... a used woman's product, your best friends junk, whatever floats your boat. It's called fingertip for a reason ;) -

While that is true, its still not done, info came from the hornet driver I had help with my CASE I video.

Additionally I think what was trying to get at was that the FOV zoom appears different depending on aspect ratio, and the wider the aspect ratio is, the appearance is that you are zoomed in farther, but in reality you are not.
-
I think the minimum FOV you for zoom is hard coded to ~20. You can change what that minimum is for a monitor, but only to the minimum of 20, setting it to 10 still only does 20. VR inherently uses this minimum, and therefor, cannot be changed.
-
Zoom is based on FOV, it cannot be changed. It only appears closer on a monitor cause the FOV is wider. If you put 2 monitors side by side playing dcs, 1 is ultrawide, and 1 is not, you will see the ultrawide appears to be closer, but infact is not. As for Num5, its a bug.

As explained here, the reason you want onspeed AOA of 8.1 isnt the speed as much as it gives you the proper angle between the hook and and gear so the hook grabs the wire at the same time your wheels hit the deck, to little pitch, the hook can miss, to much and the wire will slam you into the deck. lm-M3VUy-_I

Stack entry can be from 1,3,4 positions, but not 2 cause it would require you to cross the bow of the ship where planes are possibly launching into. So typically you want to enter at 1,3,4

This has some information addressing your issue with power management, and how I go about doing it, sorry i dont have a time index, I'm currently at work [Youtube]cW5R32Q6xC8

See here: Also from my script used in the video Q: What does an energized ball mean? A: Keep the ball high rather than low, a low ball can be disastrous for you and more importantly the ship…No one cares if you die, but if the ship gets damaged and the mission has to restart, well, that is something that will be cared about. If the ball is high, the worst case is you bolter, or just get waved off, but slamming into the back of the ship, that’s just embarrassing... Q: Can you further explain the LSO rules “Never lead a low or slow” A: If you have a low ball you're looking to get back on the happy side (high = safe = happy). Make a correction to get back to the happy side immediately no matter how low you are, and keep that correction till you're on the happy side. This would imply a power addition, however it doesn't mean go full mil to get it back, it simply means increase your neutral power point to get back on the happy side of the datums before the next part of the groove (if you're low at the start, try to be a little high in the middle). Same with being slow on the AOA, make an immediate correction and don't be overly concerned with going full fast, just make the correction immediately and keep the correction coming until you see it on the good side. There's no safety in being low or slow. Q: Can you further explain the LSO rules “Always lead a high or fast”? A: Exactly the opposite of the above. If you're high coming down you don't want to go low, so lead the ball to step it down slowly (distinct stoppage of the ball as it's coming down, called stepping it down) and avoid going low. Lead the power addition to make this happen. Same with being fast, don't overcorrect and go low. Q: Can you further explain the LSO rules “If low and slow, fix the low before the slow”? A: There's even less safety in being low than there is to being slow, so worry about getting up before worrying about your speed, that doesn't mean climb super high, just at least get back to glideslope Q: Can you further explain the LSO rules “If high and fast, fix fast before the high”? A: Increased speed means an increased descent rate to overcome later on. If you try to fix the high first you will be at a lower power setting with an increased descent rate, which means low spool up time and a lot of momentum to overcome. Bad days will follow

DCS doesnt use more than 2 threads, what you are seeing is windows trying to help out by tasking what it can to other cores. The reason it shows different based on the map is the map technology itself. Nevada and Persian gulf use geometry clipmaps (http://hhoppe.com/proj/geomclipmap/) which do not require loading different pieces of the map into memory as the map view changes, Caucasus doesn't use this, it loads chunks of the map at a time, so changing your view requires resources to be fetched, thus increasing some of your CPU time for this process. One map to another does not dictate the engines threading model (at least not currently)

Ya tacan is messed up for AA in DCS, AA tacan should only ever show range, not bearing.
-
You want to practice landing, if its a airfield without a tacan, just setup a waypoint, everything works the same, you can have a course line and everything.
-
I cover it here (for the carrier) the airfields are static, cannot be changed or added to, if they exist you will see it when you click on the airfield in the F10 map, otherwise it doesnt have it. cW5R32Q6xC8

Well if thats the case, why is it that everything looks to scale for me, without changing this value?
-
Ctrl + Pause ingame to get ingame on screen counter, rather than fraps, then you can post screenshots to show your fps.
-
That number is 100% custom for your eyes only. No one is going to be able to tell you what it should be.

I think by now we all understand by now you want LM. I think you've stated it ~10 times in this thread alone, then on youtube comments (yes i saw it)... Do we really need you to reiterate it 20 more times? Not really. We get it, you dont like this product, you want LM, great... we don't need you to restate any of the above anymore... we understand you dont like it, don't see a future in it, great. Thanks for you opinion, now.. back to Captoglove....

TM Joystick Stiction cured in one minute
Jabbers_ replied to DeepDrummer's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Probably wont last as long, but if it worked for you, that is awesome, definitely better than taking it all the way apart! -
Correct there was no option for this with the demo at E3 but I was talking to Paolo the CEO and he made it sound like it was cause they had just integrated it into the hornet for the show
