I did some research on those samsung's- 2 problems 1) no 64 bit software yet (maybee never?) 2) can only use 1 Best idea is to check thier tech support page for the product you are looking at. I almost bought 2 off Amazon for $70 each but decided not to after checking their support info.

Don't need to do a whole lot to the default in game config, ED did a nice job of it.

We had great fun with your mission today. Thanks for visiting the 76th today and flying it with us and passing along some valuable tips.
-
I'm not seeing the version 1.2 can you provide a direct link? Thanks for all your hard work. +1

Did you let the shaders compile on first launch of beta 4? Takes a few minutes and the game seems to be frozen but if you ctrl alt del before it finishes bad things can happen.
-
In beta 4 on the Landing training mission after you land and move to the parking ramp the "ground crew" (wonder what they are fixin to do with those M-16's) run over to your parking space.

You don't even need to really change the FOV , just bind a spare axis to the "zoom view" axis in your game. When you zoom back, the farther back you zoom, the faster movement you precieve.

FFA multiplayer is a fail if you are in a KA-50. All the PUG fighters on your team ever do is worry about their precious K/D ratios so you will be on your own. Then of course is the dork on the other team that can't compete with the other fighter jocks so he is constantly checking the roster of both sides hoping someone is stupid enough to jump into a chopper slot so he can go hunting and keep his K/D ratio up also.... If you want teamplay and coordinated attacks and fighter cover.... well you probably need to join a squadron and play against AI.

How to controll the aircraft when the rudder surface if blow off?
Slayer replied to Kevlon's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
You can use your trims to try to compensate. There is a rudder trim dial on the left panel and you can also use the trim on your stick. -
It allows you to have variable amounts of braking. In your car your brake pedal is not full on or full off is it? Should be easy to get your head around fairly quickly. Switch configuration is: (momentary hold)brakes open-(toggle) neutral-(toggle) close.

Is it realistic to use the rudder during gun-runs
Slayer replied to kingneptune117's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
As far as the game and the FM as it stands now people do it on soft targets. It works but only because they know its a column of trucks that they put in via the ME and they know its all soft targets. Mix in some armor or even something that shoots back and well....bad piloting will get your killed. Yes you can do it and make a neat video for YouTube but as far as being a viable strategy it's not. -
Also notice in that video about 4:30 when he's doing aerobatics....you dont hear the trimmer click anymore...he's probably got the button held in.
-
Everyone always forgets to mention another big part of the trim system, that being the collective brake. In the real thing you must squeeze the brake lever on the collective to actually move the collective. There is a microswitch on the brake handle that when the handle is released it provides Altitude point for the ALT HOLD autpilot channel. I find it really helps with long distance flights AFAIK the trim button does not set the altitude if you have the ALT HOLD button pushed in.

I have a couple of Corsair P128 SSD's in raid for about a year. Very fast and reliable so far. Good price point and performance. Never going back to a HDD again except for backup purposes.

Keep in mind those synthetic stress tests aren't even close to real world at all. I've never seen any game even come close to loading 4 cores or 8 threads to max. Every I7 has a different voltage table programed into it even between the same chips and same revisions. Don't even touch the voltage unless your system becomes unstable. The H50 will be just fine for what you are doing. If you can get to between 3.2 - 3.8 Ghz without touching the volts call it good.

I get the flickering also BUT if you set the MFCDs to display every frame it pretty much goes away. Got my other 480 GTX back from Gigabyte...There is a big improvement in smoothness of gameplay. Single card tends to slow down whenever you have the MFCD's in view but SLI with AFR2 really smooths things out.

Not quite right. There is a profile for DCS:BS 1.0 in the driver. When ED patched the game to 1.02 they broke the compatibility fixes in the driver because they renamed the .exe to simulator.exe There are several other problems with the way the Nvidia driver applies profiles 1) It only checks that an .exe file is running without any hash checks to confirm that it is the proper game/executable - The problem with this is that now FC2 and DCS:BS have the same exact name simulator.exe There are some settings that work in BS but not FC2. I may be wrong here but doesn't LOFC also have simulator.exe ( I think that this was the original reason DCS:BS was given a different .exe name in the beginning????) The graphics engine is most definately not exactly the same since the original DX8 lockon. 2) Now throw into the mix DCS:A10-C .....also named simulator.exe but with a newer graphics engine that may or may not require the old fixes(who knows) and adds several new graphics enhancements. No wonder people can't get consistancy. It's using driver level fixes for 3 or 4 different versions of the same engine. I've posted this on the ED forums and Nvidia forums before with no reply on either side....

I agree. I have SLI 480 GTX, One had failed and had to be sent out to get repaired. At 1920x1200 I notice a difference, can only get steady 60 FPS if I look up from the cockpit or go to external views. Some stuff in the sim still causes graphical slowdown no matter how much GPU power you throw at it. Hopefully when they come to the optomization phase it gets better. Bottom line for me is trying to get 60 FPS with highest details possible. Anything over that is a waste and below 40 FPS is a slideshow.

I own all 3. It is definately an upgrade and will make flying DCS:BS a treat ( once you get it set up to your liking) The WH is quite a bit better quality but as you stated it's aprox $500 depending where you live etc. AND you still have to get seperate pedals. so the real cost is closer to $700+ If you are used to the SST software you will jump right in on the Logitech stuff. It's almost exactly the same ( rumor has it same programmers) The stick has a few small issues and Logitech is slow on their software updates but bottom line is you cant get a complete OOB setup like this for $250.

Unless you play Blackshark in arcade mode....then what would you call it :P
-
All that matters is if you enjoy it sim or not. My question is: What is the replay value? How long does it take to beat the SP missions etc? I like the look of it.

Outside of some of the Hollywood missions people make, how often would a real A-10 see any of it? edit: Refering to the A-10C and its current role...
