I'd prefer the key press to always toggle WEP rather than pressing the key changing the throw of my throttle in game but not in my hand. Maybe that could be an option.

As Cichlidfan says I don't think you'll get a reply to a support request on a 3rd party forum. Try a post on Razbam's own board. http://www.razbamsims.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=191

Leap Motion looks promising

Can you have this thing and TIR active at the same time? -
Leap Motion looks promising
Mogster replied to Thrakazog's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
It looks like an interesting novelty but I can't see this being any more than that. The main problem I can see is that after a minute or so your arms get tired, its not very ergonomic. Really other than the cool factor I can't see any advantage to controlling your PC that way and it'd take some serious integration to get this woking in game/sims. I agree it does look cool though and my finger has been hovering over the buy button on Amazon... -
When will the current map be made to look better?
Mogster replied to Dudester22's topic in DCS Wishlist
The current map is showing its age now. The lighting especially looks very flat compared to 777s Digital Nature engine for instance. We have all these aircraft projects when's someone going to announce a map project? -
Hmmm, September 1st 1939 Germany invades Poland? I'm a 777 fan, ROF is a great product and I'm looking forward to BOS with some anticipation. I see this as good news though, who'd have thought just a few years ago that we'd have this much active flight sim development. Dying genre my arse :)

Does it really? So there's this huge untapped pool of hardcore sim fans who've never heard of DCS just ready to purchase DCS modules on Steam. I'd take some convincing that that's the case. I'm a Steam fan btw. A few months ago DCS A10 and BS weren't being updated anymore via Steam, Steam seemed to be a dirty word as as far as ED were concerned. So what's changed?

FA18, Edge, Maps. Seem to be popular choices.
-
Clickable cockpits go hand in hand with full systems modelling. Full systems modelling would make the aircraft DCS modules not avionics lite Lock On planes.
-
As others have said its hopefully a step towards more complex helis from Belsimtech. Secondly we can probably have it quite soon which is good for us and the dev's revenue stream. Of course it'll mean we'll have both East and West helicopter transports available.

I enjoyed DID's F22 Total Air War and the Enemy Engaged heli series a good few years ago. They may not have had every button press modelled but those 1990s sims had soul, immersion and atmosphere that current sims lack imo. There's plenty of ground between Hawx and DCS A10.

I enjoyed DID's Total Air War F22 sim back in the day. I can only see this being a Lock On type module, that's fine but we need to know upfront what we are getting. A bit more info would have deflected a lot of the angry posts in this thread.

The quite severe instability and shaking that occurs as you transition from forward flight to hover in the DCS Huey doesn't help along with the aggressive VRS. I've found that carrying a bit of forward motion helps a lot and the beta FM seems quite forgiving to landing while moving forward. I still find pinpoint landings in confined areas too much of a lottery for my taste though.
-
Hopefully EDGE will provide new weather effects, rain on windows, wet runways etc.
-
Agreed, it just needs some fine tuning.
-
I agree it's nice to master a challenging FM but I just can't reconcile the aggressive VRS implementation the current FM has with real world heli pilots comments about VRS not really being an issue and easy to deal with.
-
That's good to hear.

Interesting :) I think an armed drone add on for CA would make a lot of sense, and I'd guess it could be put together quite quickly.
-
I would pay for this if its DCS quality.

Trim - stick jerks left helicopter rolls right
Mogster replied to Sirocco's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Response curves don't work well with force feedback sticks in EDs sims. The FF still follows the underlying linear response though your input follows the curve you've set. When you try to force trim in the helis it causes your stick to jerk out of position. -
I wonder if EDGE will provide new global weather effects or is it just about terrain and lighting
-
If real heli's were this dangerous the design would have been shelved in the 1950s. I'm enjoying the challenging FM to a degree but it does limit the way you operate the aircraft. I don't feel I should be fighting for control while trying to accomplish very sedate manoeuvres.
-
Effects like that have been present in FSX and racing games/sims for years, ROF has dynamic oil and rain on goggles effects. There's no real reason why we couldn't see them in DCS.

Are there any cockpit glazing reflections associated with the Huey yet? I seem to remember noticing some before the last patch but now there's nothing. Its like I'm flying a heli with no windows. I've been flying the P51 a bit recently maybe I'm transposing the glass reflections from there.
