  1. There seems to be something weird with the Steam pricing (ignoring the whole discount/ no discount issue). As it stands, it's priced at a very weird $103.71 CDN (versus $79.99 on the DCS store). It's certainly worth $103.71, but I suspect that price isn't actually intentional, right?
  2. You need to use RALT+HOME to move the left throttle from OFF to IDLE and RSHIFT+HOME to move the right throttle from OFF to IDLE. Work your way through the Cold Start tutorial mission, and it'll become more clear.
  3. You can delete the Beta - it just depends on whether or not you still want to be trying out the latest the updates and changes before they're ready for the Release branch. You'll always see all of the newest, coolest stuff in the Beta branch first, but it's always going to be more "risky" in terms of potential bugs versus the Release version. It's really your call.
  4. When you select "Create New Mission" in the Mission Editor, it should take you to the Coalitions screen. The option to change maps is on the far left of that screen.
  5. Ah, interesting. I stand corrected.
  6. My understanding is that it only applies to the Hornet at the moment. The effect will be added to the other aircraft at a later date, but the Hornet is the testbed.
  7. You'll always find the changelogs in the Official News forum at the top of the main page: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3493113&postcount=10
  8. Yes, it's absolutely a training campaign. The word "Kursant" actually translates to "Student".
  9. +1 for female voices.
  10. This is great news. Really excited to start playing this. Thanks ED!
  11. Agreed. Really excellent bug reporting. Very respectfully articulated, too.
  12. Ah, I see. I guess that means there are some limited improvements in 2.5.1, but we'll only see the major changes with the release of the Persian Gulf map (and beyond).
  13. No. It's not available yet. The Newsletter states:
  14. I've always loved the look of the Su-34. Appreciating that we'll likely never see it as a full DCS module, I'd love it if we got it as one of the new FC4 planes.
  15. Minor error in NTTR Training Mission 01: Start Up. The tutorial text and narration tells the player to select 6 / East when setting the aircraft's latitude. According to the kneeboard, the F10 view, and my poor knowledge of geography, however, the correct setting should be 4 / West.
  16. Yes. The FCC will constantly recalculate your required airspeed, and provide constant feedback via the arrow beneath the IAS readout on the HUD.
  17. Ah! THAT'S what I was missing. Thanks! So in Wags' example from the video where he set... Ground Speed - 500 kts Target - WP 6 TOT - 14:20:00Z ...I assume that the FCC would automatically treat WP 5 as the IP, right? The pilot would then loiter (if needed) at WP 5 until the push time, after which the FCC would direct the pilot to reach WP 6 at 14:20:00Z at around 500 kts ground speed. Is that correct?
  18. Thanks Neofightr. The logic of that explanation definitely makes sense, but I still can't wrap my head around how that would work in practice. How would the FCC resolve the disparity if I set a desired ground speed of 500 kts, but set a desired TOT that would require me to fly at 200 kts? If the FCC tells me to fly at 500 kts, I'll arrive super-early. If it tells me to fly at 200kts, I'll get there on time, but at the expense of completely ignoring my 500kts desired ground speed. Something has to give in that scenario, but I'm not sure what.
  19. Hey guys, I just watched Wags' video on Waypoint Navigation and had a question. Towards the end of the video, Wags walks through how the Time-on-Target functionality works. In order to set it up, he inputs the Ground Speed, desired Time on Target, and the reference waypoint to serve as the "target". What wasn't clear to me was why Ground Speed needs to be input? If you have a target location and a time you want to get there, surely the desired ground speed is the factor that's calculated by the onboard computers? That seems consistent with the arrow under your IAS that tells you whether you need to speed up / slow down in order to arrive on time. I'm sure I'm missing something really obvious here, but I'm not sure what. Any insights?
  20. The fifth(?) mission of the Fortress Mozdok campaign spawns your Su-27 in the exact same parking spot as your wingman, causing you to explode on mission start. As a result, there's no way of progressing through the mission or campaign.
  21. Yeah, that happened to me the first time I tried that mission. The Backfires all returned home with an un-fired bunch of anti-ship missiles. The other issue is that the target ships have REALLY good point-defences. That makes it hard to guarantee that they'll get hit by enough missiles to kill them and successfully conclude the mission. The way that I completed the mission was by ordering the SEAD flight into battle pretty early in the mission. I then waited until the SEAD flight reported that all of the radars/defences were down before sending in the anti-ship flight. A lot of anti-ship missiles still got shot down, but enough made it through that the mission got completed. Not sure if that helps, but that's how I got to a successful completion. Good luck with it!
  22. Great. Thanks Ironhand.
  23. Does anyone know what the success conditions for this mission are? Is that the requirement, or is there something else?
  24. Great tips! Thanks a lot for the insights, Terzi. Much appreciated.
