My cousin's neighbour's uncle's wife's college roommate's brother says that this entire drama is just a marketing ploy to build hype for Razbam and ED building a full fidelity Avro Vulcan based on 607 and slated for full release in Q2 2026.

Su-33, able to retract nose gear while deployed on ground
Kang replied to EricJ's topic in Flaming Cliffs Bugs & Problems
They are not making that mistake again. -
Is that a channel you occasionally watch? Is the content as sloppy as this thumbnail suggests?
-
I've seen your earlier wishlist signature. I know what you are plotting (pun intended)! You aim to recreate one of the best mission planners in flight sim history, don't you?
-
I think it would be worth the effort to make a semi-realistic module of select SAM systems on manual use. My previous suggestion always was a combined HAWK or SA-6, though. Guess I like those. Even if there insufficient interest in this, I would strongly suggest to everyone here to take a look at Hpasp's work, which might seem a bit dated now, but is criminally underrated.

Ability to force radar/rwr off on AI aircraft
Kang replied to Gunfreak's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I've tried around with this a bit over the past week and here is what I found: I do owe ED and @Gunfreak an apology here, because I was able to replicate what you said in the exact scenario I had in mind. There is the occasional fluke of something odd happening, but nowhere near as regularly as I previously claimed. On multiplayer servers the picture changes a lot Especially larger (or longer) missions that spawn in further aircraft through a script seem to display the problem I had quite often, perhaps related to the way those units sometimes 'remember' their previous lives. It seems I had spent too much time around these missions and thought it was a completely regular thing. -
Ability to force radar/rwr off on AI aircraft

For real? Confuses me a bit. And by that I mean a lot. Because that literally is one of those constant pet peeves of mine! Not running any mods at all either. I shall further investigate how that happens, then. -
Ability to force radar/rwr off on AI aircraft
Kang replied to Gunfreak's topic in DCS Core Wish List
That is, frankly, not true. If you track a contact in a Tomcat, for example, you can clearly see it merrily flying straight for miles and miles, but as soon as you launch - despite the radar situation not changing one bit at that time - they will suddenly feel an urge to notch you. Now, I admit this might be an F-14 fluke somehow, but I suspect it is just easiest to observe there due to the rather long range of the AIM-54. -
I'm beginning to think that starting a thread of a map wish for literally every place that gets named in the news in conjunction with air power might not exactly be a great strategy to get anything done.

Ability to force radar/rwr off on AI aircraft

Wouldn't that do pretty much do nothing else than show how they get said situational awareness regardless of RWR? -
Does it coincide with anything you do? It might be that a control has been set to something you actually use for something else. Perhaps check the controls list, especially 'DSCG contrast dec' and there is also an axis setting for that knob. Called something like '[Simpit] screen contrast'.

For MSFS. Please keep your pantaloons on.
-
Bit odd, innit. Have you tried if the (in-game) screen adjustements do anything? Like the Brightness and Contrast knobs? If they do I would suspect maybe they are accidentally bound to something and thus running away to max (or min).

I can concur I have seen this in multiplayer on other folks' Ka-50 III models a lot and always forgot to take a screenshot.

Maybe some of the nicer post-war liveries as well. The C-47's career is long and varied.
-
I am fairly sure that you are right on that. But then, perhaps it was a slight error that it was not necessary to do it.

F5 View (nearest AC) view Angle question
Kang replied to Hellfinger's topic in Screenshots and Videos
Feels to me it is less of an viewpoint angle thing and more of a field of view problem. -
I mean, sure, but... you see how building a mission that requires it was your own decision, right?
-
I'd say it's mostly just not worth the effort of going to a complicated solution here, seeing how there are very few missions on DCS maps that really require in-flight refueling. It's a nice thing to be doing and once in a while it gives you a few extra options, but seldomly something decisive. P.S.: Guess a 'refuel while within a sphere of influence around the tankers' approach would be doable easily enough.

Hm... Aegean or Adriatic... that's about a coin-toss in my book.

While I, too, hope that the Germany map gets expanded a bit further into Poland (and Czechoslovakia) than plans indicate so far, that's probably not going as far as that. I'm a bit afraid the chances aren't all that great to get it, but I might like it, too.

Just up the power to some components for more everything, including risk of cancer to everyone involved.

The valid question here is why we are only allowed to save one custom preset still. Of course there are workaround and of course we can at last alter the coalitions while editing, but it is still a rather simple wish. [Cue the people explaining to me how that is totally an extensive task to allow more text files to be added to the already existing list]

Just a little suggestion: Seeing how this seems to be progressing nicely, how about throwing a thread or two in the actual dedicated section on here? It is woefully empty and decidedly unmoved since the 'here is a Discord server' post from 2022.
