1. It should go into a spin like that if one of the wings is blown away by a sam or AAA :)
2. It is best to use AP while trying to aquire a lock with just the mav seeker. Otherwise forget it, you wont be getting off snap shots like lockon anymore...
3. Suggestion: Helmet sun visor I know the sim is on feature freeze so I'm posting here instead of beta forum. The new sun effects are really good. Very realistic. I would like to have a sun visor simulated sort of like the NVG effect except instead of green just make it a transparent darker color like on a real helmet. There has been a few times flying a route etc where is would be nice to have this. We have it in DCS:Blackshark although it isn't very well documented there is a transparent window shade you can flip up. It will finally get use if they decide to bring DCS:BS up to the new graphics engine.
4. Even with the optomizations in this version it still appears more CPU bound than GPU. The good framerates hes getting are due to running at 4.5 ghz would be my guess. At some tipping point though the card will not be able to keep up with the CPU but it's really hard to say without a benchmark mission in this game. It's still a DX9 game so pretty much any higher end card from the past three years or so will be fine with A-10C.
5. Just installed beta 3 ( full beta 1 + beta 2 patch + beta 3 patch) and it's working now. Had to DL the beta 2 patch since I had the full version Beta 2 when this was happening. Maybe an issue with Beta 2 full install>
6. From rewiews I've read the 580 is approx 10-15% faster with less heat. This sim is CPU limited so i doubt youd notice much of a diffference. Hopefully in the future they will offload some more work from the CPU to the GPU with DirectCompute/DX11. Until then get the fastest CPU you can and overclock it.
7. Yes exactly the same behaviour as Jax37. You can hear everything I can esc and exit from the mission. Are you guys using Nvidia hardware? I'm using driver ver 260.99 It definately isn't a hardware issue maybe a driver issue or game bug. Edit: This was for Beta 2- I didn't see that the Beta 3 was released, downloading now and will check it again.
8. In the Hideout mission all I get is a bright flourescent green screen. Labels do show up but that's it. Both EN and RU versions of it do the same thing. tested on x86 and x64. This is the only one I'm having issues with at the moment, all others load and play fine. I don't have any graphics issues with any other portion of the sim, just this one mission. The game will also crash with this mission if I try to do anything. Is this a known issue or should I post more info?
9. Some of this sound right but some of it wrong. I was a controller in the USAF about 17 yrs ago so my knowlege is a bit dated. Seems to me we never used flight level (FL) until altitude was over 18,000 feet. Flight level was thousands of feet. Altimeter was always given in inches mercury without saying the decimal point IE:" Runway two one in use, altimeter two niner niner two, wind two seven zero at one zero" Simulating ATC in and of itself would be a whole nother simulation. There are mountains of information you have to know as a pilot or controller, stick to the basics. I'd rather see game development time spent on battle simulation than ATC. What happens when I blow your radar up or it gets shut down? Non radar traffic procedures.....eeeeewwwww.....booring and it makes your brain hurt lol
10. Best place for OC and hardware info: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/index.php Honestly if you are new to OC. Get a decent cooler and new thermal paste and make sure you clean all the old OEM junk off with some thermal paste remover and go for 3.2 - 3.6 ghz. You will get a good stable overclock without really having to touch the voltages or anything else. On I7's power consumption is not linear after a point, once you get up around 4ghz it is really sucking the power so you need a good Power supply, also at 4ghz you will notice a difference in your electric bill. Don't disable any of the power management stuff for the CPU like some sites reccomend. Also another hardly mentioned thing on a lot of OC websites: I7's your Uncore speed MUST be double your memory speed or you will notice your memory is not running at the right clock speed so check your multipliers to make sure they are right. IE for 1600 mhz DDR3 your Uncore must run at 3200 mhz.
11. More likely an issue related to Win7. I've had some auto updates really cause troubles. Did you try to use system restore and bring it back to a few days prior when it was working ok? Other things to check: -Open device manager and make sure nothing is yellow or red.(missing drivers etc) What version Nvidia driver? Check that your GPU fan is speeding up on your graphics card when you are gaming/benchmarking. I've had a few versions of Nvidia drivers fail to control the GPU fan resulting in problems like you describe. The card is slowing down because it's overheating then crashing.
12. Reread what I said. I never said Windows can control power when the PC is shut down...USB ports have standby power but if the command is never sent to put the device into a low power state when windows shuts down it will remain it it's last state which is ON. If you unplug the USB cord then plug it back in when the PC is already shut down the lights will go off and stay off. I wonder what will happen if I unplug/ replug it with PC off to shut the lights off then boot into safe mode....
13. Thanks for the links. Funny I looked through pages and pages in here and never saw this.
14. If I enter the BIOS setup the light on the WH throttle will go off on my system. They then turn back on after windows loads. I suspect windows is not sending the proper power state (S0 I think) to the device to power off therfore it always remains on. It may be a windows or device or BIOS issue or a combination of problems. I did a bit of research on how the USB standby power etc works and it shouldn't matter at all which port it is plugged into. I tinkered with some power settings in the BIOS but no result. Another note: First time I plugged in the throttle the light did not turn on immediately, they turned on after Windows loaded and never shutoff. Entering the BIOS returns the hardware to the proper state of off so it's a good bet that Windows not sending the proper command at shutdown is the issue. Also a warning: Do not ever turn off ACPI or you will totally screw up your Windows install.
15. Good question, I'm wondering this also. The MFD's power off their lighting but the WH throttle does not. Maybee engineer A at TM needs to go ask engineer B how he made it so the lights power down when the PC does. I'd suspect a firmware update will correct this issue
16. I've been looking at this: http://www.obutto.com/flightsim.html Price seems right and I don't really want a full blown cockpit. Wondering if anyone has this yet? Would be nice to see a real review of it. My worry is that it won't hold up to daily use. Would just like some real feedback from someone that owns one.
17. There is a tiny bit of mechanical play in mine as well, seems normal to me. Hardly noticeable doesnt have any effect on flying in the sim whatsoever on mine.
18. Serial#: 01888 Location: Greenville, Michigan
19. I would venture a guess that you don't eat at the controls, drink coffee, soda or other beverages while smoking cigarettes ( or all 3 at the same time while steering with a knee) :pilotfly: Those would be some of the reasons for covers that I could think of
20. I think it was Mower that provided the solution: You need to sign in with the same account you used to buy the sim and you need to register with the x64 version because 32 bit currently has a bug that is stoping the registration from properly working.
21. The trim issue isn't fixed for me there is still pressure on the stick when you hold in the trim button in DCS:BS are you saying it works like that on your setup? FFB slop is still bad and the only way to fix it is by adding a 10% deadzone on both axis.
22. Is it just me or does the new song in the Beta 2 GUI sound like a Breaking Benjamin song... Like it
23. After reading another post of someone not getting a response from BLT after 3 attempts to contact them I've canceled my order with them and ordered at SCS. I should have just ordered it from him in the first place. At least he responds to people in an honest fashion on here and his website. Out
24. Just like they were working on fixing the trim not releasing when you hold the button down or fixing the center slop in the FFB? eyeroll....
