  1. Ka-50. I haven't touched the A-10C in years and I just don't have the time to get back into it.
  2. Hint: Do a search for "Mistral" in Polychop's "Gazelle" sub-forum. Select "Show Posts" not "Show Threads".
  3. I'd really love to see this idea executed on. I love the high-fidelity DCS modules, but there are definitely times where I like to jump into the FC3 aircraft, too. This solution (in the abstract) definitely offers the best of both worlds.
  4. I've just been getting back into the Black Shark and I'm an SP-only gamer, so this is great news from my perspective. :pilotfly: In terms of the F-15C, I believe that it and the A-10C are both getting new Red Flag campaigns for the NTTR map. Good times.
  5. The question that Wags answered wasn't actually related to "advanced carrier operations". The verbatim question and associated answer were as follows: I'm not sure how "Will the F-18 come with a high quality carrier?" being answered with "Probably not. If we do a new Nimitz Class carrier, that'll be another DLC" can reasonably be reinterpreted into "Wags is referring to greater player control over the carrier". That seems to be a pretty unambiguous statement that there will be no new carrier with the F-18 and "new carrier = new DLC". Time will tell, I guess.
  6. We paid Ilya, not ED. Ilya dropped the ball and ED picked up the pieces. Work continues on DCS WWII in the background, but it's clearly not the priority. Shipping DCS 1.5 and 2 is obviously the most important next step. Beyond that, it's obviously about continuing to build up the DCS infrastructure (e.g. multiplayer in a single aircraft, ground radar, carrier ops and so forth). There's no sense that DCS WII has been forgotten about, but it's going to be a little bit of a slow burn when balanced against the rest of the ED roadmap.
  7. It's not due to be released until sometime in September. That info is in the very first post on this thread.
  8. Hey guys, I just wanted to drop a line with a little positive feedback. I recently reinstalled DCS from scratch (I own every module) and managed to get everything installed except for Black Shark 2. Unfortunately, I have the upgrade version from BS1 and couldn't find my original Serial Number anywhere. :( Anyway, I submitted a Trouble Ticket and received the missing Serial Number within three and a half minutes! :) Not only that, but the representative responded again a couple of minutes later with full instructions on how to apply the BS2 upgrade for DCS World. Massive thanks to the ED representative, Andrey Filin, for the excellent customer service. I know that people are more inclined to post negative experiences than positive ones, so I just wanted to publicly show my appreciation. Great work, guys.
  9. Bear in mind that you can still have it if you want. The Open Beta install is just a different version of DCS World that lives in a totally separate folder. It won't affect your currently installed version at all. To all intents and purposes, it just looks like you're doubling up on your DCS installs. In practical terms, it just enables you to check out the new stuff a few days/weeks early before it's released to your main install of DCS: World. TL;DR - If you've got the internet bandwidth and you want to see 1.5 early, there's no reason at all why you shouldn't download a beta install. Hope that helps.
  10. Hey guys, Is there any way to find the serial number from the original Black Shark? I've just had to wipe my PC and start again after Windows 10 nuked it, and I need to get everything reinstalled. I've managed to install every single module except for Black Shark. I only have the upgrade licence, so I need the install and run the original before I can run the upgrade to BS2. Unfortunately, the My Profile section of the main site gives me every single serial number except for the Black Shark 1 number... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  11. Lovely.
  12. Looking really, really good, guys. Very much looking forward to this module.
  13. Yep. It's a really great little aircraft and a really cool module.

  15. Same. The Hawk was a real disappointment for me. The Aviojet is pretty cool, but still very unfinished. The L-39, on the other hand, looks like the real deal. Really looking forward to it.
  16. In answer to the question, you should be totally fine with those specs. My PC is considerably less powerful than yours and the Mig-21 runs just fine. There were optimisation and FPS issues when it was first released, but the subsequent revisions seemed to address them all. It's well worth the money and I see no real reason to wait for 1.5.
  17. Great news. Thanks. :)
  18. Just curious about whether or not you're currently planning any interactive training missions and the likelihood of a campaign? As an exclusively SP player, I found Belsimtek's UH-1 and Mi-8 campaigns a hugely valuable part of the package. Hoping we might see something similar with the Gazelle. Regardless, it's currently looking amazing. Really looking forward to flying her.
  19. Q: Has any thought been given to partnering with Thrustmaster (or anyone else) on high-end controllers for the F/A-18C module? I'm thinking like the TM Warthog and the A-10C.
  20. Best of luck, Silver Dragon. Hope things start to turn around for you soon.
  21. That was pretty much my reaction, too. It should be noted for the grumpy crowd that this is OPTIONAL object scaling.
  22. For me, it was likely an early Spectrum or Electron game. Fighter pilot was one of the first for me, but not the first. Edit: I actually think my very first was this - F-4 Phantom on the Acorn Electron:
  23. Oh no! Glowing Amraam appears to have caught a really bad case of Leatherneckitis!!!:D
