  1. Agreed. This is definitely not having a pop at LN. The Fishbed is a fantastic module. It's just this one change that seems to have been a (fairly major) step backwards.
  2. I was flying the first mission of the Spring Tension campaign in 1.5 tonight and noticed something that seemed odd. As I was flying, I was regularly hitting the trim button (with the Heading and Pitch/Roll autopilot channels engaged). I had real trouble landing at the final outpost and felt that the Hip was really fighting me. As soon as I landed, I hit Trim Reset and watched as both the cyclic and the rudders re-centred. This was strange to me as I have Rudder Trim unchecked in the options for the Mi-8. Is this a bug or am I misunderstanding something about how this aircraft works?
  3. Looking really good, Cobra.
  4. TOGGLE = Press 'G' to alternate between gear up/ gear down/ gear up/ gear down ON/OFF = Press "Lctrl+G" for gear up. Press "Lshft+G" for gear down. (Note: These are not the actual mappings). Toggles are generally easier/simpler for keyboard users. For people with HOTAS (fancy programmable stick/throttles), toggles are a pain in the ass. You really want different commands for On/Off or Up/Down so that moving a switch always gives a predictable result. It's far too easy to get out of sync with toggles. The best solution would be to support both options. What people (myself included) are getting grumpy about is the fact that On/Off functionality was removed in order to support toggles. This has messed up everyone's HOTAS functionality and made the experience worse for those of us with programmable sticks.
  5. Have you bought it? If you have, then you just need to go into the in-game Module Manager (top left of the main menu) and choose install.
  6. I flew the Ka-50, Mi-8 and L-39 last night with zero issues. In terms of file size, I'm not sure. I'm not at home, so can't check my folder. Sorry.
  7. ...I strongly suggest that you do. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=147876 I could be wrong, but I feel as though these videos have become a bit lost in among all of the (totally understandable) jubilation about the release of 1.5 Do yourself a favour, though, and go check them out.
  8. You need to buy the various planes in DCS World. Only the TF-51 Mustang and Su-25T Frogfoot are flyable in the DCS World (or the Open Beta) unless you've bought additional aircraft.
  9. Good lord. What are you trying to do. :D Just fire up 1.5, go into the Module Manager (top left of the screen) and then select install. You don't need any separate Mig 21 executable.
  10. This. This was an incredibly poorly thought out change. :( I appreciate that some users wanted toggle functionality, but that should have been additive to the HOTAS-friendly implementation - not a replacement. As Cichlidfan suggests, getting the old key binds back in is the correct solution.
  11. I think you're missing Devrim's point. He's talking about the high-gloss metallic finish that was shown in the early videos of the bare metal Mig-15s and F-86s. That's definitely very much MIA in 1.5 at the moment.
  12. And now I have to go to work and won't be back home for another 11 hours. :(
  13. No. It's apparently a different system to the sort of dynamic scaling seen in Falcon 4.0,m for example. Wags hasn't really spoken about specifics to the best of my knowledge, so I guess we'll find out more about the actual implementation in the coming hours/days.
  14. Yeah, I kind of took that bit for granted. You're totally right, though. :D
  15. The foundational code is in place, but there will be no visible changes to the weather in 1.5. That'll come later in 2.0
  16. We must be approaching some kind of World Record for the amount of times the exact same question can be asked in a single thread. :D If you have the Open Beta installed, then yes, it'll be automatically installed. , If you only have a "normal" DCS install, then no, you'll need to install the Open Beta first.
  17. Indeed. Occam's Razor seems to apply here.
  18. What possible benefit would he get from doing that? I guess anything's possible, but I can't see any possible logic behind such a move. Are you sure? Can you imagine the chaos around here if ED suddenly announced that development of the F/A-18 had been handed over to one of the more questionable third-party developers? :D
  19. Yeah, nothing's official yet, but I find it very hard to imagine that Wags would be stupid enough to tease an aircraft that isn't actually in production. This crowd's hard enough to keep satisfied when you give them legitimate information. God alone knows what would unfold if people started teasing non-existent modules. :shocking:
  20. Excellent. Be sure to let us know when you've finished writing it. :D
  21. Can we get some clarification on this please, LN? Please tell us that you haven't removed the base functionality...
  22. As Thaisocom pointed out, it's already been established that Belsimtek are working on the F-5E http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2419180&postcount=26 http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2419797&postcount=57 http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2423733&postcount=101 Move along now, please... :)
  23. There will be PDF manuals, but not printed ones. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=126712
  24. The Tiger would be mindblowingly awesome. I don't see if happening, for obvious reasons, but I'm happy to dream until the crushing truth of the actual announcement. :D
  25. I think the DCS equivalent of the old Falcon 4.0 "How do I turn nose-wheel steering on?" is actually the Black Shark's "There's a bug that means the radios don't work once you've taken off" It usually turns up about once a month in one for or another. :D
