  1. Thank you! Every time someone asks "When's EDGE coming out?", it trips my OCD. EDGE is the just the engine that drives the game. It's like asking "When's Frostbite coming out?" instead of "When's Battlefield coming out?". I appreciate that I'm just nitpicking here, but it does irritate me for some reason. :D
  2. I'll buy pretty much anything, Day One. My order of interest, however, is: * Helicopters * Cold War jets * Current jets * Korean war aircraft * WWII Not interested in anything civilian or WWI, but haven't had to confront that issue yet.
  3. Finally completed the Ultimate Argument campaign and I have to say that it was absolutely excellent. $10 for such an incredibly well put together campaign is ridiculous value for money. The final mission felt immense with so many contrails streaking through the air. Flying back to Guadata in the dying evening light with the epic closing music playing was fantastic. Loved it! :)
  4. Excellent. That's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks Ironhand. Unsurprisingly, my lack of knowledge almost got me killed last night. I was just landing after a long Ultimate Argument campaign mission, but the lower left light was on. Turns out I'd accidentally triggered the drogue chute in flight (I went to press the communcations key and hit P instead). The end result was that I landed but then struggled to lose speed. I was still at +200kph when I reached the end of the runway, but just as I was about to hit the grass and explode, the "MISSION COMPLETE" message came up and I instinctively hit escape and quit the mission. A bit of a lucky cheat on my behalf, but it reinforced the importance of knowing what all the little lights mean. :D Thanks again for the help, guys.
  5. Hey guys, Is there any documentation that explains what each of the warning lights means? I fly with the Russian cockpit, but there doesn't appear to be any explanation of the lights in the manual. That makes it a little unnerving when one of the little lights at the lower right of the front panel suddenly illuminates... Can anyone point me in the right direction, please?
  6. I don't think you're seeing two cockpits - just the front seat and the back seat of the same variant. What I'm less sure about is whether or not the cockpit avionics changed significantly between the A and the B. I was under the impression that the main difference was the output of the engines, but I could be wrong on that. http://www.flightglobal.com/blogs/the-dewline/2013/04/f-14a-versus-the-f-14b/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grumman_F-14_Tomcat#F-14A
  7. Exciting stuff and the model's looking great! Thanks for the comprehensive update, Cobra.
  8. Very cool. Like it.
  9. That would make me really happy. There's something about the exotic nature of the Russian birds that makes them really interesting to fly from my perspective.
  10. It's just a copy/paste of the unofficial roadmap that Silver Dragon's been curating on the English site: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=116893
  11. I totally agree.
  12. There are already a number of threads on this topic. Here are two of the longest: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=101143&highlight=smart+scaling http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=139306&highlight=smart+scaling
  13. In what way is TARGET's combined mode result in outcomes that are "too unreliable". I've been using handwritten TARGET profiles in DCS for years and I've never had even the slightest problem with unreliability. If you program it right, it works right.
  14. x1000 this! I totally get and share the Tomcat love, but Top Gun is one of the most cringe-inducingly bad movies I've ever seen. Can't wait to fly an LN-built F-14, though. Good times. :joystick: :pilotfly:
  15. Thanks for the recommendation, Bolek. I'll try it out as soon as I've finished playing through the "Ultimate Argument" campaign.
  16. Just thought I'd stop by to say that I've just completed the Fortress Mozdok campaign and absolutely loved it. I had some epic dogfights and thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing. Nice work, guys.
  17. I've been having the same issues - crazy mad oscillations as the autopilot attempts to settle onto the route to the next waypoint.
  18. The process in the quickstart manual works every time for me: * Ground power on * All right-hand switches except battery on * Four fuel/electrical switches on left-hand side on * Engine start switch depressed (1-2 secs) * HOME at ~500 RPM * RSHFT+HOME at ~1100 RPM * Throttle up to 5000 RPM * Ground power off * Battery on Then * Canopy closed * Pressurize * Oxygen
  19. The terrain is starting to look really impressive. The specularity on the roads and other surfaces adds a huge amount to the sense of immersion. Can't wait to take my first flights in the DCSW2 / NTTR environments.
  20. I feel similarly. The C-101 is a really lovely aircraft - inside and out. The Hawk has a beautiful external model, but (completely subjectively) the implementation of its cockpit is ugly enough that I just don't want to fly it. It's the first time I've been genuinely disappointed by a DCS aircraft. In regard to KaspeR32's observations about third party aircraft, I think Belsimtek and Leatherneck are hitting it out of the park. AvioDev's first offering is promising, but VEAO really need to up their game. I'm really rooting for VEAO as I like their attitude, openness and list of upcoming aircraft, but their first product has left me feeling seriously underwhelmed. I'll be much more cautious when considering whether or not to purchase their next module. Again, this is just my own personal opinion. Other people clearly have different perspectives, so your mileage may vary.
  21. Also voted "Extremely important". Poor visibility of targets in the environment is one of my most enduring frustrations with the DCS series. Scaling may or may not be the best solution, but I definitely feel as though the core issue needs to be addressed.
  22. A former colleague who's also a close friend and the single smartest guy I've ever met is one of the Creative Directors on this project. I didn't know that this was what he'd been directing until today, but I'm not even remotely surprised. The guy's a genius. I'm super stoked to see this in action for myself.
  23. Do you have the pitch/roll stabilizer AP turned on?
