  1. Vsync on or off?
  2. Because someone changed the thread title.....It used to be something about voice comms...TrackIR was never mentioned
  3. If you use Teamspeak 3 this is possible but not as far as comms from AI in the game. Using TS3 with TARS and map the voice and mic through headset and just use your soundcard for your speakers will deliver the same effect. Very nice. Depending on your setup you may also have to tinker with audio settings in windows also. I've also been able to do it all on just 1 soundcard that headphone and speaker outputs using analogue headset.
  4. I remember one of the devs jumped into a KA 50 and was flying around on a FC2 server BEFORE there was a compatibility patch...People thought he was hacking.
  5. The G35 has a really heavy duty braided cable. I wanted the G930's but have always had bad luck with wireless stuff. Is the battery user replaceable in the G930 after it wears out? I use my PC every day and was worried that the charge life would get shorter and shorter until you had to have it plugged in all the time.
  6. Logitech G35's - Exactly the same as the G930's pictured above but with wires and surround sound. I originally bought some plantronics but after having them on for 10 minutes they are so inflexible that they feel like they are drilling a hole in your head
  7. With TARS you have an emergency freq.that you can talk to downed pilots on so it's good to know so we can preset to that. Back when I was in ATC pilots were only allowed to use channels in the local area around their own base. Each base had it's own channel freqs. That being said it would be nice to have a template you can make in the ME so that everything like loadouts and presets can be re-used.
  8. I've had it happen a bunch. In every case for me it was because the engines were partially dammaged, you could see lots of bullet holes in the engine compartments on both sides. The engines were operating at reduced power. After a bunch of times I could still keep it airborne only by dumping all weapons the second I saw I was loosing power. Another big factor with reduced engine power is fuel. Fuel is HEAVY. If you had a full fuel tank you are going down no matter what, but if it was in the 40%-25% range there is a chance you can limp it home. I usually always have the groundcrew pull fuel off the chopper because its always 100% full and most times you only need 50% or less and still have plenty if you make it home.
  9. Lots of times in the shark you fly out low and slow on a 20 minute flight only to be shot down by some vulture that knows you're coming. I don't feel any pity at all for that base or anyone trying to take off from it. Reap what you sow... They just get mad because your hurting their airquake k/d ratio.
  10. I've got 7 controllers plugged in and it recognises them all. I think there is a windows limitation of 8 joysticks but I could be wrong on this.
  11. I always get a slight pull to the right when taking off down the runway. Ctrl enter shows controls are centered. No brakes applied. Very annoying. Unused axis are all cleared out of controls. I've added some deadband to rudder and stick axis to account for the mechanical slop in the controls so I don't have to constantly "bump steer" back and forth because ther eis no spring pressure . It's no wind or loading issue. It only started happening after Beta 4. If I disengage the NWS it still pulls. Tried yaw trim etc. I thought it might be a throttle or engine power balancing issue but other people get it with no throttle or rudder.
  12. I'm pretty sure you want to install the 1.02 on top of a clean install. Skip the other patches or it will mess you up. You can install to any directory you wish but it is preferable to make a dir directly on the drive (IE D:\Blackshark) if you are using Modman to install mods. Another tip: make sure you deactivate your CD keys for old installs so you dont't have to burn extra activations etc.
  13. Quick question: Did you plug it into the same port as before or try different USB ports? After the last firmware update mine now powers off for a few seconds when the PC boots and initialises everything but doesn't still turn it off when the PC is powered down :/ Here's hoping also..... sick of unpluging my PC to get it to turn off...
  14. If Intel controllers were "bricking" my G510, TM MFD's, G940 and the other half dozen USB devices in addition to the TM WH then I would say his point is valid. Problem with that arguement is that other programable gamepads, joysticks and keyboards aren't failing....
  15. We are lazy and search is not our friend?
  16. I keep hoping to see a Wiki for stuff like mission design/skinning etc at: http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/Main_Page maybee you could talk ED into starting a new section? Forums are nice but valuable stuff like this ends up burried and lost :/ The AI task system PDF included with DCS:A-10C is a good start but there just doesnt seem to be a good repository for info or how to's.
  17. Being able to save a dynamic missions state would be one step closer to a DC :P . The RMG is very nice and adds a lot to replayability. Great tip on saving them...with a few tweaks you could make it into a multiplayer mission?
  18. Looks like you had DCS:A-10C and BS running at same time. My guess is it caused some sort of conflict because the other game already bound the controls? I tired running both at the same time but eventually either one will crash but couldn't duplicate the error.
  19. Really only need to change zoom when typing into the CDU or doing a gun run so at those times constant view adjust isn't needed and it doesn't hurt to take your hand off the throttle for a split sec. If you have rudders with toe brakes you could set a toe brake for zoom axis and just have the other do both brakes, that way you could always maintain both hands on the HOTAS.
  20. I bought one and don't regret it a bit. The days of spiky pots are gone for good. I updated the firmware no problems. It's the best stick I have ever owned and I've owned pretty much every higher end stick out there made by CH, Saitek, MS, logitech and TM except the cougar( tried but didnt like) and X65( held out for a WH). I had real trepidation about buying it because the TM F-22 pro gave me carpal tunnel from the stiff springs in it but this is nothing like those older sticks. It hands down beats anything I've ever had.
  21. The F117 was designed in the 70's went into production in the 80's and was top secret until the 90's. Jimmy Carter was president when it was being made.....
  22. XP64 is really buggy I traded in a few 32 bit versions for the 64 bit way back in 2006 for some office machines ( it was free ). Drivers are hard to come by it's kind of a black sheep in the Windows family. Hope you get your problem solved.
  23. The Nvidia drivers are bugged, your game is now being recognised as DCS: Blackshark 1.0 (DCS.exe) because Nvidia never bothered to update their profiles after the 1.02 patch to reflect the executable name change to simulator.exe It (DCS profile) is hardcoded into the driver an you can't delete it. The Nvidia driver only checks to see if a program of the same name as one in a profile is running and then applies the setting to that program there is no version checking or anything. To make things a bit more confusing ED was naming DCS:WH simulator.exe at first then changed back to DCS.exe (same as DCS:BS 1.0) need to change settings for DCS:Blackshark in your profiler to have an effect on the game. I had a similar issue to yours and it was corrected by changing a setting in the Nvidia control panel. Unfortunately I can't tell you exactly which setting it was because I didn't write it down.I think it may have been the Texture filtering setting.
  24. Whenever 76th TFW members are hosting we generally use a password, most of the time it is the exact same password every time so that people who have flown with us before can jump right in. We are not trying to block anyone out unless there is squadron training going on. In fact we encorage non members to jump in. Voice comms is a cornerstone of teamwork and all members and guests need to use it. That being said you can get said password by simply joining us on TS3. If the TS3 info is not in the server browser you can check the main page of our website http://tf-blackjack.com/content.php and it is right there. We have started to use TARS so if you jump into a channel and say "hi" and noone responds it is because they are in game using this great system.
  25. Mine is going to finally arrive on Monday. The only bummer is I'm moving in a month so will have to take it back apart again. I would wait but if I wait to put it together and pieces are missing it would be tough to explain how I didn't check my shipment immediately.
