  1. You could use sperical coordinates for that...

    MINING

I will add that there's probably more ecologic ways to make a living, but ah well, it's a free country... :) The amount of electricity being turned into waste heat for BTC mining, it's a bit obscene though.

Did you factor in the capital gains tax you have to pay when mining into your productivity rating?

How to know if you're too late to a boom, you say? If everybody and their neighbour is doing it... ;)
  5. The gains from going to Vulkan will hinge on whether the renderer will get one or ideally multiple threads separate from the physical simulation engine.
  6. I would like to mention that noise could be a winning addition to the current wingflex animation. The smooth flexing behaviour we have currently is certainly an improvement over having no flex at all, but it looks very unrealistic in its smootheness. I don't think it would be hard to make a noise model that is fed with only a handful of parameters (e.g. IAS, wingload, or maybe even a simple function dependent only on wingflex is enough) from the flight model and make that generate acceleration noise that is superimposed on the output of the flex model. So essentially it could boil down to this: More flex->more flex noise. IMHO this simple measure could look immensely more realistic than making it completely smooth. Stores oscillations would be awesome too, but i understand that that is a very complicated topic and data may not be available for many airframes.
  7. With each day that passes, a 2017 release gets less likely. There's your estimate. :)

    LOST IT ALL

The bottom line is, don't cheap out on the PSU. If it fails catastrophically, it can take the intire PC with it in a heartbeat.
  9. Every dev knows that releasing stuff on a Friday is asking for trouble, that's why they moved to Wednesday.
  10. I'm devastated. RIP
  11. Du arbeitest noch nicht lange, oder? ;):D
  12. Source? I remember Olgerd saying that they want to model the gateway.
  13. August ist die typische Ferienzeit, wie soll da viel weitergehen...
  14. Didn't know that Nita Strauss plays for Alice Cooper now. She's come a long way from the Iron Maidens, that's for sure.
  15. Great! Is there a track too? Could you link to the thread so we can have a look?
  16. That's not the point. The point is, there needs to be proof that something doesn't work as expected. People saying that it doesn't work is not proof. I'm not saying that you are wrong, but suppose you were, would you want a developer to waste a day or two of his precious time to double check whether everything works correctly, just to discover that nothing is wrong? Imagine how often people come here simply claiming that things don't work as they should. Should the devs go after each claim and prove it false? I'm sure you understand that they wouldn't get a lot of work done if they did that. That is the reason why things are the way they are. One track reproducibly demonstrating wrong behavior is all it takes to get the wheels turning. Stating it 500 times on the other hand accomplishes nothing.
  17. Did you provide any proof or did you just present your opinion? But they are not the same engines...
  18. But that's not the scientific way. If something is wrong, then you can prove it. If you can't prove it, then that's too little to make a change on. Different engines, different restrictions. If you stick to the restrictions to the letter and the engine reproducibly seizes, make a track of that and you have a strong case that something is wrong. If you need to ask, then how can you say that something is wrong? And turn away so many more because suddenly FMs are tuned because of FEELINGS!!!1!!!1 and not scientific proof.
  19. Did i read that correctly, there is no AB detent while the aircraft is airborne? Or is there another detent system apart from the finger lifts?
  20. If they build a gimbal of that quality, then who's going to buy the next gen stick in 10 years? :)
  21. Yup, that's probably a rewrite on a lot of functionality. It's a start if you know how everything is supposed to work already, but that's about it.
  22. Indeed, it is a good decision. Most of the time when I've released something on the end of a work week, it has come around to bite me in some form or another.
  24. Never heard of that bug. Sounds like a faulty init state of the engine model that gets corrected once the prop moves. It has definately been fixed.
  25. As Yo-Yo has outlined, have a look at the circuit diagram. It is less open to your interpretation than a textual description. Although i admit that if you're trained to read current circuit diagram symbols, the arcane style of that diagram can be a bit of a brain teaser.
