  1. @BitMaster Thanks for the response. I wasnt going with the Gigabyte GPU because the Waterforce is like $700 more than the Suprim. I keep getting nudged towards AMD, but quite honestly, I dont know AMD at all, at least I understand the Intel terminology when I read. I have been reading up on forum topics for new builds for DCS performance, I dont get most of the terms etc. Its tough to plan a build without understanding how the cores work etc. I dont want to turn this thread into a part recommendation thread, but my eyes are bleeding and Im getting info overload. So I will ask a simple question that perhaps I should start a new thread for, but here goes. I have about a $3800.00 budget, and I was going top of line with Intel (MSI RTX 4090 SUPRIM Liquid X 24G is $1,740.00 itself). I plan on keeping the rig for about 5-6 years. I want best performance for DCS at 38" (3840 x 1600) monitor max refresh is 144 I believe, but I would be very happy to not drop below 60hz during game play. What AMD CPU, MOBO and Ram would you strongly recommend? Thanks
  2. Thanks,, yeah, I can only imagine how fast that will sell out!
  3. What is the anticipated pricing of this 7800X3D when it becomes avail Apr 6th? I'm spinning down a rabbit hole now trying to figure out if maybe I should learn AMD and do a build on that instead of Intel instead. My head hurts LOL Ive been reading for a couple days, I am overloading my skull! Even considering the advise just to upgrade in stead of build, putting myself just in a Gen 4 / DDR4 only build or upgrade. So many avenue's!
  4. @BitMasterThanks for the valuable tips as usual! My eyes are burning over the last 3 weeks doing research after research for a new build, Im at a point of information overload and I dont know which way is up anymore LOL. Fortunately, I have a least a couple months before I can commit. Here is a screen shot of current part options on the list. This unresolved RAM is decision is obviously key to the build and parts selection. Again, head spinning. null null
  5. This thread has not caught up to current HyperThreading capability. I am putting a shopping list together for a new build. Im finding a lot of info regarding DDR4 vs DDR5 ram, but I havnt stumbled across any clear cut answer when it comes to doing a build SPECIFICALLY to get the best performance for DCS. The video above addresses a lot, but via a different CPU that doesn’t have the same capabilities of the i9-13900K. Performance recommendations please for the following build would be greatly appreciated. (Parts being seriously considered are as follows) CPU- Intel Core i9-13900K MOBO- ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Hero GPU- RTX 4090 SUPRIM Liquid X 24G Storage- SAMSUNG 990 PRO SSD 2TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 Using current monitor- LG-Ultragear 38" IPS LED Ultrawide HD Monitor (3840 x 1600)
  6. Man, I already dont get their numbering scheme! 7800X3D being released soon? Yet they have already surpassed that number. I dont get the hype.
  7. LOL,, I can imagine the anxiety by most. I only considered AMD 2 days ago when someone suggested it to me. Outside of that, I have very little knowledge of AMD CPUs, But i am trying to get an understanding. Thanks
  8. Whats happening April 6th? My current parts list is: -Intel Core i9-13900K -ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Hero -MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM Liquid X 24G -G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB Series (Intel XMP) 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin SDRAM DDR5 6000 CL36-36-36-96 1.35V -SAMSUNG 990 PRO SSD 2TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 Internal Solid State Drive -MSI MPG A1000G PCIE 5 & ATX 3.0 Gaming Power Supply -Tower: Lian Li PC-O11DW 011
  9. Thanks for the response, Im not really sure what you are comparing here "7950x3d on 3d vcache core 20% faster than on non x3d core (aka 7950x)". I know nothing right now about AMD processors, but will apply myself if I discover that AMD is the best route to take on a new build for DCS. Thats my 1st step, is it more sensible performance wise to switch?
  10. I am a little confused in what I have read so far, perhaps more time is needed for a better conclusion due to the Multi Threading? I am getting parts together for a new build and I am wondering if I should actually consider going AMD instead of Intel i9-13900K? I am in need of really trying to knock down the cost anyway as I am just over budget with my current parts list.
  11. I am doing new build research myself as my rig has not benefitted. I will be following this thread for advise as well. Thanks for the post.
  12. How will the implementation of MT impact settings for NVidia control panel? In other words, what would be the recommended changes if not default?
  13. Wow! good to know! Thanks
  14. Yeah, I checked the Mission editor, there is nothing there to indicate that W01 should be there? nullnull
  15. I didnt add any waypoints. I will look at the mission editor later today and look again, bit im fairly sure there was nothing assigned there. Thanks
  16. Ahhh, is that what that symbol means,,,, hmmm. So far, so good. the other thing is, in this mission, the Apache has (1) waypoint in its sytem, yet, there is nothing there, and nothing was assigned to be there. The spot is literally a location with nothing around it but ground? null
  17. Thanks for the response. I know it is bullseye because I was working with the guy who created this mission. We were trying to figure out why bullseye was showing up in the Apache as "C89". Below is a screen shot of where Bullseye was placed on the map in the Mission editor, labeled as C89. Yes, there is a FARP at Bulls with units as seen below. null
  18. Why would Bullseye show up on my Apache map as "C89"? I dont understand the label? Please advise, thanks. null
  19. Thank you for the response sir! Understood.
  20. I am trying to figure out the appropriate procedure for use on a Multiplayer server, when operating a single vehicle (not a group). Im talking about no previously assigned routes created in the Mission Editor, Im talking about when you create your own route in the F10 map. Example: If I go into F10 map and select a vehicle, create a route, and once its on its way, I then hop in it. Once in it, I want it to continue on the route I assigned, so I engage AutoPilot, it just stops. What is the procedure to be able to hop in and out? And If I do hop in and take control, and want it to proceed on the initial route, can you? Or do you have to re-create a new route every time you hop in and take control?
  21. I realize this is an old post, but I looked for another one related specifically to AutoPilot in a vehicle, but didnt really find what I was looking for. 22. Thank you sir!
  23. Fair enough, I will just prioritize the numbers,, thanks for the simple confirmation guys!
  24. The plot thickens! I appreciate the feedback,,, I am now scratching my head even more now though. I have all these charts but they are a bit convoluted
  25. Im confused about something. If (for example) I see a "2" on my RWR, I get that its a SA-2 site, and from my understanding, there a multiple components for that site. In this example, lets say it has: (1) Launcher, a Track Radar and a Search Radar. The Track Radar (Fan Song) would have a RWR symbol of "FS". The Search Radar (Flat Face) would have a RWR symbol of "FF". So what physical site component actually is the "2" representing in the RWR or the F-16 Viper HAD for that matter? Thanks, null
