  1. You can still buy via Steam then use the key in DCSW if you want to.
  2. Churchill had nothing to do with the bizarre decision to sell the RR Nenes to the a Soviets, it was the post war Labour Attlee government. I very much doubt Churchill would have handed the tech over.
  3. No disrespect to anyone involved but it is irresponsible. It's the same attitude that led to the famous USAF B52 and later C17 display crashes. The same attitude that led to that UK squaddie being killed by the C130 rear ramp... Is it cool to watch yes, because it came off, be a bit less cool if 3 people were dead...
  4. Has to be the Spifire. 109, too angular. P51, never liked the under slung belly radiator. P47, looks like its obese... Unfortunately it seems I can't vote for the Whirly :(
  5. The Su25 isn't a a DCS module, it's a lower fidelity Lock On FC series module that ED have released to work in the DCS World game engine. The Lock On title is given to ED's less detailed aircraft, mostly they have less detailed somewhat simplified avionics. They did have more basic flight models but ED is gradually updating them. Lock On is an earlier multi aircraft sim that ED produced before they moved to full switch advanced flight model single aircraft releases like the A10C. Confused, you will be :)
  6. They weren't impressed with it were they.... "Any advantage that this airplane may have in performance over other models of the FW190 is more than offset by its poor handling characteristics" Interesting.
  7. Eric Brown talks about a test flown 335 crashing on a school soon after the war. It caused an end to test flights of captured German aircraft in the UK irc.
  8. Yes, I wonder how long it'll be till we get realistic smoke/clouds in sims.
  9. I do think the team should have continued to collect donations outside of Kickstarter, a lot of projects do that. But if Luthier though it was too much then there must have been a good reason.
  10. Agreed, it should be an interesting experience. The IL2 262 hinted at the handling issues with the engines hopefully Luthier's guys will expand on this. Of course basic random reliability issues wont be modelled which will be a huge advantage for the sim 262 pilot.

I agree, it seems there's absolutely no direction to any of this which is a huge shame.
  12. Nice work :) It's good to see things moving along at a decent pace.
  13. I'm not sure how a B17 Kickstarter would go, maybe just let people pre-order giving the pre-order folks alpha and beta access? There will be bills to pay. In the early ROF days I remember Jason Williams from 777 saying that the team preferred cut price pre-orders to full price orders after release.
  14. A flyable B17 is a massive project, I'd rather RRG didn't get bogged down with it currently. I'd like to see the 4 promised planes, SP campaigns, MP and and a decent sized map working then RRG can move on to other stuff.
  15. I don't see how you can have serious force feedback with a spring centred stick. With my MSFF2 a big part of FF for me is the variable centring forces available. I would like to be able to buy a high end FF stick. A forcefeedback TM Warthog for instance, something like that. I'm happy with my MSFF2, I use an X52 throttle with it, but its more than 10 years old and its amazing that nothing better is available.
  16. By single missions I mean a static campaign, a series of single missions strung together. That's better than nothing, I had a lot of fun with the early IL2 fighter and bomber campaigns and some of the static campaigns for ROF are very good. A dynamic or semi dynamic squadron based campaign mode should be a long term goal though.
  17. Its an awesome model but I find the sight of an RC heli of that size hovering so close the pilot and cameraman a bit scary. I have some experience of RC models and just a tweak of radio interference could have the heli taking one of their heads off. I'd want something solid between me and the model at that range I think :)
  18. I am surprised Luthier didn't continue crowd funding after the Kickstarter closed.
  19. Sorry but Luthier's already told me they have to make this first :glare: :music_whistling:
  20. Sadly I think single missions are all we can expect.
  21. With Yo Yo's involvement the DCS Spit is an enticing prospect. It'll most likely be my preferred ride, until we get "DCS Westland Whirlwind" anyway :D
  22. The stick may not be the most realistic place to "feel" what the aircraft is doing but at least with FFB you can feel those forces. Without FFB there's just nothing, you can make aero sounds louder but then that's not exactly realistic either. I do like FFB and find it quite immersive I think it's seriously undervalued and underdeveloped in sims.
  23. I think there needs to be a specific hedge object, lines of trees just don't look right. Random trees look OK in a southern Mediterranean map but not in a Northern European map. Really this is a problem all sims have.
  24. Agreed, none of those models looks right around the cockpit area, the whole nose looks the wrong shape. That would bug the shit out if me...
  25. It surprises me that no one's planning an AH64, even a Lock On level D version would sell like hot cakes I'm sure. A module with the systems level of the old Apache Longbow sim would satisfy 99% of users. But what do I know :noexpression:
